“You know, sometimes it’s hard to see in the dark. Especially when you’re blinded by a blindfold. Well, I am a lucky person, I must say. With my glowing red-eyes I could perfectly see in the dark, and right through that blindfold.”

The big crowd was shouting and yelling, and 10,000 fists were in the air. Some were standing on their seats and thus blocking the view for other spectators. It was really noisy and the crowd mainly consisted of drunken fools and hooligans. Yes, you have guessed it correct, this whole scene was taking place in the lower levels of Coruscant, the glorious cityplanet. Heart of the very Republic itself. Have you never wondered why, the heart of the Republic, was so dark and ugly. Well, at least the lower levels were. No? You’ve never thought about that? Then you really should pay a visit to those levels one day, and see the misery for yourself.
Anyway, this is not about the lower levels. Though this scene does take place there, as explained above.

In a big old factory which was last used hundreds of years ago, a big cage was set up. Some benches surrounding it, and a lot of thugs sitting on them. In that cage two men were fighting each other to the death.
Yeah, welcome to the glorious heart of the republic.

A handsome young man wearing a dark red longcoat, a black shirt, black leather gloves, dark grey pants and black boots, stood in the corner of the big hall. Remarkable were his ruby-red eyes and his snow-white hair, though his hair could not be seen since he was wearing a beanie.
That man stood there with his arms crossed, and he appeared to be bored as hell. He watched the fight and sighed. Those fighters were strong, but not skilled. They were just smashing like animals and trashing each other up like drunkards, and a lot of blood was flowing. If that red-eyed man had been in that cage, he would have won by now, because he was skilled. But that was not what he came here for. In fact, he came here to kill someone who was not a fighter at all.

This assassin was no-one less than Tyro Fen.

‘Fools…’ Tyro thought to himself. ‘…But it’s money, and I need money. Where’s that target?’

He looked around the area but could not immediately find the one he was after. He put both his hands in the pockets of his longcoat, and in the left pocket was a combat knife and in the right pocket was his magnum. He had not brought his enormous sword, because it would draw too much attention, right now, he could not use any attention, for it would slow his progress down.

The person he had to assassinate was the man who arranged these fights. It was a big fat Rodian gangster who had hided from the law and taxes, by the name of Reedo Dormu. He had a big bounty on his head, and Tyro had come to claim it. Whatever it takes.

Meanwhile the fighting continued, and one of the two fighters had knocked the other to the ground. He stood tall above his opponent and then kicked the opponent who lay on the ground against the jaw. Anyone in the crowd might not have heard it, because they were all yelling and shouting, but the man who had kicked his opponent did hear the cracking of the jaw. The fallen opponent lost consciousness and now it seemed too easy for the other fighter to finish his opponent off. And so he did.

A few moments later the judge entered the cage with a microphone in his right hand and said: “And our winner of tonight is Brutus the Crusher! Next week he will be standing here face to face with the winner of last week, come all to see! Don’t miss it!”

The crowd shouted and yelled again and then the fighter and the judge exited the cage and went backstage. Tyro shook his head and saw how some workers cleaned up the mess in the cage and disposed of the body.

The crowd then started to leave the building, allowing Tyro to sneak backstage. It almost seemed too easy.

The red-eyed assassin walked up the stairs and most guards thought he was a worker or something like that, no-one stopped him. Then he entered an office upstairs and he stood there, face-to-face with Reedo Dormu. This Rodian had a green skin, he was very fat and wore a typical gangster-boss suit. The ugly Rodian was smoking a cigar and he was surprised to see this strange young man with the blood-red eyes in his office.

“Who gave you permission to enter my office?” Reedo asked.

Tyro did not respond, but revealed the camera he had hidden in his pocket. He sticked it to a wall and put it on auto-shoot, so it would automatically shoot pictures. He pressed a button to activate it and then looked over to Reedo.

“You are mister Dormu, no doubt.” He said.

Reedo nodded. “Yes, why?”

“Good.” Was Tyro’s only response and he aimed his magnum and shot Reedo dead, before the big fat Rodian knew what hit him. After Reedo was killed, Tyro retrieved his camera and checked on the pictures, and saw the pictures were good, and then put the camera back in his pocket.

A few seconds later guards rushed into the office with guns drawn, they heard the sounds of gunshots.

“What the hell is going on!?” One of the guards shouted.

“I just killed your boss, mate. Ain’t that clear?” Tyro said as he aimed his magnum at the guards. He shot them down and made sure they were dead. Then he turned to the window and put his gun back into the pocket of his dark red longcoat, and grabbed a chair. He threw the chair right through the window and jumped out of it, landing on top of a truck that was parked under the window, with a light thud. He then jumped off the truck and ran off into the dark streets of Coruscant, away from the old factory that was made into a pit-fighters arena.

~*~

After retrieving a reward, and deleting the pictures of the killing of Reedo, Tyro wandered through the middle city of Coruscant and entered a cantina, like he usually did after an assassination. He ordered some cold ale and sat down in a booth in the left corner of the barroom, and thought about what to do next…

As he thought about it, he realized he was getting tired of all the hunting and killing…

He had enough of it, he did not feel comfortable with it anymore. Then he figured there was simply no turning back anymore, and he was stuck in this business. Once you got in, it was impossible to get out. But, he would find a way out eventually. He always did.

“Damn it…” He whispered as he put his glass on the table in front of him and he sighed. Things were getting complicated and even a bit screwed up.

In the beginning he had no problems with silencing people, and he could kill without any thoughts or remorse. He just did it, and did not care. But the last few days, he began to feel regret for his deeds, and he started to hate all the killing. It was becoming simply too much for him, and it was getting the best of him. He had to end this, before it would be too late, if it wasn’t already too late.

He sat back in the chair and looked up at the ceiling. Most people would’ve gotten addicted to deathsticks by now, and though Tyro felt the urge to get deathsticks and try out the stuff, he did not do that. He was stronger than most persons and he managed to stay clean, even though he was sliding into a depressed state. But still his sight was not covered by the darkest blindfold yet. He had not fallen into the depression yet. But, would he ever get out?

You bet I will.”

Etti's face was rosy. Alcohol was having it's full effect and she happily bobbed her head to the music of the cantina. She was off in her own little world. Her long, dark hair was glossy and fell all around her body that was wrapped in red. Her fine dark eyes scanned the patrons.

And then her heart skipped a beat. He was handsome...

Etti hopped out of her stool at the bar and slowly, but confidently made her way over toward the man with the white hair and... red eyes? She had a really good feeling. It was one of those intuition things she got but couldn't quite explain.

Etti sat down directly in front of him at the same table. She propped her elbows up on the table and leaned in toward him. Her heavily lashed eyes peered at him curiously. "Hi..."

Tyro was daydreaming a bit, lost in his own thoughts and memories. He did not even realize he was drinking ale, but just drank his glass dry. When his glass was empty he put it on the table without really realizing it and he stared in front of himself.

Then he suddenly became aware of someone, who had sat down at his table and said "Hi" to him. Tyro turned his head into her direction and his ruby-red eyes met her dark brown eyes.

"Hello." He simply said, wondering what was going on. He might have looked like he was confused, because his daydreaming had ended so suddenly. He sat back and examined her. She did not look like a threat to him, but who knows, maybe she was a huntress or something, out to kill him. Maybe she was just one of those girls who thought he was handsome.

Maybe both.

Tyro put both his hands on the table and waited for her to speak. He wondered what she wanted from him.

Etti's eyes went to the man's hands on the table. "May I?" She asked as she gently went to reach for the man's left hand to take it in her own.

She really didn't know why she suddenly wanted to read his palm. She hadn't done this since she was little and used to play games. Something was urging her to, however, and she felt like it was more than just the alcohol in her system.

Etti's eyes monitored his face for a reaction to her advances.

A tall, dark, four-armed male with semi-long brown hair entered the club. He appeared a bit confused. He knew where he was. He knew what type of place it was. But he wasn't sure what went on here. All he knew for the moment was that he was suppose to have fun. But Avion didn't know what fun was.

A strange male had come to his and Anya's apartment. This man was different from the type of person they normally meet with. Which is probably why Anya hand him pieces of stiff stuff with numbers on them and told him to "Go to that club from last week, stay for a while, have some fun."

Fun. What did that word mean? Avion stood near the wall. Walls are nice, you can't be seen on a wall. While he tried to figure out what fun was, he started to get thirsty. He looked around and saw people handing the stiff to a male behind a counter and he handed them glasses of different colored liquids. Avion approached the male, pointed to someone else's glass and said, "Drink?"

"Sure, what do you want?" the bartender asked. Avion didn't quite know what he meant, when he said that to Anya she would just bring him a drink. So he responded "I drink" and handed the male a few of the stiff things he was given. The man looked at what he was being given, it was much more than Avion needed for a drink. The bartender took the credits and brought Avion a glass and filled it. Handing it to him he said, "Just come back when you want more, okay?"

Avion nodded and walked away. He began to look for somewhere to sit, it was easier to drink that way. Looking around he saw a woman that looked alot like Anya. She was with a white haired male, he quickly move towards the brown haired woman and hugged her from behind saying "Anya, you here when?" he meant 'when did you get here?' but Anya would know that. Avion stepped around to look her in the face only to realize he had hugged a complete stranger.

Tyro remained silent when she took his hand, but simply nodded. He did not know what she wanted to do, and he was not sure about it, but he just smiled and nodded to her, letting her know it was ok. Then something happened, a complete stranger appeared and Tyro first thought the girl and the stranger knew each other, but it appeared that these two were strangers to each other as well.

Tyro stopped smiling when this stranger showed up.

"Who are you, four-armed bloke?" His low, but powerful voice sounded.
"Were you given permission to join us? I don't think so."

Tyro was not stupid. He had come across so many people in the past that he could tell from the look in their eyes, the way they moved, and the way they acted, what kind of persons they were. By now he had figured out that this girl was not an enemy, but he was not sure about the four-armed bloke. His red eyes looked straight into the eyes of the stranger.

"Just a second, milady." He said to the girl and he got up from his seat. "You've got that look in your eyes, mate." He then said to the four-armed bloke. "Turn. Away. Quick."

His words might have been harsh and direct, but Tyro knew a killer was standing before him, and he wanted to get rid of him.

Etti had just turned the white haired man's hand over so that she might look at his palm, when suddenly she was grabbed from behind. She was shocked and whirled around. She was definitely not this 'Anya' person the new four armed man spoke of. And Etti was also surprised by the white haired man's reaction.

She would have asked who the new comer was, except the white haired man didn't seem to want him around at all. The sudden animosity startled her and she wondered if there was something going on she didn't know about. Etti frowned at them.

Avion looked at the white-haired man confused. He wasn't sure why the white-haired man was so hostile. With his lower left hand Avion patted the young lady on the shoulder. "Sorry, not Anya." he said.

He extended his lower right hand to the white-haired man. "Avion..." he stated, attempting to introduce himself. He thought for a moment, maybe these people could tell him what fun meant. "What is fun?"

Tyro looked at the man's hand as he extended it to him, but he kept his hands where they were. He tilted his head a little to the left and looked at the man in front of him.

Tyro had just killed a big fat ugly Rodian in cold blood, then killing off a few guards, after having watched a fight to the death which was taking place in a cage. No shit he was not in the mood at the moment. He had come here to relax, and to have a drink and just chill out. He did not mind the girl who had come to him, but now some weird four-armed bloke was working on his nerves. Just when the red-eyed assassin was totally not in the mood.

"Fun?" He said. "Are you kiddin' me? Look, Avion, just get yourself something to drink and leave me alone. You want money for a drink? Here, take this!"

Tyro grabbed a handful of credits out of his pocket, and threw the blood money in front of the stranger's feet. Then he sat back in his chair, assuming the guy had understood what Tyro was saying, and he turned back to the girl.

"I'm sorry." He said to her. "I'm just totally not in the mood for these things. I've been through a whole lotta trouble, lately. Had something to do with pictures and a few suits, a Sephi, a crazy Horansi, and I guess I could add a big fat Rodian to that list as well. Oh, and not to mention a crazy four-armed bloke who just introduced himself as Avion. Oh by the Force I've had enough!"

Tyro smashed his right fist onto the table and then leaned on the table on both his arms, resting his head on his hands. He sighed and closed his eyes for a while. He could see all the ones he had slain in the past few days, and for what? Money? Perhaps... Blood lust? No, he was not addicted to killing. Then what was it?

He knew damn well why he did all that. Because he was angry. Maybe even depressed.

Tyro opened his eyes again, and stared at table's surface which was right before his eyes. He sighed again and then looked up.

"Sorry." He said. "Damn, I'm sorry." He looked up to the four-armed bloke who apparantly still stood there and said: "I'm sorry, man. Have a seat."

He sat back in his chair and looked from the four-armed bloke whose name was Avion, to the girl whose name he still did not know.

"My name is..." He said as he looked over to the entrance of the cantina, but he stopped talking when he thought he saw someone familiar. A girl with brown hair and brown eyes entered the room, but when he looked better, it was not her. Damn it... He thought to himself. You starting to get obsessed now, or what? Get it together man, before you lose it...

"...My name is Tyro..."

Etti blinked. If she weren't under the influence of alcohol, she may have been scared of this Tyro. For some reason, though, she only felt the urge to read his palm even more. She wondered what strange force besides alcohol was pushing her toward Tyro, pushing her toward something she had to say. Etti didn't know what it was she had to say yet, but if she looked at his palm, she felt she would find out.

Her hand came out again to lay palm up on the table. "It is a pleasure to meet you Tyro. I am Etti. Please, may I have your left hand again?" She thought her voice was slightly heavier than she had meant it. While this gave her a more seductive tone, she meant it to be serious.

Ignoring this Avion for now, she looked into the strangely red eyes of Tyro and there was something very troubling there. There was a weight in his eyes that should have him acting even more upset than he already was.

Again, she blinked, wondering how she knew these things. Since when was she privy to the feelings of others? Her lips pressed together in silence.

Tyro nodded. "Yeah, that's ok." He said. "Though I wonder what you're up to, Etti."

He extended his left hand and looked at her. He had never come across a girl asking for his left hand, and especially not in a cantina. He had met with various strange people, but never something like this. He just extended his left hand, as Etti wished, though, he was curious.

Etti smiled at Tyro. "I am reading your palm." She turned his hand palm up inside of her own and with her other, she spread his fingers out. She peered down at his pale skin in the dimly lit cantina.

Etti's eyes wandered over it for a moment. Seeing normal things, but then she was not seeing normal things and she began to say things she didn't know she knew. "Your life has been sad... Your parents... And then there was a great change... And much blood," she said as she traced the lines on his hands representing his early life. He must know more of what she spoke than she herself did. But his past wasn't what she had come to discuss. It was his future that must be dealt with.

She blinked, trying to clear her eyes, for some reason tears were coming to them. Sadness was coming from him. Etti was confused but she heard herself saying, "You will have to make a choice. It is a choice you will have to make again and again... until the end." Her words were so vague anyone could have this fortune applied to them. She frowned. "The choice is about a girl... with brown eyes." How she could know something like this confused Etti. But it was true. Tyro was connected to this girl already and through him she saw this girl.

Etti looked up at Tyro sorrowfully. "If you had never met, if it was even possible not to have met, then things would not be like this at all. But your life is twisted with her's now and you cannot go back." Then she saw more. "This girl needs you. But she is your doom." Etti shook her head, then tried to explain. "Without you now, she is doomed. With her though, you are doomed."

Etti wasn't helping at all. She had no idea why she had felt the urge to do this in the first place. And then it came to her. "Tyro, someone will come to you. And they mean her harm. You must help her or she will die."

When Etti took Tyro's hand he smiled, and thought to himself, what kind of nonsense is this? Oh well, if she's happy with it... But then she said some words that shocked him. He was paralyzed and blinked when she told him some facts of his past. Then he started to shake a bit. He remembered the things from his early life, and then his life as a teenager, how wicked and screwed up it all was. Yes, he had totally screwed up.

Then she talked about a girl with brown eyes, Mira? Was she talking about Mira? The girl he had hired for a mission, without realizing he was drawing her into darker business, and then together with her wiped out a whole building of men who did not deserve to die at all? Mira, he had met in Yractos, and then with whom he went to Coruscant to collect money? These thoughts led him to the thoughts of Dalang, and Tyro tightly grabbed the left leg of the table on his side of the table, with his free hand.

Etti continued to tell him about Mira and told him that either he would be doomed, or she would be doomed. Somehow, he seemed to understand it and when she was finished he found himself staring at the girl in front of him. Just staring, and unable to speak. Tears rolled down his cheeks and he was shaking through his whole body.

"W...Why... God... I... No..." He whispered. "F#%k..." It was all too much for him to take. Then he realized he was doomed indeed, from the beginning. He was doomed his whole life, and he had nowhere to hide. Instead he would have to fight it.

"Where is she?" He whispered. "Where the hell is she? If I gotta be doomed, so be it, but she is important, she cannot be doomed for whatever reason... Please, tell me where she is..."

If Etti was indeed that good, she would notice the look in his eyes. They were twinkling as they did so often. Yes, his eyes...

...They were set to kill.

Etti looked at Tyro, confused and bewildered, but she spoke the answers that she didn't know she had. "She is moving..." Etti couldn't see her clearly. "Brown eyes are moving away from you." Etti could feel it through Tyro's hand. But then she looked sternly up at Tyro. "You will stay here for now though. And you will have another drink."

Etti didn't mean to be holding Tyro's hand tightly, but she was.

It was strange, Etti thought, that if she had not spoken to Tyro, then he would have possibly been freed from his spiralling fate. But then it wouldn't be fate, would it? Was that it then? One must obey?

Tyro's blood-red eyes were focused on the girl in front of him, who had introduced herself as Etti. A thousand thoughts were going through his mind, and the whole room seemed to spin, but he kept his eyes focused on her. He wanted her to tell him everything, but perhaps she didn't know everything. At the moment, he could not speak and he just stared at her.

Would he stay in the cantina? Would he have another drink? Perhaps he would, right now he really felt like he could use a drink.

Slowly he nodded and then finally he managed to say:
"I would like something to drink..."

"Then you're in luck hun," said an extremely attractive female human who suddenly approached their table. She was carrying a couple of frothy drinks in large mugs. "I bought us all a round." She set them down and sat down at the last empty chair at the table.

Etti blinked at her. Did Tyro always attract this much attention? Well... he was handsome... too bad he was soo upset... too bad Etti was just the bearer of bad news... But why would anyone take what she said seriously? Because she knew what she had said was true, and this scared her. She shook her head. Yes, she could use another drink.

Grabbing one of the cold mugs, she smiled at the newcomer. "Thanks so much!" She said cheerfully. "My name's Etti."

The big busted woman merely glanced at her before turning to Tyro. "So hun, what's a guy like you doing in a place like this?"

Etti frowned at this woman. She was so lame.

"What I mean to say is," she leaned forward ravealing way too much clevage, "wouldn't you love to get outta here?"

Tyro blinked and then looked at the woman who had just sat down. Even when he was upset, he noticed her... boobs. After he glanced at them he looked up to her face and saw she was attractive indeed.

He quickly took the drink and drank, he drank the glass dry in a few big sips, and then looked back at the woman.

"Well..." He said. Then he looked over to Etti, and then back to the very attractive woman whose name he did not know, and perhaps would never know. He had been through this before, he sometimes would go with the ladies, have a bit of fun, and then leave in the early morning. He refused sometimes as well, it depended on his mood.

"...I should get out of here." He said. He stood up from the chair and he looked around the room, he seemed to be a bit disorientated. He placed his right hand against his forehead and then let his arm fall to his side again, and looked over to Etti.

"I have to get out of here."

Etti would probably understand what Tyro meant by that, but the attractive woman could misinterpret his words. She would probably do, and think Tyro wanted to sneak out with her, but what he meant was, there was no time to lose. He had to find the girl with the brown eyes. The one who he could not get out of his mind. The one who introduced herself as Mira Rey.

The big busted lady then quickly stood with Tyro.

Etti watched, bewildered.

"Tyro, right?" Asked the strange woman suddenly serious. "I have a job for you. You should hear me out. We pay well." Her hands were on her hips and she seemed like she wasn't letting him go.

Etti had no idea what was going on. Perhaps this was the person that Tyro needed to meet here. Perhaps this was how he was going to find the brown eyed girl. This didn't make too much sense to Etti. So she instead focused on her drink and took a long, slow sip.

Tyro was confused now. He nodded to the woman and then looked at Etti. "It was nice meeting you, Etti... I hope we will meet again."

Then he slowly walked towards the exit gesturing for the woman to follow him. Outside he waited for her and he would listen to her. Whenever someone offered him a job, he would always listen, because he always needed money.

Etti was sad to watch the handsome Tyro go off with the big boobed lady. She frowned and her eyes went down to her free drink.

The strange woman followed Tyro until they were outside. "This job pays a lot because it's trickier. And we have heard about you. You should do just fine." Her eyes traveled up and down him. "We are prepared to give you 4000 now, and 16000 when the job is complete." She stared at him in the eyes. "All you have to do is bring us Renya Alam, alive and unspoilt."

She reached into her almost bursting blouse and pulled out a datapad. "Here is where she was last seen: Vector Station. She may be with some backup, we've lost contact with two of our own men who were sent to retrieve her." But then the woman shrugged, "Although, Alam could have gotten rid of them herself. We suspect her to be responsible for that mess on Gyndine. Have you heard about that? 21 people were murdered." The woman's eyes lit up. "Fantastic. But anyway, we're not telling the police about that. They don't know anything. We want her though. The drop off location is on the datapad."

There was a place listed with times at which the drop off of Alam could be made.

"And her picture and all other information on what she looks like is there."

The datapad revealed a relatively recent picture of Mira walking through some ambiguous, crowded street. And the Renya Alam description matched Mira.

"Do you think you can handle it?"
