Back in the 1980's, the American CIA was arming the Taliban and other Afghan forces as they fought a guerrilla war against the Soviets. We provided them with tons of stinger missiles that they used to shoot down many Soviet helicopters.

Xyrael was stating that it would be very ironic if the Chinese were supplying the Taliban with missiles to shoot down our helicopters after we did the same to the Soviets.

That's not really true. The Taliban are a specific group with specific goals that go beyond just repelling American forces from Afghanistan.
