Name: Var Dhon
Faction: Mandolorian Dominion
Rank: Commando
Species: Shistavanen from Roon
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 6'3''
Weight: 197 pounds
FORCE SENSITIVE: Nope
VOICE ACTOR: Keith Szarabajka
APPEARANCE:
latest
Standing above well above most humans and with glowing red eyes and a mouth full of sharp teeth, Var can be an intimidating sight. With the exception of his face, his entire body is covered in coarse brown fur and his two pointed ears stick out slightly cockeyed. Weirdly, his top left canine tooth is longer than the others and sticks out from his mouth even when closed. When not fighting, Var wears a simple black jacket and dark green pants along with sensible boots.

Strengths:
Shistavanen are natural predators, and Var is no exception. Compared to a human, he's much faster, stronger, and durable. His keen senses and good night vision serve him well when he's tracking a target. Combined with years of training and practice, he's quite a formidable opponent.

Weaknesses: Having lived in a backwater for much of his life, Var isn't very educated. He's not stupid by any means and is in fact fluent in three languages, but he lacks skill in anything intellectual or academic beyond reading and basic arithmetic. He's also by no means a skilled sniper. He can hit targets pretty well at pistol range, but resorts to spraying the battlefield with blaster fire past that. And for your own safety, don't let him pilot a ship in combat. He can from point A to point B alright, but attempting type of combat maneuver will cause his to crash.

PERSONALITY:
Var Dhon is nowhere near as much a loner or an isolationist as many other Shistavanen are. Due to being raised surrounded by other species, he's learned how to be friendly. That said, he can be a bit distant at times, simply nodding or shaking his head as an answer. That doesn't mean he's cold-hearted. He will gladly put his life on the line for fellow Mandalorians or those he considers a friend. He's incredibly loyal to the Mandalorians, and it would take quite a lot to shake that loyalty. He doesn't agree with everything the Mandalorians have done before, but he truly believes that the independence the Mandalorian Dominion has from both Jedi and Sith is the best thing for the galaxy.

Biography: Despite his parents being natives of Uvena Prime, Var was born on a remote farm on Roon, an oddity in a place where most people had never seen a Shistaven. From an early age, he assisted his parents on their small farm and ran freely through the nearby plains. It wasn't exactly a glamorous or luxurious life, but it was a good one.

Due to the nature of farm work and his parents teachings, the importance of hard work was drilled into Var's head. Everyday he didn't work, he didn't eat. His father, a soldier for a local ruler back on Uvena Prime, also spent time everyday training the young boy both physically and in first aid. As he got older, Var became faster and stronger. While he didn't receive any formal schooling, his parents taught him to be independent, and to never accept tyranny from others. The only contact his family had with outsiders were the handful of other subsistence farmers nearby and the occasional passing trader.

Odds are that Var would never have left Roon if it were for a couple of unwelcome visitors. When he was fourteen, a damaged fighter crashed outside the farm. When Var and his family rushed out to help the pilot, the man threatened them with a red bladed lightsaber. The Sith took supplies from them and demanded that they let him stay at their for house. Having no other choice, they agreed.

Another fighter arrived a few days later, this one bearing a Jedi. At the sight of the Jedi, the Sith fled under the cover of night. Var and his family thanked the Jedi for his timely arrival. To their disgust, the Jedi also demanded supplies, albeit more politely. It wasn't a huge deal, but the event caused Var to take interest in events outside his home. He began to spend time learning about the conflict between the two and the effects it had on the galaxy. By the time he was sixteen he decided that the Sith and Jedi were equally responsible for the galactic conflict and suffering it caused. At age seventeen he had made a decision: he was going to join the Mandalorians and fight to end the the tyranny of both the Jedi and the Sith.

Var said goodbye to his parents and left for Mandalore at the age of eighteen, hitching a ride from a friendly trader. Once there, he presented himself to House Vizsla for training and threw himself into it, improving his combat skills as well as learning to speak Mando'a.

Skills:

  • Extremely gifted in close and hand to hand combat.
  • Fast and strong enough to move relatively quickly with full gear.
  • Strong mental fortitude.
  • Knows basic first aid.
  • Speaks Basic, Shistaven, and Mando'a.

@Smike, that Jedi backstory is fine. I'm not really sure why that would ruin his perception of Jedi but to each their own.

Technically, you would need Valen for Jedi and @Malon or a Sith AFL to clear the Sith parts of the story, and then either myself, @Prudence, or @Mirdala Priest to approve your character for the Dominion. Zenya can also give your character a look over and help, but since this profile has to go through 3 factions it isn't required.

I have no qualms with the Sith backstory in this character. Given the nature of the Jedi-Sith feud this timeline, I actually think its a rather interesting way for your character to become simultaneously disgusted with both sides. I agree with @Valen Pelora, that I don't necessarily see how that alone would ruin his perception of the Jedi for all time, but I can see why it might make him irritable towards them at the very least.

Thanks for the input. I think I forgot something in the bio.

EDIT: Yeah I did. Fixed the bio so it's more clear. Was there anything else?
