G R A S S Y _ P L A I N E S — T O G O R I A

THEME

Togoria was easy to get to. It was outside of Mandalorian space and Drali knew well enough how to traverse the hyper space routes. This time though she was not in her usual heavy star bomber. Instead she was just going along in her old light freighter. It tended to attract a lot less attention.

This was going to be an exciting time in her mind. She had recently met a cousin of Aadya's. The girl was spunky and enthusiastic, just like her. It was nice to meet someone so similar despite the age difference. As Drali waited for the ship to land her legs were up on the dash board of the vessel. Her pilot droid, if it had any say in the matter, would have probably requested they be moved.

As the music played the Deucalian's heavily braided hair wagged back and forth. Her lips made popping noises like that of a child. Occasionally she would mouth some of the few words that she knew and grove to the music as if she was not about to seek out someone who was more or less clinically paranoid.

The being they were seeking was a man known as Pysa Groi. He had a reputation of being exceptionally careful in his dealings, rarely ever working with people he did not have a reference. If he had always been this way or had earned this mentality, Drali did not know. However he was a smuggler that was both affordable and close enough to Kashyyyk. The only problem was he was going to probably be hard to convince to go along with two Sith heading to Mandalorian space.

Reaching over to a shelf the Crusader pulled out a small packet. From it she pulled a stick of chewing gum. It was fruity and had probably been sitting there for a week or so without getting used but all the same the woman took it. In a few moments the vessel would be touching down.

Since the party on Zeltros, Vesna has been the cool girl in her circle of friends, that popularity exploded when she told them Zandrali had invited her on a mission. She had spent several days planning and preparing what she would wear and how she would say certain words, playing out imaginary conversation with herself in the mirror and the girl across was Zandrali. Though what she was not getting used to was not wearing her fine dresses, they were always much more comfortable than common folk outfits with their pants, shirts, boots and she was entirely finding it suffocating.

She now sat on Drali's ship, working on her latest notes and rune inscriptions used in part with the alchemy arts of the Sith, she ate it up, theory and testament of work that had been completed prior to her own experiments. Hearing the hum of the hyperdrive quiet, she closed her notebook and headed to the cockpit and the source of the music that echoed through the ship.

Vesna stepped into the cockpit, her excitement bubbling as they were coming closer to getting the job done. "So who are we meeting?" she asked sliding into the seat next to Drali; the teen glanced at the Deucalian Sith, though would quickly advert her gaze back to the window, she didn't want Drali think she was staring at her like some loser. "This should be easy, right, or are we going to have to be badass Sith?" she grinned.

The grasslands ahead of them was gorgeous. The expansive greenness that waved with the breezes and rustled look fantastical. Drali's eyes widened a bit at seeing it all. Her mouth continued to work the gum until her jaws stilled and a big pink bubble started come from her lips and then popped shortly after.

Seeing Vesna enter out of the corner of her eye she extended a hand holding some of the past-prime fruity gum in an offer towards the teenager. "I've never met him myself but he supposed to be some sort of smuggler. He'll be the one taking us to Kashyyyk. Supposedly he's one of the best smugglers, at least at the asking price I've got." She admited that she did not have necessarily the best habits when it came to saving money. Shopping sprees, paying for upgrades and gear, mostly partying or at least the ramifications of property damage when she got too rowdy.

"...But I also hear he's a bit paranoid. I don't think the locals take kindly to outsiders in general and this guy, a Togorian, is very careful of the clients he serves since I guess a lot of them in the past are the type to try and tie up loose ends." The ship landed safely atop one of the hills. Drali got out of her seat, resuming trying to make bubbles with her gum as she made her way to the cargo hold.

After she got to the cargo hold she mounted her 88 V ranger. Drali looked over her shoulder to see if Vesna was following. There was enough space for her on her bike if she wanted to just take the one. Then again she may have preferred to go alone. Technically the two of them could also just walk to the nearby town where this smuggler was located. It actually did look like a rather nice day so she was torn between driving on a gorgeous day or taking a stroll.

The woman held out some fruity gum for her to have a piece and Vesna waved her hand, trying not to give a disgusted look, she really preferred peppermints. She didn't like the idea of having to go through a smuggler in order to get to a world, they were Sith after all, and she was a Drast, didn't people, let alone Wookiees know they had the right to be where ever they wanted. Her thoughts grumbled in disapproval as she tuned back in to Drali's explanation as who they were going to meet; uncertain of what credits were required, she wished she had known, she could have gathered some of her allowance to help, she was going to get something out of this game too.

Vesna sighed when they landed, looking at the vast amount of nothing that lied before them and followed the woman to the speeder and climbed on, feeling incredibly awkward to how close she was to her cousin's bff and hoped her cousin just understood that Drali was just helping her, and she wouldn't ever interfere with their thing. Settled in, she nodded to herself, uncertain of what to expect, she was never the type of girl who rode around on open air speeders such as this one, more like taking classic speeders and watching her bae's race them on the roads behind the packaging factories. Then of course came copious amounts of drinking and sneaking back home knowing very well your father heard you and there would be a consequence in the morning.

The girl, lost in her own thoughts sighed and gripped onto the overhead handle, "OK, lets go meet this guy." she said, her own senses reaching out to make sure no trouble laid ahead for them.

Watching and waiting for the delayed response from Vesna, Drali's pleasant smile increased a bit when the girl finally pushed past her hesitation and got onto the speeder. "Your arms will prolly get tired like that. You might want to hold on tight." Her pleasant smile turned into a more meschevious grin as she hit the accelerator and took off towards the town.

The ground raced beneath them and her ship was soon becoming a small image behind them. What would probably have been a thirty to forty five minute walk was cut down to just a few minutes as the two Sith came to the outskirts of the town. Drali slowed the vehicle down to a simple cruise and guided it down the wide streets. The oraganization of the town reminded her of a larger version of the towns in classic gunslinger holo-dramas. Usually they were just one 'road' that wen straight through the town but this was a bit bigger than that. This place was a fraction of the size of Mos Eisly on Tatooine but it reminded her of it somewhat.

"Now if I was a smuggler I think I'd be spending my freetime in a cantina." Of course for a paranoid smuggler that might not be the case but at least the two of them would be able to ask around. However as the Deucalian kept an eye out for any signage indicating a cantina she noticed the local Togorians staring at them. It seemed the planet did not get a lot of outsiders. "See anything that looks like a bar Vesi?"

The town was small and Vesna grimaced, thinking of the type of people who liked to hang out in places like this. She quickly caught herself before Zandrali could see the look of disgust on her face as she climbed off the speeder, looking around the area. The woman spoke and Vesna raised her eyebrows, "Smugglers can probably be doing something better than sitting around in cantinas." mumbled the teen, clearly naive to the workings of the underworld of the galaxy. Vesna inhaled deeply and quickly took another glance around, her eyes falling on a particular cantina with glowing twi'lek girls, "Classy..." she mumbled and looked at Drali.

"You want to start there, certainly no place I would hang, but maybe our smuggler would be there." she said gaining a head start, weaving between the stacks of crates, carelessly left around as though they had no other place to store them. Vesna was clearly out of her comfort zone as she hesitated for a moment in front of the cantina's entrance, her nerves biting at her as she took a deep breath. She went to step inside and was nearly trampled by drunk pilots, finished with their fill and pushing Vesna out of the way and into the dirt as they laughed.

Vesna, absolutely appalled, grasped tightly to handfuls of dirt, muttering curses under her breath, but there was a new sense of determination as she went inside, not bothering to wait for Drali to say anything to her.

Vesna's tone made it known she did not approve of the rural and seedy ambiance of the small town. "You're probably right but they are criminals after all. It's not like they are good examples of contributing members of society." Day drinking and gambling was probably all they really tended to do in their free time. Come to think of it Drali had never seen a smuggler anywhere other than a cantina, not even in an actual ship hangar.

Following after the smaller Sith, Drali's way was slightly parted by Vesna and gave the other patrons time to not get shouldered by the broader Deucalian. One though managed to shove Vesna to the ground, her small frame quickly put off balance by the drunkard. "Hey!" The woman scowled the man that had done so and grabbed him by the shoulder, turning him around to look at the petite Sith he had just pushed. "When you accidentally bump into someone you say you're sorry."

A moment passed as one of the other patrons, unaffiliated with the drunkard but still curious, looked between the confrontational woman and the gruff local. Finally the inebriated individual shrugged off her hand and looked her up and down like she was spouting some weird tongue. "Yeah well maybe I didn't do it accidentally" The differently colored eyes belonging to Drali narrowed, giving him a moment to reconsider what he had just said but nothing changed. "Then that means you intentionally assualted my friend. I don't like it when people do that." With a swift left handed uppercut she struck the man's jaw hard enough so that his feet left the ground before he fell back and slammed into a stack of crates. If the punch had not been hard enough the shock boxing glove without limiters would keep him unconscious. "ᚾᛖᛪᛏ ᛏᛁᛗᛖ ᚨᛈᛟᛚᛟᚷᛁᛉᛖ"

Turning away from the heap of human scum her expression returned to the pleasant expression she normally had. "Lemme by you a drink." A smile grew on her face as she ushered Vesna towards the bar. "One ale for me and whatever she's having." The bartender looked at the tall Deucalian for a moment and then at the body behind her and just shrugged. This was the type of bar where if you got knocked out for not backing up your bark then you just got what was coming to you. "coming right up."

Vesna paused as the situation escalated before the teen acolyte entered the bar, her face of anger and disgust turned into bordom, but there was a curious look in her eye as to how Zandrali would handle this. The guy seemed unmoved by the woman, in face he seemed unmoved that women were even present; his response was not satisfactory and it seemed like without effort, the woman hooked the guys' jaw hard enough to knock teeth from his mouth. The force of the punch sent him stumbling in crates, and Vesna felt her jaw agape. Quickly catching herself, she recomposed her facade and followed the warrior inside as they ordered drinks.

"I..uh, I'll take an ale too..." she said still shocked by the power behind the punch; she looked down at her own hands and squeezed them into fists, her thoughts reflecting on what she just saw and what she had been told growing up. The bar tender returned with two ales, but Vesna didn't touch her drink and instead looked at Zandrali.

"That was really cool, you hit him hard, like the strength of a gundark!" she hissed in excitement, trying not to draw too much attention to themselves, there were some guys in there that made her uneasy with their stares. Vesna leaned in closer to Zandrali, and looked down at her own hands, her fingers still curled into fists until she relaxed them. "I never thought any woman could hit so hard, my father said, I would never be able to hit as hard as any guy so I needed to find my strengths elsewhere."

The teen picked up the glass and took a sip, finding the taste of the drink familiar to sourdough breads of the old southern Serenno villas. She could not say she disliked it, but it was different. "So is our person here?" she asked.

Hearing the praise from her younger companion smile. "Aww your really think so?" She said like she was some college girl who had been complimented on her outfit by a fellow girl friend. She brought up a tattooed bicep and eyed it with the smile, flexing it a little before dropping it down again.

Her eyes were brought away from her own body though as Vesna got closer. Drali's eyes squinted a little at hearing the young woman's words. "You do have strengths that are not muscles. He is right about that. But if you want to be strong with your body like me, I believe you could make it happen. Don't let your old man tell you what you can and can't do." She nudged her playfully with her hip a little, adding a chuckle to the action. Men telling women what to do never sat right with her, even if it was her father trying to encourage Vesna to focus on her natural affinity rather than something like physical might.

"I could show you some of my work out routine if you want some time." She offered but a moment later her eyes caught movement from across the bar. The Togorian they were looking for was looking right at her. She stared back at him but he seemed to get up and head for the back door. "I think I see our guy." She gestured with her chin before taking a long swig of her drink and slamming it down on the bar. Skirting the rest of the crowd she headed towards the back door after the man.
