As soon as her lightsaber made contact Dasi knew she had made a mistake. Her fellow Padawan had never even bothered to activate their lightsaber, she hadn't even bothered to try to dodge it. Dasi immediately deactivated her lightsaber and moved to help Althea up. "I'm sorry, I didn't think you'd just take the hit." As the Watchman ordered her back to her corner Dasi felt apprehension. She should have noticed the other Padawan wasn't ready or willing before she attacked. She disliked fighting, she didn't want to hurt anyone, she was willing to defend herself and the Order had taught her the best way to defend but this was the unfortunate result of learning to fight. Hurting others.
She heard a somewhat more reassuring sound. The familiar whine of one of the training drones. She actually didn't mind these. When she first arrived at the temple and they had begun teaching the new initiates to block them she had actually had an advantage. She already couldn't see, so she hadn't had to rely on blocking without a primary sense in the first place. She had still done just as horribly as the others but at least she hadn't been complaining about not being able to see.
The training drone began orbiting her, the unreadable orb floating there, somehow menacingly for something so simple. Before the drone even fired Dasi's lightsaber was on and moving to block the bolt. Another bolt was fired and she moved to dodge it instead of relying on moving her lightsaber. Technically most people wanted her to block all of them but she felt dodging was just as effective, she just had to be aware that there wasn't anyone else the bolt would hit. Another bolt that she moved to properly block, then another. She was rather surprised that the Watchman would have her do this. Blocking the training drones had almost been a daily ritual.
