I will. THE LEGACY OF THOSE WHO WISH HARLEY TO BE GOTHIC AND COOL MUST CONTINUE.
>gothic
>cool

Those two things can't coexist outside of the mind of a thirteen year old kid.

I thought Harley looked good.

If only her dialogue was good.

"Are you the devil?"
>licks bars
The warning signs of a bad script loom heavy on these scenes.

I'm reserving judgement. There's things that I like here, and things that make me cringe. I thought Man of Steel turned out pretty alright, even given the stark tonal difference that it used to dramatically separate from the Marvel movies, so I'll wait for more of the DCverse to come out before I start judging too heavily.

Man, you guys are pretty critical and quick to judge around here. I'm pretty optimistic right now. Suicide Squad never was a big draw for me, but I'll watch it. I liked Man of Steel and the tone DC is taking. Hope it'll be good, the trailer was fun imo

In all seriousness, I'm excited. Even if Harley's shoes are dumb, I'll still go see it.

Does Marvel actually have any villain-centric films coming out? They're usually pretty vanilla

I mean they got their civil war stuff, and there is an array of marvel movies coming, but, none that I can call off the top of my head. I grew up reading DC over Marvel, so I'm excited to see hopefully a rebirth of DC films.

None announced for the remaining Infinity arcs, but a Thunderbolts movie would have been really cool.

I started Marvel, but I wouldn't say I favor either company but I largely have been DC heavier these days. I'd be super psyched for a DC movie universe too if it weren't how bland it all looks visually and super serious it took itself.

I'm just going to post my personal Suicide Squad made up of villains from multiple universes...
Darth Traya, Fiona Goode, Bellatrix Lestrange, Dark Galadriel, Mystique, and Carol Peletier.

Now that that's over with, I'm actually really looking forward to this movie, I like the darker and more serious tones, it makes for a more of a "sit down and enjoy with a beer" type movie experience, something that is able to grab my attention and is serious enough to keep it long enough for me to get relaxed and have a good time. Man of Steel did that for me, other than Guardians of the Galaxy, the Marvel movies so far have been kinda boring to me.

EDIT: I also think this could just be an opening movie for the Joker, I'm willing to bet we'll see a Joker movie fairly soon, and I'm actually hoping the DC movies will showcase more villains as the main characters instead of the heroes, we have to much of them as it is.

It's a comic book movie. And you have to admit, Guardians of the Galaxy looked very stupid as well. Just making a point.

Difference with Guardians of the Galaxy, though, is that Marvel doesn't run away from their source material. DC does, and tries to make it ultra-realistic rather than embracing the absurdity of it all. That's why something like Guardians of the Galaxy can be so successful, because the material is treated well with an understanding that it's pretty stupid, but Suicide Squad will probably fall flat because it takes itself too seriously.

Assault on Arkham was better then Suicide Squad's trailer.

There is just nothing that interests me about this. Joker and Harleen look wrong, I didn't even notice Will Smith in this, and this doesn't even look like a Comic Book film.

I really don't mind that they are being serious with some of these things, it's how I see Batman(Save for The Joker, of course). This though...

Harley is the most interesting thing to me about this movie so far. Joker could go either way. Regardless of how he's written, I expect that Jared Leto will be very good in the role.

I learned to not compare Jokers with past Jokers. Because comparing Heath Ledger to Jack Nicholson is like comparing Jack Nicholson to Cesar Romero. All were more or less their own Jokers, and given what little I have seen, it'd be unfair to fully judge Jared Leto's Joker yet.
