By "better than Jedi" he meant in terms of lethality. He means that his group would be trained to eliminate a target, using mundane weapons for secrecy while striking with the heightened reflexes of a Jedi. So they wouldn't have all of the Force powers or be able to match a Jedi toe-to-toe, but in covert ops and assassination, they would be ahead.

If this is what he meant, as a pose to what he said, then I like it. Obviously, a trained force stealther (thinking bogan assassin for example) would out stealth, methinks?

I reread the original post instead of the bit below, and thats what it seems to be getting at. "Win no natter the odds" is a little much, but apart from that cool.

The Jedi wouldn't be very happy, and they'd know. Think about it, hardest missions in the galaxy... We'll send a Jedi! Oh wait, what's this elite commando team of force sensitives doing here too? Question asking follows. OOC, the admins (from my experience - admittedly little) try to keep things from not getting overpowered, and this faction (in its current form) certainly has that potential moreso than the Jedi or the bogan if it's characters are better.

What I'm saying is that you don't have to be better than the best fighters in the galaxy to be the best in the rest of the republic by far. The Jedi (collective) have always been the best in starwars, and I for one think it should stay that way.

Thinking about it...
It could even set off an "arms race" between the two factions, training their forces harder and harder until both factions collapse. Or, if the republic refuses to tell the Jedi what's up with the new faction, it could start bad feelings and infighting, potentially setting the Jedi against the republic.

Those are actually pretty cool plot points. If this faction had its problems thoroughly ironed out, I might even make a character.

I think the republic should have a black ops unit. Maybe just a part of S13 but they need a unit that can go in. Get the job done. Blow some stuff up. Get out. Like RepComs (Clone Commandos).
