Param did as Cyu instructed, though she already knew how to call upon Force Lightning at will. She'd saved Master Thel's butt with it, in fact. Not that it was the strongest memory she had. She thought back through the events since killing her own slaver and freeing herself. So much had happened, it felt like a lifetime of memories to choose from. One in particular stuck out; one in particular was a pillar of darkness in her sub-conscious. On good days it haunted her, and on bad days it reigned supreme.

She was back on Nar Shaddaa, and Kodi was just about to shoot to win her a prize. Her first fair, her first cotton candy, her first real date that wasn't a nexu and rat game to secure a holocron. It was perfect, it should have been perfect. Then someone bumped him, and the shot went into a Gamorrean's eye. Then Kodi got punched into the next stall. Anger coursed through Param like a flood overtaking a river. In that anger, she killed the Gamorrean, ruining the fair. That wasn't the worst, though. The worst feeling was when she turned to help Kodi, he was terrified of her. He didn't let her touch him, or talk to him; he just ran away, terror lacing his eye.

When Param opened her eyes, they were practically shining a golden yellow. What was released from her fingers into the rocks was like a concentrated storm. She poured every bit of that anger and lament into it. A couple of the rocks fused together, their sand coating turning to glass and sticking to each other. Some of the rocks cracked and splintered. By the end, only the largest of the rocks in Param's pile seemed to have not been effected.

Param's expression after the memory was deadpan. It was the one thing she wished she'd never had to see again. Yet everything she did seemed to pull her deeper into being what Kodi saw that night. She wouldn't cry, not in front of the boy; the destroyer of gardens. No, she fought the tears back successfully, though her eyes glazed over with them.

S’kenji watched Param successfully release lightning on the pile of rock, resulting in some of them even getting melted in the process. Seeing how powerful she was for an Acolyte made his admiration for the Echani grow and he decided to find a way to enter in good terms with her.

Once she finished, it was the Fiani’s turn. He approached a pile of rocks and closed his eyes, trying to think in a memory that could give him the power to unleash lightning. Differently of Vour, he still didn’t have many experiences on the field, so the Acolyte ended up needing to search deep on his memories.

He focused on the ones surrounding his family, how they forced him to be something that he didn’t want, how his stepmother was cold at him when they first met and how he was forced to wear a fake smile during all these moments. He hated it! He hated all of them!

Using this hate to fuel his power, S’kenji stretched his hands toward the rocks and unleashed a bolt of lightning at them. It exploded when hitting the pile of rocks, making some of the smaller ones fly in several directions. He tired again, and another bolt left his hands with the same result, making some more peebles to fly away.

He would need to train more if he wanted to reach Param’s level.

Cyutadakyr watched in silence as the two Acolytes worked their magic, with both eventually succeeding but neither choosing to answer the lesson's question.

The Sith code, which they all knew, made it clear why.

Through Passion, I gain Strength

"Acolyte Vour." Cyu could sense the depth of emotion that tolled behind the veil, the tumultuous burden of a survivor betwixt worlds, a woman caught in a vice between her choices. "What is your conclusion and why?" She calmly asked, with a hint of concern buried within her stare that only she would see.

"Acolyte Kenji." Next she would turn to the second. There was certainly a strong emotion behind his application, a strength of will and connection. Although, to properly utilise this emotion would require further training and of course delving into where it was rooted. "What is your conclusion and why?" She likewise calmly asked.

Param was broken out of her thoughts, her sanctuary of feelings that provided a refuge from the galaxy as a whole. Her silver eyes turned upward toward Cyu. Once again she was torn between two worlds, two ways of life, two desires. She couldn't shake the oppressive hierarchy, and the unwavering duty of the Sith Order. Her lips tightened.

"Emotion fuels the Force. Putting more emotion behind the Force will make it more powerful," she said, the bubbly tone gone from her voice. Right. This was work; and it being work she didn't want to reveal just what she had been remembering to elicit enough emotion to melt rocks with lightning. Despite this, her internal thought made her frown.

"I thought about something that I hated," she said. It wasn't a lie. She did hate that night. It was supposed to be perfect, and she somehow managed to ruin it. "And it made my lightning more powerful."

S’kenji watched Param answer Cyutadakyr’s question. He agreed with what she said. It was emotion that increased their power in the Force. The more feeling they put on it, the stronger they would be. It was exactly because of it that the Acolyte was capable of delivering a powerful kick during their combat training. He had used his pain to increase his strength.

Yes.” he said, after Vour finished with her explanation. “It’s our emotions that give us power.” he turned to look at the pile where he had used the lightning. “I also thought about something that I hate, but it wasn’t enough.” most of the rocks were still intact. “I need to find memories that are capable of giving me more hate.”

The whistling of the wind shot across behind the group, a thematic event if there ever was one, while the pureblood considered their answers.

"Correct." She answered bluntly, and with precision.

Toppling the remaining stones, she raised the large obstinate rock that evaded the Echani's attack and began applying pressure, ever so softly across its horizon.

With no visible weapons on her belt, it was a mystery that she unravelled before them to solve. "Last lesson for today, Acolytes. Make me yield." She watched carefully, judging their decisions and method, wondering if they would solve the final riddle or succumb to the inevitable.

Make her yield? Several options played through her mind. Was she asking them to fight her? Param's face lost any emotion it had. Is this everything the Sith was? Fighting each other? Is this what she had to look forward to? Having to fight other Sith, having to fight her friends and the people she cares about? No, she refused. Destroying a precious flower was one thing. Fighting in a garden was one thing. But blindly fighting their own was just stupid.

What would Master Thel do?

Param waved her hand, the Force bubbling up. The only emotion fueling it was a sickening rage of disgust. The tendrils of the Force shot forward and into the rock, severing in half the rest of the way. The job Cyu was trying to accomplish was done, and thus she was yielded. If she wanted more than that from Param, she would be left wanting. Param lowered an apathetic gaze to the red dirt.
