I like it. Off the top of my head, a fun locale for the foot race might be a maze that shifts and moves about. With deadly traps and hidden obstacles, of course. The whole thing sounds like a much more interesting version of that Olympic event ending in 'athalon' I always get bored of watching 'cause it isn't power-walking. (Super fun sport to watch. Cheating is encouraged and commented on by the refs lol).

There'd have to be a pretty cromulent reward for the whole thing though, what with all those players.

Nah i totally get what you mean lol, more screenplays should start with sub-orbital freefalls. It's all old-school Miltonian imagery and that one scene from Star Trek where 'Roldy sword fights goons; super cinematic. And I'm definitely down for more race/sporting events. It could be fun to throw in a second team next time, peeps to cheat and scheme and plot dastardly deeds at.

Quite agreeable...that's probably one of the few English words non-Native speakers actually know as well.

Like the relationship between Yiddish and High (standard) German. Both languages hold a lot of mutual intelligibility, when spoken of course since Yiddish is written in the Hebrew script. Of course, due to Medieval Hebrew, Aramaic and Slavic influence (among Ashkenazi Jews in Eastern Europe), many words don't register with German speakers. Of course, they simply consider it bad German.

Another thing I find interesting are the differences between Old English and the Englishes spoken today.

So I've heard, in Jamaican Patois the West African influence isn't as prominent as the Germanic and Romance influences. Kriol, as I understand it, varies from Aboriginal group to Aboriginal group and given that they haven't been exposed to the English as long as Jamaicans have, it bound to have a stronger influence even if a tribe's language is dead. Those last bits are my guess though.

The beauty of Jamaican Patois really; despite being a mostly English-derived Creole, its a nightmare to understand.

Boy, finally finished my character profile. Also posted in the Hutt Cartel sign up thread. I'm mostly happy with the character, for it being the first one I've made on a real forum RP site.
