Not to sound rude, but which is more fair:
--Taking out another PC in just 1 post (per enemy PC) or
--Avoiding an attack, without counterattacking or even attaining any sort of advantage except for temporary cover.

As I was trying to explain, after the first shot, Zorin became more alert and quickly ran to cover before the other shots could hit him. It's not that complicated or powerful of a move and I'm not sure why you take issue with it.

Now, if he had done that and then deflected all of the blasts back at you, or Force leaped to the other roof to attack or something, I would understand, but Zorin remains on the defensive.

Ruling: Zorin gets shot in the back with the pulse-wave rifle shot causing extensive and fatal damage on the molecular level. Zorin dies. He took absolutely zero actions to avoid or defend against a pulse-wave rifle blast from 15 meters away. Something like that can't just be hand-waved into a miss, and singing robes doesn't count.
