DESCRIPTION​

The Vexatious-class interceptor, often referred to simply as the Vex Fighter or just the Vex, is a light starfighter manufactured by Imperial Sienar Systems - the renamed form of Republic Sienar Systems - during the Fires of Rebellion era. The standard starfighter employed by the Sith Empire during that period, the Vex was light, fast and deadly, and was produced in huge numbers.

The Vexatious-class interceptor was 14 meters in length, and was equipped with a pair of medium laser cannons, plus a 3-shot concussion missile launcher. The design incorporated no shields or even armor, which was admittedly not uncommon at the time; the single pilot was provided with an ejection seat with an integrated survival capsule. The Vex lacked a hyperdrive, but was capable of 110 MGLT, an amazing top speed for its era and still respectable in the present. It also has extremely good maneuverability even by modern standards.

Like most spacecraft of its era, and especially those built and operated by the ancient Sith, the Vexatious-class interceptor is extremely rare in the present, the majority having been destroyed in combat or intentionally scrapped after the Sith Empire's defeat. Those which exist today survive in private collections, or might have been overlooked in the bottom strata of some junk planets. They are understandably hard to acquire, and even harder to maintain given their archaic systems.
