A Simple Hold-Up

[Mie]

Abeos house was nothing to scoff at, a lovely, modern, single floor structure with a smooth art-deco style in one of the nicer neighborhoods. How Abe afforded this one whatever it was Jedi got paid with, Mie always assumed it was 'good vibes' or something else comically metaphysical, was anyone's guess. She was simply glad for a nice, warm, clean spot to get out of the rain and rest her head. Following Abeos inside, Mie found the interior of the building just as striking as the exterior, even if Abe's tour was rather bare bones. Mie's room was far more luxurious than the single-room hostel den that she crashed in, so she decided to wallow in this splendor while she still could.

"Goodnight Abe!" Once he was out of sight, Mie threw off her sopping wet clothing into the nearby hamper and decided to savor a long, warm shower with real shampoo and body wash. She felt like she scrubbed layers of grime off her body, as she was normally strapped on personal hygiene products and warm water was sparse at best. With her shower complete, Mie dried herself off and flopped onto the large, luxurious bed with a solid 'whump', burying herself in the thick, warm covers like a nesting animal. She fell asleep like that, balled up in her blankets and as content as she possibly could be, not caring what tomorrow brought.

Abe woke up at his usual time, got out of his bed, and went to the bathroom. He washed his face, remembering his dreams, some little girl screaming or something. Walking out of the room, he headed to the kitchen when he heard a door slightly close.. "The Kriff?" Then he remembered, the girl....named Mie, they were supposed to be finding something. Everything from the previous evening rushed at him. Abe turned and walked over to the guest's room. Stopping at the door, Abe raised a fist and knocked on the door frame. "Hey, you up? " Not hearing anything, Abe slightly opened the door to peek if she was inside. To his surprise, no one was in the room, but the bedsheets were pulled back which meant that Mie woke up earlier than he did.

 

[Mie]

Since Mie was perhaps the least social person on Corellia, she was used to getting up fairly early in the morning in order to avoid running into anyone in the hostel or on the streets. Even with the luxuriousness of the bed, Mie still found herself upright and unable to sleep early in the morning, her circadian rhythm preventing Mie from falling back to sleep again on her own. So she simply decided to raid the fridge, as Abeos had given her carte blanche of the kitchen before they well asleep, so why wouldn't she be able to eat right now? She wasn't going to clean him out after all, she just wanted a sandwich and something to drink. Mie threw on the only dry parts of her ensemble, her undershirt, underwear, and socks, snuck out of her room, and ventured into the kitchen, yawning with the morning haze that dulled her senses and left only thoughts of breakfast in her mind. Reaching the kitchen, Mie began to have a good rummage about, looking for something to drink and found a jug of jogan juice in the fridge. All she needed now was a glass, so she set about looking for one, absentmindedly humming to herself in a tuneless fashion.

After closing the door to the guest room, he decided to go to the kitchen since he figured Mie was hungry. Walking, still in a bit of a daze, Abe stopped at the entrance way to the kitchen when he saw Mie rummaging through the cabinets. On the counter was a sandwich on a plate, and the organic Jogan juice he had bought over the weekend was on the counter top as well. Mie looked as if she just got out of bed since she was just dressed in her undergarments. "Morning, you wake up early, sleep well? I see you are looking for a glass for that delicious drink?" Abe walked toward her and opened up a cabinet within Mie's grasp. He took out two fancy glasses and placed them on the counter. He then walked over to the fridge and searched for another sandwich, finding one, he closed the fridge, and got a plate to put it on. Once they were at the table, Mie sitting opposite from Abe, he said, "Do you know where we can start looking for clues? If you don't mind, could you give me a summary of what happened? I know this might be hard for you, but try to recall what happened." Abe looked at her, not wanting to pressure her too much.

 

[Mie]

When Abeos suddenly and silently came into the room, attempting to make casual morning small talk with Mie, she nearly leapt out of her skin at his sudden presence. She was in her undergarments, caught completely unawares, and unmasked, all of which combined to fuel her sudden, almost squeaking panic when the Jedi suddenly appeared at her side. What was with this guy? He sees Mie wandering around in his kitchen, sans pants, and rather than retreat to his room out of decency or even make his presence known he decided to sneak up on her and attempt to start a conversation. If she didn't have the face of an acklay she might have slapped Abeos one across the face and called him a pervert, but as it stood she doubted, or perhaps just hoped, that Abeos wasn't sneaking peaks.

"Weirdo." She muttered, taking a seat across from Abeos at the center island with her toasted sandwich and juice. She figured that, after taking his food and hospitality, an explanation was in order. "Alright, I suppose I owe you some answers. I...don't remember anything about who I was before, total amnesia before I woke up in a kolto tank. Tank M-13, my namesake I guess. A-Anyway, the facility was on Felucia, and it must have been abandoned for a while since there was no one around and there was barely any power in there."

Abe looked down at his food, suddenly aware that Mie wasn't used to strange men she met the day before walk in on her almost naked. Abe just realized this and supposed he owed her an apology. "I am terribly sorry that I intruded on your privacy, I wasn't aware at the moment, and as a matter of fact I'm still a little dazed. Anyways, again sorry, I'm just not used to people in my kitchen at a time like this. As to your story, it's weirdly fascinating. I've never heard of this kind of operation. So to start, I think we should go check out that lab you said on Felucia." Abe looked at Mie, and picked up the sandwich munching slowly. Finishing, both the drink and the sandwich, Abe said he was going to wash up, pack his gear, and get better dressed, not to mention give Mie some time. "We have some time to think this over, if there is any specific names or places I need to know about, just let me know. Any ways, I'll let you sit by your self, when you are ready, just call me, I'll be in my room."

 

[Mie]

"Don't worry, I've given up on trying to explain or understand you." Mie had come to realize that Abeos' actions went beyond any form of scrutiny or comprehension, so she simply decided to let the man do whatever he damn-kriffing-well pleased, so long as he was willing to help her. Since he seemed completely incapable of being fazed, Mie simply decided to throw the sandwich down her expanded gullet in two massive bites, before drinking down her juice just as quickly. She nearly choked on her food, however, after Abeos simply suggested that they both get up, get dressed, and fly to Felucia to hunt down an abomination infested laboratory right now. What was it with Jedi and not planning ahead?

"W-Wait!" She stopped Abe, putting a hand on his shoulder. "I can't just pack up and fly to Felucia right now. I don't have armor, weapons, training, anything! Not to mention the place is probably still crawling with abomination rejects just like when I left it!"

Abe was about to go when Mie suddenly put her hand on his shoulder. Turning around, Abe listened to what she had to say. "Alright fine, we will go get your gear, wherever it is, and make a plan. As i said, we have all the time we need, but we can't take forever because who ever did this to you is probably out there somewhere." Abe said. "I'll get my stuff together, go to your place and find out what to do next." Abe gave Mie one last look to see if she wanted to say anything more than returned to his bedroom to get his stuff ready for the long journey ahead of them. Apparently Mie had more in store for him.

 

[Mie]

"No, you don't get it. I DON'T have weapons, armor, or training, I'm pretty much a civilian you could pluck off the streets. And that isn't all, there are monsters down there in the laboratory, things that aren't natural and are probably still stuck down there." Mie needed Abeos to understand that she couldn't just pack up everything and go to Felucia with just one Jedi knight so they could unravel her backstory. She needed time, a plan, a team, some training preferably, before she returned to Felucia again. "Look, you aren't the only Jedi I know. I can call up one or two of them, we can make a plan, get prepared, and then go to Felucia, but before that I can't just go flying off to that laboratory with the two of us right now, okay?"

Abe looked at Mie with a new sense of curiosity. This indeed was getting harder and harder. "Alright, I think I know what we can do. I can take you to several stores to buy gear, whatever you want, i'll get. As to training, I could teach you all I know. And the thing about the other Jedi? Lets call them see if they aren't busy and can help us." Abe turned once again to go back when he felt a disturbance in the force. He lately had these feelings, mostly when he was around Mie. He never told her that he sensed the force in her when they first met, which is how he found her, along with the screams of course. Turning around, Abe said, "One thing Mie, I never told you this, but when I first met you I felt the force in you. Have you ever had any previous training? I feel you are different, not only from the mutant abilities, but there is something else."

 

[Mie]

"Well, that would certainly help, thanks Abeos." She hadn't totally talked him down from his plan to go barreling headfirst into the Felucian wilderness, but it was better than nothing. At his mention of the Force, however, Mie became interested in the conversation again, as she knew that she was sensitive to the Force on some level, and had studied it before, but she had never gotten the Jedi's perspective on this subject. Despite knowing two other Jedi and a Force-obsessed mercenary.

"I am, and I believe I use the Lightside, but it's weak, instinctive, and sometimes it feels...wrong. Like, cold and dark, you know? And I don't even know if these powers are natural to me or if they were forced on me by whatever mutated me." That had always been an area of concern for Mie, what parts of her were really her, and what had been surgically implanted by whatever depraved crackpot did this to her. She had a past, she was sure of that, but what that past might be was beyond her.

Abe listened to Mie giving the occasional head nod at appropriate times. He was becoming more intrigued as he found out more information about her. Now he knew she was connected to the force. If only he could reteach her and guide her. She already had some previous training, he could help her, but in time she would be able to use the force. If someone else got to her they could train her, especially a exile. Abe shuddered at the thought. "This is really interesting Mie, I am sorry if I am sounding too weird, but if I could teach and train you or someone else, you could become more powerful. that is only if you want to Mie, I don't want to pressure you."

 

[Mie]

"Actually, some training might be beneficial for me. Hell, it might even help me get some of my memory back, I know I had an...attack, I guess, at the local museum with another Jedi where I had visions when we touched. Maybe if I learn to control this power, I'll get some of my memories back too." It was worth a shot if nothing else. Mie's last excursion in the Force had won her some detached and grainy memories, barely worth noting to Abeos, but still important to her if only for sentiment and information. Perhaps learning more from a Jedi would do her psyche some good, and let her learn more about who she is. Or rather, was.

 

[Abeos Sarquas]

Abe nodded, noting that she had encounter many Jedi. "According to your story, you have become attracted to many Force sensitive beings, apparently you are strong enough to be sensed, this is good and bad. You might attract the wrong attention and get the bad side of the force getting to you." This meant they would have to be extra careful when out and about.

 

[Mie]

Mie decided not to mention that she already had a few close encounters with people who had tracked her through the Force, people on both sides of the spectrum. Exiles and Jedi had tracked her through the Force before, leading to some very interesting encounters with some very interesting people. In any event, Mie was more than willing to train herself to mitigate this danger, and to fully master her strange abilities. At the very least, this training could help her unlock more of her memories, something she was desperate to see.

"I understand, so why don't we get started on my training....After we both get dressed of course."

 

[Abeos Sarquas]

"Alright, let's do it, first do you want to get gear first or just start training? I can teach you what I know. Have you ever used a lightsaber before? It's a Jedi's weapon." Abe was excited and nervous at the same time. He got training from his master, but was he able to train a young girl like Mie? He didn't know how much to train her, but he will teach her everything he knows.

 

[Mie]

"I'd like to get some pants on if I'm being totally honest." Mie was still basically in her underwear in front of Abeos, and although she had quickly realized that he wasn't a lecherous wierdo out to gawk at her body, she was still uncomfortable with their present situation if only for modesty's sake. So, after grabbing her pants from her room, Mie returned to the main kitchen area, a fire in her alien eyes and ready to learn more.

"Alright, class is now in session!"

Abe watched as Mie went back to her room to get changed, rushing back to Abe with her pants on. Abe was already fully dressed, except for his robe, but he didn't feel the need to wear it. Alright, first off follow me, I have a room that I use when I train, and when I meditate. Abe gestured for Mie to follow, and led her to a room bigger than the kitchen. Here is where all the force stuff happens. First I want to get a feel of what you know already. I will place a rock in the center of the room. I want you to clear your mind, take deep breaths and raise the rock using the force, this is very basic, but will only work if you give your full attention and don't think of anything. Reach out and let the force guide you. Close your eyes, breath in and out. Abe led Mie to the center of the room, and placed a rock on the floor beside her. Mie took deep breaths. This would be her first test.

 

[Mie]

Mie follow Abeos into the next room, listening to his every word and instruction. She figured they would start with something more...mystical or metaphysical than just picking up and moving a rock, but considering he wanted her to do that without touching it, that was a good start at least. She nodded as he placed the rock on the floor, and Mie began to concentrate. Thankfully it was a quite room with no particularly pungent odors, so her senses were allowed to freely tune out anything that might cost her focus. Taking a deep, steadying breath, Mie reached out a hand toward the rock, fixating on nothing but the stone in the middle of the room and her desire to move it. As she did this, she felt a faint presence come over her, one that was warm, comforting, and familiar to her. She could see the stone moving in her mind, slowly and unsteadily, but still moving nonetheless. If she opened her eyes, Mie would see that the rock was moving through the air, albeit slowly, irregularly, and barely a foot off the ground, but it was still moving nonetheless.

Abe watched at Mie took a breath and closed her eyes. He looked at her, than directed his attention to the rock. The rock was rising to Abe's surprise. This test was a easy old test that most teachers taught their padawans to see if they were force sensitive and capable of the hard work required. Less than a minute later, the rock was fully a foot off the ground. Ok, you can release the rock gently and open your eyes, you did an excellent job. Mia opened her eyes, looking a little tired, but she still had a lot of energy. Great, now tell me how you felt, if you experiencing any side effects, that should be because you haven't practiced with the force in a long time. You might be thinking that moving a rock is easy, but i wanted to start with that to see how easy and comfortable with the force. What I see is that whoever taught you the force was and might still be very strong in the force. Most times people don't do that the first time.
