With three full bags of loot in the back of the speeder, the trio of Mandalorians arrived at their hangar without the expected fanfare of high speed and sirens. They had pulled off a remarkably succesful heist and Shere was really proud of his rag-tag crew of Mandalorians, seeing the mess they managed to make of Nar Shaddaa in their short visit. The only problem was the planet-wide black-out.

Yes.. you read that right. As they sped through the districts of upper Shaddaa, Shere noticed that HoloNet live-feeds went dark and the lights showing the speeder-lanes died, all of them, in an instant. "This isn't good-" the Cathar complained and as the speeder came to a stop he was the first to open his door, "-we gotta get offworld now."

It wasn't even a second later when his durasteel door disintegrated. At his one o-clock he saw a faint figure stepping back into cover and Shere's hair, all of it, freaked out and stood upright as the robbercat quickly dashed from the vehicle and behind a crate of foodstuffs they meant to take on board for their journey back to kashyyyk. "HIIIIDE!!!" he cried as he drew his R-5 blaster pistol, having forgotten his light repeater inside the speeder. Whoever had just taken a shot at him and missed had used a disruptor to do so and that freaked him out beyong belief.

They were getting ambushed in their own hangar by an unknown number of enemies of an unknown affiliation and wielding without a doubt the scariest weapons out there. Shere almost wished he had been captured by the Sector Rangers instead, for whoever this was, it was much much scarier. The only luck they had was that with the unplanned planet-wide black-out their enemies had a harder time executing their ambush the way they planned, offering the Mandalorians the smallest of opportunities to try and turn the tide of battle in their favor.

One thing that people do not come to learn is the weight of credits let alone the bulkiness of taking everybody's wallet and valuables like wrist chronos and jewelry. But even with his red right hand he was able to lift it and still wield his weapon as necessary. He had put the back as a sling over he back on the outside of his jetpack so he had his hands free and not look like an obvious robber with a giant money bag with the credit sign on the outside like in classic holo flicks.

One struggle with being a big guy was the inconvenience of getting out of vehicles meant for normal sized people. Door ways had to be manuevered carefully and low surfaces caused quite a few unpleasant bonks over the years. As he got one foot out of the door of the speeder he heard a sound unlike any he had heard before. Whatever it was he certainly was keen to react with appropriate force to be on the safe side.

Raising his deck sweeper towards the direction the shot had come from he caught the glimpse of a dark figure to his left. He fired off shots in the figures direction. He had a side arm in his hand but Burkhart was trying to not give him time to use it. The hail of shots seemed to make it hard for the being to hit Burkhart. Instead the disruptor shot hit the speeder door on his side of the vehicle just like it had on Shere's side. Only one of the light bolts hit the assassin in the body making him take cover again.

From the glimpse of his oponent they were wearing ruffian armor ( With dart launchers ) and armed with disruptors. The Kelborn Alor quickly moved behind the speeder to have the vehicle between him and the enemy and not just a flimsy door. "I count two!" He said to keep his comrades informed.

Diocletian pulled into parking for the hangar where their ships were berthed. He too was more than a little freaked out by the planet wide blackout. They had appeared to get away without any issue and then the lights had gone out. The news services were no help, they were all spouting the Hutt party line, be calm, all is well, power will be returned shortly. Dio stopped in the parking spot and Shere started to exit the car when his door disappeared.

Dio started to scramble away from the shot, just as Burkhart opened up on the other side of the car. Abruptly the car was hit again, and the other door disappeared. Two seconds later and Dio might have lost a hand. Dio rolled out of the car and tried to get to cover, he was able to roll out of the car and then changed direction, taking him back under the car. He was in cover somewhat, but his mobility was shot. He would have to move again before he could engage at all. His Shriek-Hawk was in the car still so all he had was his bandoleer of grenades, his Strill blaster and his vibro knife.

Reaching down, Dio pulled his pistol and aimed it towards the area where Burk was firing. He had not seen either of their attackers as yet. As Burk called out that he had seen two, Dio’s time with Sulla kicked in and he recalled a fact about Imperial Assassin teams. As the light bulb went on above his helmet, he called over the comms, “Imperial teams are in threes, if you see two that means the third is somewhere around here!” Dio started tracking under the car, his head moving back and forth looking for feet or the tell-tale signs of boots on concrete to help find that third Imperial.

From his temporary cover, Shere tried to find whoever took a shot at them and soon he saw one of them behind him, from a position that his cover did not protect him, but it didn't look like the assassin saw Shere. He also spotted another in his periphal vision, on the other side of the speeder. Unfortunately when he tried to peek up from cover to search for the one that had taken that first shot at him he was quickly suppressed with blaster bolts. It seemed disruptors weren't their only weapons and with Shere being suppressed he also couldn't move to get out of cover from the other assassin, which put him in a difficult spot.

He couldn't wait for the assassin to spot him, so Shere aimed his pistol and shot twice. The first shot went wide, painfully alerting the assassin to Shere's presence and while the second hit him in the shoulder it wasn't enough to stop him from returning fire with the disruptor. But he missed and by shooting alerted Dio (@Critas) of his presence and location.

Burkhart cursed and not softly. It was a harsh and gutteral bark of a swear after he heard Dio's claim. He was angry mostly because he did not see where this third assailant was. Taking a few quick breaths he hyperventelated and then bolted to his left and make it so the corner the assassin was hiding behind would be a straight shot down the alley way. He would run so his right side was facing the assassin firing on him. He figured the man was not able to hit him right away with the disruptor. But a few shots peppered a meter or so behind him as he moved. The assassin did not compensate and lead his shots, instead firing where Burkhart was instead of where he would be. While it was bad news for the Imperial Agent it was going to save the Morling some pain.

As he pied off the corner at high speed her pointed his light repeater one handed. He did not fire right away but dropped into a slide and brought his left hand over to a stabalize the shot. Gritting his canine teeth he pulled the trigger letting forth a torrent of shots toward the man. A full burst struck the man's torso perforating his body with bolts of high energy. The Alor of clan Kelborn quickly moved into cover and began searching for the third assassin already known. He began debating to make a break for the corpse of the assassin now that his disruptor lay there without a living owner. Burkhart was certain he could make good use of it.

Diocletian looked out from under the speeder and slid backwards on his stomach. He rose behind the speeder and started to scan for the third assassin. He sighted the one that was engaged with Shere and decided to finish that fight so it would be a three on one. Maybe the third assassin would make a break for it, then again maybe not.

Dio raised his bowcaster and fired a single bolt at the assassin that was engaged with Shere. He waited patiently until the assassin had risen from cover, his attention on the form of Shere. The bolt took him square in the chest, the heavy weapon blowing a hole clean through the assassin. Dio allowed the bowcaster to drop and hang by its two-point harness. He grabbed his Shriek-Hawk where it hung from its own harness and raised it to the high ready.

Dio started to scan as the battle went strangely quiet. Two of their ambushing Imperial friends were down but there was still at least one out there he was sure. There was something odd about the battle pattern of the other two. They left a hole in the right flank where a third shooter should have been. Dio started to circle the speeder, keeping it between where he believed the third shooter to be. He didn’t like this but figured that the third assassin was hunkered down. There were several options available to the Mandalorian crew, dig him out or wait him out. Dio was sure, the minute they ran, he would show himself.

Keying the internal comms between them, Dio said “Shere, follow my lead on this, Burk target their right flank, gonna see if I can flush out our bird.” Dio straightened as if he no longer needed to be behind cover. He turned and walked towards Shere as if the battle was over. “Lets get out of here Shere, Burk is done for, it’s just you and me and we got all of them.” Dio said this out loud in a voice loud enough for the man to hear from his hiding spot. It was a gamble sure, but he knew Burk would be alert and burn down the third assassin before he got off a shot. He had literally bet his life on it.

Shere was saved from another disrupter shot coming his way by Dio, who downed the assassin expertly with his bowcaster. By now he realized that the other assassin he was aware of was taken down by Burkhart, which left only the one that he had no clue where he was positioned or at which of the three robbers he was looking at. Luckily, Shere didn't need to think of a plan himself as Dio took charge of the situation..by standing upright and walking towards the Cathar. "Don't forget the loot-" the would-be-Mandalorian replied, trying his best to seem casual. "Shame of the dog, though-" Shere would probably have been indifferent if Burkhart had actually kicked the bucket, but he had to sell it to the assassin.

Now rising from his own cover and turning towards Dio, Shere prayed to all the Cathar Gods he never believed in that Burkhart and his fake arm had magnificent aim and reflexes. "-but you can't afford to be slow in our business."

The two of them stood right in the open when the third assassin lined himself up for the shot, revealing himself to Burkhart, but the latter only had a moment to act before the lives of his companions were subject to the roll of a dice. And this wasn't the kind of dice Shere won all his childhood gambles with.. it wasn't weighted..

Checking the body he picked up the blaster pistol the assassin had been using but then realized it wasw the normal blaster. He quickly put it down and picked up the other sidearm. He looked it over quickly and confirmed it was the disruptor. He would not use it though, instead putting it in his belt quickly, making sure it was safe to carry. While he was confident its distructive capabilities would eliminate the enemy he was not familiar with it and he was not about to rely on a weapon he had just taken off the body of an enemy when it was more than his own life banking on it.

When Dio made the call he was already deeper into the enemy's former formation but would go even further and follow the opening that had yet to show an enemy. It was where he predicted the third man to be. He was in the blind side position. He stayed as low as he could, even though he was two meters tall it helped and softened his steps. He did not really hear what the two other mandalorians were saying. The only reason he was listening partially was to hear the queue that perhaps the assassin would take advantage of.

Sure enough the man revealed himself. Clad in similar outfit as the other two he brought his weapon around. With his light repeater at the ready he depressed the trigger and hosed the last remaining assasin with half a dozen light blaster bolts. Shots riddled the man, making him jerk with each shot before dropping back without firing a shot himself.

Diocletian walked towards Shere, trusting his life to Burkhart. He knew that the final assassin was at that moment most likely sizing up he and the Cathar for kill shots. There would be nothing he and the other Mandalorian could do but dwindle to dust as they were disintegrated. It would be a rather ignoble end to a fairly successful career for Dio, should it happen. He would miss his family and his son would not get his armor, it was a tough pull to swallow but Dio had faith in Burk, if anyone would get the assassin, the Morling would. Other than the deceased Wyatt, Burk was probably the Solus that Dio had fought along side the most.

Dio heard the light repeater firing and hope that it spelled the death of the final assassin. He knew the Imperials were toting Disrupters, so it made sense that any other real fire had been the death of one of them. Turning towards the sound, he saw the Imperial where he had risen from cover, just as the light repeater shots shredded the man. He saw the fully charged disrupter fall limply from the man’s grip as Burkhart did as Dio predicted and ended the threat. Dio could not help but sigh, realizing that he had been holding his breath that entire time.

Dio made his way over to one of the other deceased assassins and pulled the Disruptor pistol from his cold dead hand. He checked the action on the pistol before sliding it into his belt with the safety on. It never hurt to be just a tad safer than usual with a weapon such as this. It made him smile when he considered how safe he was being with the weapon after having just put his back to one. He was tired and ready to bug out of this job, he wanted to get home and kiss his wife. There are times in every man’s life when that’s really all you need.

The unmistaken sound of blasterfire made Shere's hair stand upright, again, but when he heard a body drop that wasn't his or Dio's the stress visibly disappeared from his shoulders. "Remind me to never doubt a Jaig-eyed Field Marshall again," the Cathar joked as he, too, approached one of the dead assassins and took its disrupter pistol from its lifeless hand. Going to Nar Shaddaa for a string of robberies had been his idea, to wreak some havoc as an emotional revenge to the Hutts that once employed him to do the same to other organizations. Now he did it to do them, or more specifically, to their Imperial masters, and it felt great. Burkhart had lossed an arm because of it, but the loot, including these disruptor pistols and the lightsabers had been magnificient.

Shere walked back to their speeder and recovered the bag of loot, slinging it over his shoulder with some difficulty - for it had become heavy. "Burk-" he eyed the heavy bag of loot Burkhart had taken from the Room of Mask's safe and shook his head, that bag was easily three times the weight of his own.. "-nevermind-" he eyes searched and found Dio's bag, which was about the same weight as that of his own, "Dio, get the ship ready please. We'll take your stuff onboard."

About thirty minutes later they took off and left Nar Shaddaa a little worse than how they found it a week ago. The power was still out on most of the planet and Shere had a feeling that soon Raz would order them down there again to capitalize on Imperial control slipping over the region. Somehow it prided him that by providing a.. diversion.. with their antics they might've ..somehow.. helped trigger the events that would unfold on the Smuggler's Moon.

First, the three badgers would set course to Kashyyyk for some well-deserved R&R.
