In a galaxy that was in constant upheaval, the Wheel was a station where the war just... never seemed to touch. There were rumors that the Sith had tried to take it before and the Hutts and maybe even the Empire. Vander would believe it. He wasn't in the "know" on any of that, of course. Those rumored attempts had happened before he was really "active" in the galaxy, but despite all of that, the station had stayed out of it. Neutral and on its own.
The Maverick had docked at one of the thousands of external buoys for the "low rollers" who would visit the Wheel. As Vander rode the small transport across from the buoy station to the main Wheel itself, he couldn't help but notice it was... not what he had expected. The station seemed to be split between the "super wealthy" and those who weren't.
All the holonets you could find about the super luxury casinos was - he now discovered - probably very different than what he was going to experience. Most visitors would find "nice enough" places to dock, but even as he approached, he could sense... something below the surface. The whole station felt like it had a malignant foundation below it all, propping up the appearance of beauty.
Wasn't that just the way of the galaxy, though? Vander mused about how much that could represent nearly any planet out here. The galaxy was built on a foundation of lies and stepping on other people's shoulders. Ugliness always reared its head.
As the small transport docked with the Wheel, Vander stepped off and into the main hallways, his eyes sweeping over the area to take in all the people. The place was packed with some people standing around waiting for restaurants and others just trying to push their way to the next hotel or casino.
His face twisted up slightly in an "eww" expression and he just took a moment to step back against one of the walls, letting it all sink in. There was a lot to see here, and it didn't escape his notice just how much security there was everywhere.
Security droids, security officers, cameras... it was his worsts nightmare. He just sighed and rolled his eyes slightly.
The other thing his momentary recon did was allow him to try to spot the woman he was supposed to meet. Another Sith woman with large horns. That should stand out in a crowd, right? He glanced down at his EZPhone to try to check where they were supposed to meet before heading off in that direction.
