Description: The AT-RT was designed to fulfill a number of functions and be proficient at all of them that fall into its wheelhouse. First and foremost, it was built by the Jedi as a vehicle that their patrol forces could use on Jedi-controlled worlds to maintain peace in urban centers. Their second, and probably most obvious use, is on the battlefield as an anti-infantry vehicle and, as its name would imply, a reconnaissance craft. The relatively small footprint and general quietness of the AT-RT make it impeccable at getting across enemy lines swiftly and safely.
Given its multitude of uses, the AT-RT has been commissioned with several possible loud-outs for its front facing weaponry. It was important for the Jedi to have at least one non-lethal variant, and this comes in the form of the Riot Control variant of the AT-RT. This variant uses powerful pressure hoses instead of a blaster and is capable of launching man-sized nets.
The battlefield load-out of the AT-RT comes equipped with a heavy repeating blaster canon on the front, capable of firing at full-auto or two round burst for more precise firing. This model also comes equipped with a mortar launcher capable of firing a thermal detonator sized explosive up to one hundred meters. The mortar shell has a blast radius of five meters and operates similarly to the more standard thermal detonator.
The armor of the AT-RT is considered medium grade and therefore can withstand several blaster shots from low-grade weaponry and one to two shots from heavy blaster weaponry. The AT-RT is vulnerable to explosives and EMPs. To give an added layer of protection to the driver, the AT-RT is capable of producing a kinetic shield in the front that can prevent major damage to the driver and to the vehicle itself. It takes extra power to use this shield, which is manually activated by the pilot, and prolonged use can extensively drain the fuel cells.
The AT-RT can reach a top speed of 90kmph over flat ground. Given its purposefully lighter weight, the vehicle can also vertically leap around 8m and long jumps with running starts have been measured around 10m consistently.
