Indeed, it is their choice. It's also their choice to try to get my friends and I in on the action as well. I've had people honestly try to convince me that drinking twice my body weight would be fun. And then there are people who are killed by drunk drivers, or people who were high, etc. People need to realize that the stupid things they do don't just affect them; it has the potential to harm other people. Celebrities who flaunt their addictions (not saying Winehouse was one of them) are just as bad.
For the record, I was already in a bad mood when I got to the Amy Winehouse thread. It is sad when someone dies, and I feel sympathy for her friends and family. There are just a lot of people at my college that do stupid things (Drinking heavily, drug use, etc), thinking they are immortal and nothing bad will happen to them. It's made me rather jaded towards anyone who does those things. That's why I'm rather cold about this whole thing. =/
