Alaris- Kashyyyk System

Hidden below the dark atmosphere of the barren planet, a small military base sat nestled in a canyon, invisible by standard search protocols. Jutting from the rocks were a half dozen planetary turbolasers, and suspended via countless cables rested the Trandoshan Military Outpost, running at full efficiency. It was one of a handful of bases across the sector, and certainly the largest on planet... The perfect place for shuttles to slip in undetected.

Tetin Hisro stood tall in the main hangar of the relatively simple base, considering the situation of his under-siege Trandosha. Upon executive orders he had put out an intergalactic call for warriors of all shapes, sizes, and skill levels to liberate his temporary homeland from the newly formed Onderonian blockade... Today was the first few shuttles of potential recruits, along with his own personal starfighter from Dubrillian, sitting no more than ten meters away in the cramped hangar. His compliment was small, no more than a couple squadrons of old starfighters and transports, but it would have to do.

Tetin was dressed in the crisp formal military attire of higher rank- he hadn't been officially enlisted as of yet, but a human commander left a better first impression than a Trandoshan, he insisted. Although powerful, they weren't the most likable species in the galaxy. He shook off his thoughts as the powerful roar of the troop transports filled the hangar and three large shuttles touched down. His second in command stepped next to him, reptilian tongue flicking in and out. He shuddered a little and sat at a long, formal desk to process the new recruits.

"Please step forward to enlist." A soothing voice said over the hangar's intercom. Tetin cleared his throat and flipped on his datapad, waiting to greet the future soldiers.

It was wierd to think that in these "civilized" times people like Arkham Kole were able to find work. Though it would be childish to think that if the world were to keep on going without some war or another then nothing would really change. As long as their was a war machine their would need to be blood to lubricate the workings. Ark had served in numerous military groups, unofficially of course, and if he had to rate this facility among the other recruitment stations he had been to this definately wasn't the best. Though it never mattered how the stations were, the battlefield would most likely be the same.

The mercenary approached the desk and set his duffle bag down on the floor. There was a small sound of metallic objects bumbing against eachother and finally falling into place, "My name is Arkham Kole. I'm here to enlist as a mercenary in your... "fair" army."

Tetin looked up from his datapad, an eyebrow raised in annoyance. Not ten recruits in, and he already got a tough guy... Tetin had worked with his type before in his short bout with a crime syndicate on Dubrillion. Dangerous bunch- especially if they're off their leash. The impromtu commander's beliefs were reinforced as he heard the dull metal clanging from the duffel bag... He tapped the stylus on the screen. Looks like one less trooper we'll have to outfit.

"There's no reason to mock the 'fair', Kole- I intend to end this battle as bloodlessly and civilly as possible." A hissing laugh came from his subordinate, silenced with a quick glare. He shook his head, then turned back, spinning the datapad around and tossing the stylus on top.

"Fill this out please- simple medical papers so we can administer care should the worst happen, along with a few bits to better place you in our forces. Name's Tetin Hisro, by the way- got a feeling we'll be seeing quite a bit of each other before this is over."

"Fair enough," Arkham took the datapad and started to fill out all the appropriate blanks. Leaving the immediate family section blank. He made sure to check all of his writing and what he had put down. When he was completed he put the pad back down on the table and slid it to Tetin.

"I know it is irresponsible of me to ask, someone in my position should really know but what is the reason for Trandosha's army calling in recruits? I hope you will pardon me for asking, I've been out of the loop for two months or so while I was on the Rim."

Tetin shrugged and smiled slightly, leaning back in his chair.

"To be honest, I've been out of the loop as well- been out of the capital. Ships came from Onderon, and somehow there was disagreement, tension, and the very real threat of a full scale war. The natives have been scattered and hidden underground, fearing orbital bombardment... And we were ordered to come to Alaris and build a counter force to do... Something.
He stretched his arms out and straightened his uniform. He hated not having a plan, even more when he didn't have resources.

"Have any experience with squadron tactics, or are you a lone wolf?"

"You find it harder and harder to live if you exist on the battlefield as a 'lone wolf'. I'd feel much better if I had a group of men- er... lizards at my back."

It had been awhile since Arkham had fought in an army that was almost completely composed of humans. The mercenary had heard many things about the Trandoshan people and this was the first time he would be aiding their species at any capacity.

Tetin nodded, thinking similar thoughts.

"The Trandoshans are tough, that's for sure... And I'm sure with your experience," he nodded towards the datapad. "We'll be able to give you a sizeable bunch. There are quite a few of them... And hopefully when we get a foothold we'll have more."

Tetin got a nod. The mercenary picked up his bag and hefted back onto his shoulders. He wondered if the batch he would be leading was going to be comprised of other mercs or Trandos. Would the lizards follow a man who had no real stake in this war aside from a pay check?

"So... where do you want me start?"
