heh
America is goin down.....
Parachutes anyone? I have alot.

You have more power than you realize. Which is the one message I would want to get out if I were running for President.

If you don't like either candidate, don't accept it, vocalize it and do something about it. Every single one of us has the intelligence to understand politics, and the capability to care about our futures. Though the elite try to decide things for you, ultimately, it's your mind that makes that decision of what to stand for.

I'm gonna try and stop talking now, or else half of the replies to this thread will be me passionately defending my beliefs on a Star Wars RP site of all places

To be honest, I think Trump is too dangerous not to vote for HIllary. Yeah, she's a crook, and yeah she's fairly incompetent, but at least she's not severely mentally unhinged, and a habitual liar who's more interested in promoting their casinos than running a country.

TBH tho if I didn't like either main candidate equally, i'd vote Garry Johnson.

The only reason why that is is because so many people have this ridiculous mentality that a third party vote is a wasted vote. Just saying.

Even a losing third party candidate, with enough votes behind him/her, is an indication of where people's interest lies. Gary Johnson hovering around the 10% mark is unprecedented.

Even tho he's not really as different as he claims to be. He's simply benefitting from not being Trump or Clinton.

If I vote, I may vote Trump, just to keep Clinton out of office.

My lord please do not. That is no reason to vote that literal piece of human garbage into the strongest political office on the face of the earth.

I may be from England but it seems you've got a really bad choice. If I were in America I'd certainly not vote for Donald Trump. I mean America pretty much leads many things in the modern day world and imagine Donald Trump running it.

America is toast, no matter which way it goes. Simply because the Nation denys God.

(Not pushing religion into topic, just saying why we are messed up.)

America started as "One Nation, Under God."
We are no longer so.

I think I need to be quiet and unfollow the thread so I don't get alerts.

Wasn't added, but that was the intention for the Nation.

Trying not to push and typing neutral statements on this topic is hard for me. Apologies in advance.

I mean, that just seems like an incredibly ignorant statement, saying that the nation is no longer good because it 'Denys God'. Not only is the nation still, primarily, christian, but that wasn't why we where founded as a nation at all. It was an issue over taxes with Great Britain that got out of hand and lead to a revolutionary war. Yes many people here where christians, but the early puritans where religious extremist, and mostly weren't around when the nation was actually founded.

I see what you mean. Thanks. I need to get off this post before it turns into a religious debate.

I'm not trying to start a political debate. As someone who identifies spiritually as an agnostic-atheist, I found your comment fairly offensive and ignorant, and not really based in any fact.

I wouldn't say America is toast. Everyone here thought we were toast but we're doing fine.

Also dangerous unless we get rid of the Electoral College. If a third party candidate got enough votes in the Electoral College, it sets up a scenario where no one gets to 270 electoral votes. That means the House of Representatives decides who the president is.

Now, let's say Gary Johnson and/or Jill Stein both got enough votes in the electoral college to prevent Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump from reaching 270.

Now let's say in that scenario that Hillary Clinton got the most amount of votes in the electoral college. 250 votes, perhaps. That means more people/states voted for Clinton than voted for any other candidate.

The House of Representatives is controlled by Republicans. Do you really think they're going to vote for Hillary, the person who got more votes?

Hillary gets the most votes. Donald becomes president.

The electoral college has gotta go if you want to be serious about third parties.
