THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS OF THE OUTER RIM

Recruitment

The Accord has a fairly wide recruitment policy, being very open to new members and often welcoming some into its fold that some other organizations would outright reject. This is done on the faction’s principle of redemption, allowing these people a second chance to atone for whatever past atrocities they have committed.

Whenever the Accord sets up an outpost in a system, intending to perform many operations in its vicinity, they also run recruitment campaigns, allowing the general populace to join. In systems that are heavily governed or oppressed, the Accord will align itself with rebel factions, both working alongside them and often encouraging them to join the faction as well.

Clearance Levels

The Accord does not exactly operate using a traditional ranking structure, instead preferring to operate using the Clearance Level system, or CL for short. (OOC example: see Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) What this means is that certain areas of Accord facilities and files within the Accord database are set so that only people of the corresponding Clearance Level can access them.

Clearance Level 1: Most Accord NPCs are at this level. This includes most Crucible soldiers, Specter Cell agents, and Initiative scientists. These characters do not have access in-depth details about campaigns and operations, instead being given basic information about their missions. Player Characters are never at this level.

Clearance Level 2: Almost all Player Characters are at this level, and have the authority to give basic orders to those in Clearance Level 1. They have full access to most basic mission types, able to modify how a mission is carried out within reason as long as the goal is achieved. While they are allowed to carry out missions not initially directed, they must receive permission to do so first.

Clearance Level 3: Characters at this level have authority over the Clearance Levels below them, and have the ability to command up to a whole squadron of troops or pilots. They have the ability to not only change how a mission is handled, but also a mission’s directive as well as carrying out their own freelance missions as well.

Clearance Level 4: These are the highest and most influential members of the Accord, having full access to all data files and areas of the Accord, including the most top secret. Very few PCs and NPCs hold this rank. They are capable of carrying out large-scale operations of their own accord, having the permission to command entire fleets and armies.

Basic Training

No matter what species, background, or training, every new recruit to the Accord must pass through Basic Training. Though this is primarily to train newcomers for whatever position they are going to fill and ensure they are in good health, this system is also in place to enforce a sense of discipline and respect. This is especially effective for the new recruits that were previously of criminal origin or of other rebellious nature.

Equipment

The Accord does not enlist a specific set of gear to every single member; instead, it supplies each member with whatever they need for their missions they have been assigned to, emphasising each person’s specific skills in combat.

The Crucible

Concept-Art-James-Paick-Battle-Prep.jpg

THE PRIMARY FIGHTING FORCE OF THE ACCORD

The most central of the component factions of the Accord, the Mandalorian Crucible has origins reaching back into Mandalorian Culture, but didn't truly culminate in its earliest form until the conception of Clan Tsuani upwards of eight generations ago. This split occurred when Tsuani's earliest leader, Garrel Bralor, broke away from House Bralor, bringing his radical supporters and becoming an 'Aberrant Clan', or a Clan unaffiliated with a House. They lived a primarily nomadic life in the Rim, devoting themselves to battle and worship of the long forgotten deity Manda. Over the generations, their devotion died, but their volatile attitudes and disposition as raiders lived on. After several generations, the Clan settled on the planetoid Echotta in the Sharlissia system, which they began using as a permanent base for their piracy.

In the last generation of their singular existence, Clan Leader Ryzoma Tsuani began expanding their raiding operations out into the Senex-Juvex Sector, which was controlled primarily by Sullustan Merchants and Smugglers, and contained the popular Gratise Port acting as a hub for traders on the fringe of space. As raids in the area increased, the de-facto leaders of the group mobilized available ships and repelled the raids with organized patrols and decoy convoys. This lead into what would be known as the Three-Day Skirmish, a prolonged series of engagements ending with the destruction of the Tsuani Settlement on Echotta when the modified freighter Meddletome collided with the main planetside compound.

“I die, but our spirit lives in the survivors. And we do not forget quickly.”
- The last words of Ryzoma Tsuani, as recorded by Captain Liub Yot

There are no records directly following the Clan's destruction. Some reports indicate remnants of the group scattered across various systems, but these are unsubstantiated. What is known is that the core remnants of the clan were formed into the Mandalorian Crucible, a small and effective raiding group lead by Bria Tsuani, and the Marooned, a competing group lead by Kole Tsuani. The two groups fought for a time before agreeing to a trial by combat between Bria and Kole. Kole won, but spared Bria, making her his lieutenant, and the two groups merged with Kole becoming the leader, but the Crucible taken as a name both for symbolic purposes and to unite the new group under his leadership. Bria and Kole married shortly after.

Much raiding and looting took place in the following period as the new group gained momentum and remained strong through its rigorous training and brutal nature. However, during a domestic dispute between Bria and Kole, Kole was murdered in a fit of rage by Bria, who became de-facto clan leader. What followed was a distinct period of confusion. Bria, appalled by her actions, withdrew from the clan completely. In her wake, Vaugn Tigee, a charismatic and ambitious man, began to rally supporters, calling for a new clan leader. When Bria finally returned to the position of Clan Leader, now a changed woman, he had grown incredibly influential, and Bria’s orders to stop their pirating were met with outrage. Mandalorian traditionalist and supporters followed her lead, while radicals and raider elements formed into their own separatist movement, and a conflict broke out between the two sides. The separatists proved too powerful, and the loyalist fled in what ships they could take.

The Skyline Dragons

PREVIOUSLY A POWERFUL CARTEL, THE DRAGONS NOW ACT AS THE CRUCIBLE’S RENOWNED NAVAL DIVISION

The Skyline Dragons are the newest component faction of the Accord, both in the time of its creation as well as the time of its predecessor’s creation. The Skyline Dragons originally began as a group of stunt pilots, the Scarlet Angels, who performed shows on wealthy worlds in the Core. However, the group almost unanimously turned mercenary when, on a trip to the Outer Rim, they encountered a transport under attack by a pirate gunboat and managed to scare it away by bluffing that their starfighters were equipped with laser cannons. From then on, they made good money escorting convoys along dangerous trade routes, and felt they were actively making a difference instead of just acting as performers for wealthy clientele. However, a dissenting voice in the group, a man by the name of Caed, saw the other side of the coin. They saw that much money could be made from being pirates themselves. Slowly, he corrupted others, until the entire squadron was convinced of this route. They turned on their convoys and soon had a gang of their own.

With backing from various criminal enterprises, their group grew, and it wasn’t before long that most of their money was made away from direct piracy. Their direct method was through extorting outer rim worlds for anything of value using their superior naval forces. If they didn’t have anything, large portions of the populace would be enslaved and sold on the black market. All of the original pilots died rich men. But their organization lived on long after them.

THE HOME AND BIRTHPLACE OF THE ACCORD

The IKELOS Operation and Facility

Yfat3lM.jpg

WHERE OLD WARRIORS ARE REFORGED ANEW

Deep in the umbrous vaults of the Void, the late Doctor Janseek Rhaid had, in secret, unlocked a method to save a person from the sheer brink of death. This he dubbed the IKELOS Operation”.

Though initially meant as a method to build up an army of subservient, mindless cyborgs to do his bidding, this programming was entirely terminated from the process’ coding by the scientist’s rebellious servant, IG-0R, who was the man’s first attempt at such a project.

The operation is undergone as follows: a person, through a near-death experience or by voluntary choice, is placed into a mechanism (usually utilizing bacta) to keep the patient stable and to preserve their life. A series of neural implants and links are then placed, much like those used in the attachment of cybernetic limbs. This is a moderately lengthy process, depending on how much of the patient’s body is left. Then, their body is placed inside a metallic frame able to accommodate their drastic changes. This basic frame is typically smaller, and though unable to hold up under combat situations, it is extremely adaptable and can be easily connected to various additional “attachment” fames.

Combat frames, designed for IKELOS subjects to use in surface-based missions, are generally quite large, in order to accommodate for their “pilots”. Made almost entirely of metal, they are fairly versatile, and can be designed after almost any form the subject chooses. The durability of the armour will vary from frame to frame as well.
One major advantage of this form is the fact that their pilots will not be affected by pain from taking a wound in most of their body; however, this often has its downsides, and a proxy system can easily be put in place to create artificial pain in addition to artificial touch systems.
In order to protect from EMP bursts, the frame’s vital components are contained within a mesh of conductive materials.

Though ground combat is entirely possible as a subject of IKELOS, such frames are often extremely complex, and there are few benefits to undergoing the process just for this purpose. Piloting vehicles, however, is where they truly shine.

The vehicle that the subject chooses will simply have the cockpit replaced with an integrated neural feedback center, directly connected to the mechanism’s mainframe. Through this, IKELOS subjects will be able to pilot transports, tanks, and even starships with their minds, like an extension of their body. These pilots are able to “see” through external sensors placed about their chosen vessel, and can mentally direct their guns towards an opponent with a mere thought.
However, due to the complexities involved, Initiative scientists have been unable to have IKELOS subjects pilot anything larger than a gunship or heavy freighter.

The Reef

WHERE THOSE BEYOND HOPE OF REDEMPTION ARE SENT TO ROT

Located in an unassuming asteroid somewhere in the same stretch of rocks as the Void is nestled the Reef, a secret and hidden supermax prison reserved for the Accord’s most heinous criminals.

Though the faction is often renowned for its hospitality towards those of criminal roots, there are some found either in their own ranks or in their fight against the corrupt organizations of the galaxy that even the Accord cannot take in. Either through their complete obstinance and unwillingness to repent for their crimes or for their particularly gruesome or vile backgrounds, some individuals are deemed too dangerous to be let loose about the Galaxy. As such, they are shipped off to the Reef, never to be seen or heard from again.

The facility is shrouded in mystery and largely rumoured; some think it’s a laboratory of the Initiative’s maddest adherents, where prisoners are sent to be experimented on, and others believe it to be a madhouse, where even the guards are driven to insanity within months. The truth about its existence and exact whereabouts are only known to Clearance Level 4 members of the Accord. Clearance Level 3 members are merely allowed to know that it exists, though this information is not distributed lightly.

The facility is, much like the Void, a hollowed-out asteroid. To any passing stranger, it looks and behaves exactly like any other rock floating in the field. Between the rock and the compound itself lies 25 meters of layers of Alusteel, Durasteel, and Duraplast, making it extremely resistant to both energy and ion attacks from both without and within. Although the rocky exterior could potentially be broken away easily enough, it would require a great deal of focused, sustained firepower to burn through the hull.

As such, the actual prison itself is rather small. The entrance is a single, small hangar bay. Its doors are typically shut, and look exactly like the rocky surface of the asteroid when closed. The only way to open the hangar is to broadcast a short-range password signal to the prison. On the inside of the hangar bay is a small tractor beam, designed to align the incoming ship properly, as there is no internal lighting that activates until the doors are shut. The hangar bay is only large enough to house a single medium freighter, and is equipped with six turreted dual-laser cannons.

Each prisoner is contained in a small, one-person cell, each containing a single bed and bathroom, all of which are made of thick, solid duraplast and fastened to the floor. Each cell’s entrance is a double blast door of the same materials, and there are no windows. The cells are set side by side in long hallways of ten, the walls completely soundproof. At each end of the hallway attached to the ceiling are two dual-laser turrets, with two more spaced out closer to the middle. The prisoners are fed a set amount of rations twice a day, and are never let outside of their cell. The inner workings of the prison are automated by a robust system, and if any slight malfunctions do occur, then armed utility droids stand by to fix the problem. The facility puts out an absolute minimum amount of power to keep the systems running and the prisoners alive, and never broadcasts any signals or communication of any kind.

Inside the compound is a very large storage room, filled with fuel and supplies able to last up to six months. At the end of this six-month period, a single freighter loaded with supplies is sent out secretly to re-stock the prison, and the password to gain entry is reset after each trip.

Loureaux Medical Center

lab_1_POST_large.jpg

WHERE PEOPLE IN NEED ARE GIVEN THE TREATMENT THEY REQUIRE

Within the furthermost north-west corner of the Void's Capital District, a structure had recently finished its renovations. A Crucible-operated trauma center, once aptly named 'Crucible MB' had fallen into the hands of a sole proprietor. The once two-floor, rugged medical facility had been completely renovated. Its walls, once steel and industrial were re-painted and layered with an aesthetic white sheen. Three entire floors had been appended upward, colossally increasing the building's heights and potentials. Its proprietor was a single woman - Dr. Kalgarova.

A large hospital faculty had been accrued, ranging from a wide collection of re-purposed GE-3 Protocol Droids (which seemed to have been purchased in bulk) to a collection of sentient nurses and Crucible combat medics serving as the primary building staff. Yet, curiously enough, some additions had been added to the building that raised suspicion. Probe droids skirted the building's perimeter, constantly surveying and watching the hospital grounds around-the-clock.

Further suspicions rang surrounding the Hospital's proprietor. Deliberately distant, the Doctor herself was rather difficult to actually reach, save for a visit through the Hospital's emergency room. Her right-hand, however, was another matter. A pony-tailed man consistently gravitated around hospital matters. Wherever the Doctor went, he would shortly follow, surveying the two's surroundings like a hawk while the Doctor conducted business.

The Accord didn't seem to mind. Within a matter of months, the Void had ascertained its first true medical center within its small foothold in the Outer Rim. Traders and visitors often flowed in and out of the hospital, some seeking treatment and others business. Regardless of one's intentions, the hospital doors remained open around the clock, awaiting any visitors.

Starships and Technology

space-depo-destiny.jpg

THE ACCORD HAS ACQUIRED UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY FROM A MULTITUDE OF SOURCES

Capital Ships

Listed below is a detailed account of the capital ships that have served under the Accord through the Crucible, Skyline Dragons, Specter Cell, and Initiative
The Wyvern
Piseas-Class Attack Corvette
CO: Korrell Voz

XO: Rico Redella (Former)
Motto: Victory or Death
Status: Active
Notable Engagements: Skirmish of Pantora’s Moons, Attack on Drexel Drydock, Raid on Alzoc Outpost, Attack on Bohmu Engineering
The Wyvern originally began life as the Hershell under the Mandalorian Crucible. Its hull was laid down at the Drexel Drydock under command of Clan Leader Kole Tsuani in preparation for a series of raids around the Sujimis Sector. When it was completed, command was given to one of Kole’s senior officers, Ryken Alerro, who’d fought her way through the pits on Rattatak and proved herself worthy. The ship was distinguished during the Skirmish of Pantora’s Moons, although a pair of torpedo impacts completely crippled the port side, causing the ship to undergo substantial repairs. While it remained in Drydock, Kole was murdered by his wife and lieutenant, leading to the Separatist Revolt. While the repairs on it were not yet completed, Loyalist forces under the command of Tygen Insmun manage to hijack both the Hershell and its older sister vessel, the Deltan, before the yard was brought under full Separatist control.

These ships, along with the Macharael, Exodeus, and Hawthorn, formed together along with the rest of the Loyalist fleet, and were the only Piseas-class corvettes used during the conflict. From their new disadvantaged position, the fleet mounted several raids along Crucible controlled areas. During a failed attempt at recapturing the Drexel Drydock, the Macharael was lost to heavy enemy fire, as well as several squadrons of fighters and the Frigate Emereus. Shortly after, in the raid on the Crucible Outpost in the Alzoc System, the Exodeus was destroyed in an act of friendly fire when a group of Separatist boarding pods impacted the Picket Ship Alcarael, taking control, and ramming into the Exodeus. Shortly after, the leaders of the Loyalist called for a complete retreat, removing any remaining ships and troops from the former Crucible territory.

The Hershell was part of the Crucible-in-exile fleet following the revolt, and remained in active service protecting the group until the outbreak of the Skyline Civil War. During the conflict, the Crucible supported the Skyline Separatist movement, and many Skyline pilots were used on the understaffed Crucible ships, including the Hershell. During the Attack on Bohmu Engineering, Captan Insmun was killed, and his Executive Officer, Skyline Commander Korrel Voz, took command of the ship. With his guidance, the ship managed to provide necessary support to the remaining operational vessels within the combat zone, regardless of its own extensive damage. Following the battle, command of the Hershell was given to the now Captain Voz, and he rechristened it the Wyvern in honor of the ancient draconic creature and the dragons of the new Skyline Dragons. The Wyvern was quickly patched at the Dragon’s last orbital yard at Askaj before returning to combat and fighting until the Dragon’s retreat at the end of the war.

Accord NPCs

pmuLpJl.jpg

Scrios Tsuani

nRaKsRl.jpg

MALE / HUMAN / 44 / TRACYN / CRUCIBLE / CL4
Brash, bold, assertive and unflinching, Scrios Tsuani is a Mandalorian warrior with scar tissue encompassing over 60% of his skin. A veteran and war hero of the Ghost Wars of the Frontier regions of the Western Reaches, Scrios has accumulated almost a lifetime of battlefield experience and wisdom, which he uses to help lead the Mandalorian Crucible as a militarized entity. Aggressive as he is abrasive, Scrios is a man of strong and dominant convictions; he is impossible to intimidate or give ground, either militarily or politically.

While many among the short-sighted might perceive a brutish or dogmatic warhound, Scrios' outlook and actions, pertaining to both himself and the Mandalorian Crucible which he protects, stem out of hard-learned experiences in life and in war; particularly when dealing with whatever forces, elements or influences threaten the safety, integrity or identity of those of his charge. Forceful, resolute and unrelenting, Scrios protects his own and fully embraces the Mandalorian values of strength, perseverance and tenacity, which more often than not results in clashing with Jasael Edolus of the Skyline Dragons.

Jasael Edolus

NJQ8lLv.jpg

FEMALE / SEPHI / 102 / EREBUS / SKYLINE DRAGONS / CL4
In spite of the deceptive illusion borne by her appearance, Jasael Edolus has spent more time fighting amongst the stars than most people in her generation have been alive. Born in the Blood Rift, a massive pirate region along the border of the Unknown Regions, Jasael became a fighter out of necessity for survival. Between her thirty-odd years as a fighter pilot and her sixty or so years as a tactical commander, Edolus has more first-hand combat experience than many of the galaxy's more reputable and recognized military leaders.

Cunning, fiercely intelligent and incessantly calculating, Edolus has a strongly-developed personality which nurtured her into developing into a steadfast, resolved, and unwavering leader. Dauntless and courageous, Edolus has striking charisma and an indomitable, if not also truculent and aggressive, will. Defiant when challenged and decisive when followed, Jasael Edolus is almost habitually in conflict with Scrios Tsuani.

Lauron Aeralia

sWjUuqf.png

FEMALE / ECHANI / 28 / ESHAN / THE INITIATIVE / CL4
A "bizarre paradox wrapped with an enigma" is how many would opt to describe Lauron Aeralia. A technological savant and mathematical genius, Lauron Aeralia is a constantly-calculating and meticulously-driven perfectionist. Seemingly aloof aside from her impossibly-high standards of satisfaction in the fields of technological designs and theoretical drafting, Lauron Aeralia is of stark contrast to many of her own equals within the Accord. Whereas many among the Accord's leadership boast strong, and often clashing, personalities, mingled with outspokenness and radiant self-confidence, Aeralia is something of a hidden presence among the Accord's upper echelon.

Quiet, seemingly timid if not totally passive, and at worst, simply apathetic to the political challenges of the Accord’s innerworkings, Aeralia is often a neutral presence. She seldom voices any opinion or concern, typically abiding with the majority opinion or observing divisions when matters are split between sides. Due to this, many often foster the perception that Aeralia simply performs her duties in the Accord as a courtesy function, and ultimately cares little for the other segments aside from the Initiative subdivision. Surprisingly possessive of her own secrets and knowledge, few even know enough about Laruon to begin to assume what to think of her... and many more believe that too is intentional, and is but a machination of Aeralia's own, and many, designs.

Qza-Tar

2RSqoSs.jpg

MALE / RATTATAKI / 32 / ZOGE VER / SPECTER CELL / CL4

A cynical man with an undeniably roguish disposition, Qza-Tar is the epitome of a perfect assassin. Taken from his home as a child during the Trilion Blitz of the Systems War, Qza-Tar was born under the domination of a ruthless warlord, who trained a number of children seized during the conflicts of the Guter Wade system as his personal political assassin force. As a result of his upbringing, Qza-Tar bears seemingly contradictory facets to his persona; while he is capable of unparalleled brutality and callous slaughter, he directs his dark impulses toward the unchecked and unchallenged tyrannical figures running rampant across the galaxy.

Consequently, Qza-Tar is often remarked for his audacity, his devout desire for repentance, and his almost unstable hatred for warlords and despots. He is especially sensitive to events affecting the young and defenseless, which has in the past compelled him into reckless, and lethal, action. In spite of his adamant convictions, Qza-Tar is neither confrontational nor emphatically forthright. Instead, he is an observer, carefully watching those around him and making mental notes. He seldom speaks in any setting unless he regards it as necessary, while at the same time, he ritualistically takes measures to avoid either being seen or attracting attention to himself, no matter whether he shares company with an ally or an enemy.

Eris Xa'vett

aquaNdQ.jpg

FEMALE / FALLEEN / 63 / THERENOR PRIME / SKYLINE DRAGONS / CL3
Brimming with pride, self-confidence and sophistication, one could very easily assume Eris Xa'vett was of noble birth. Elegant and dignified, both in her manners and in her speech, few would ever assume that beneath her highblood facade was a remorseless tactical fleet officer. Leading the Hydian Cabal with subterfuge over brute force and chicanery over candidacy, Eris Xa'vett once helped to terrorize the Hydian Way without ever revealing her hands, often using proxies, covert actions and sabotage to achieve her objectives, as opposed to the more obvious and straightforward methods of piracy.

A superb organizer and multitasker, Eris Xa'vett has a brilliant strategic mind for battle, specializing in utilizing stellar phenomena, conditions and elements to her advantage. Her unorthodox manner of thinking translates to many facets of her personality, often leading many to question her endgame and ultimate objectives, particularly since most suspect even her most basic suggests as having hidden agendas. Distrusted, often held suspect and kept at arm’s length by most of her peers, Xa'vett is nonetheless considered a valuable asset to the Skyline Dragons due to her nonlinear insight, her capacity to consider multiple scenarios for every actions and inaction, and her sheer mental fortitude in organizing and directing naval matters.

Orsen Baleth

vMbRZuS.jpg

MALE / HUMANOID / 35 / ARKANIA / INITIATIVE / CL3
Obsessive, neurotic, and pathologically critical of others, Orsen Baleth is aberrant and eccentric, usually lending himself as a divisive element wherever he goes. He is unrepentantly insulting, demeaning and boasts an unhealthy superiority complex, whether among his peers of other factions of the Accord. However, in other instances, Baleth can appear insightful, sympathetic and even empathetic. His dual-natured, and unpredictable, personality is nonetheless tolerated due to a simple fact: Orsen Baleth is a remarkable cyberneticist. An expert at the melding of flesh and machinery, Baleth has such an obsession with "integrative" technology that he experiments on himself, which some theorize is a source for his irregular personality fluctuations.

Having grafted a cerebral interfacing module around his head, sacrificing his biological vocal cords, and much of the biological components of his eyes and ears for technologically substituted vocalization, optical receptors and auditory sensors. Although often seen as borderline fanatical, ebbing back to the Initiative's darker Holy Design Crusade days, Orsen Baleth's non-violent and semi-isolationist manner grants his a degree of asylum from otherwise disturbed onlookers. While seemingly passive, Baleth's vision and dream of being perfectly integrated with technology is limited by his own authority, and holds firm ambitions of surpassing Lauron Aeralia, the only person whom he acknowledges has an intellect that rivals, and potentially exceeds, his own.

The Fat Rodian”

RHFbfle.jpg

MALE(?) / [REDACTED] A.K.A. “THE FAT RODIAN” / [REDACTED] / [REDACTED] / SPECTER CELL / [REDACTED]
Note: This is not a picture of [REDACTED]. It is an artist’s rendition based on the testimony of [REDACTED]

Little is known about this illusive agent of the Specter Cell. It’s possible he isn’t a Rodian at all. Or fat. There might even be multiple Fat Rodians. What is known is that [REDACTED] is [REDACTED] from [REDACTED] where he [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] before joining the Specter Cell. His current operating guidelines include [REDACTED], [REDACTED], and [REDACTED].

Notes on Play and Usage: The Fat Rodian isn’t to be played. Only mentioned offhandedly in threads.

Besides these, the Accord also controls every single soldier and/or staff member of every military force, organization, and company belonging to the faction.

Enemies of the Accord

oJAbXV0.jpg

THE NEFARIOUS FORCES OF THE OUTER RIM

The Blue Skull Buccaneers

fk6WNZF.jpg

PIRATES AND PILLAGERS PREYING ON THE WEAK AND HELPLESS

The Blue Skull Buccaneers are an infamous band of pirates and raiders that repeatedly pillage the Outer Rim's frontier regions, specifically the regions of Wild Space. Iconically recognized for their hologram helmets, which project humanoid skulls in a blue haze, the Blue Skulls were often known to exhibit especially vicious tendencies.

Blue Skull raiding parties often incorporated two facets. The most common were hit-and-run tactics, usually utilized against slower targets, such as frigates or freighters. If the potential cargo is deemed precious enough, the Blue Skulls also utilize boarding pods that drill through a ship's hull, allowing them to infiltrate and seize control of the ship.

Well armed and capable, with military-grade weaponry and armor, the Blue Skulls are the dread of any merchants, privateers, smugglers or traders that drift too deep into the galactic frontier.

Having recently combined forces with both the Frontier Buccaneers and Blue Scars, their attacks have become bolder and more frequent.

The Shadow Syndicate

pgVTEIL.jpg

A VAST, ORGANIZED CRIMINAL NETWORK

The Shadow Syndicate are among the most infamous criminal families of Hutt Space, operating primarily on Nar Shaddaa, Nal Hutta and Nar Kreeta. Ruthless and conniving, the Shadow Syndicate began as a humanocentric movement against the more Hutt-dominated cartels common to Hutt Space.

Organized from several groups, including the official business of the successful Club Vertica Casino, located on Nar Shaddaa, the slaving organization, known as the Nar Kreeta Labor Alliance, and the contract killers of the Annihilator Network, the Shadow Syndicate represents everything wrong with the galaxy.

Stretching their influence into as many outlets to expand their power and influence, albeit not the extent to draw the ire of the more powerful Hutt Cartels, the Shadow Syndicate is a growing danger to the more peaceful and orderly galaxy.

Unlike brutish pirates or raiders, the Shadow Syndicate's greatest weapon is their aptitude in corrupting others, particularly legal or political officials, to in turn grant them degrees of leverage. Intimidation, fear-mongering, bribery, blackmail and propaganda are the Shadow Syndicate's favored methods, although they are far from above assassinations, abductions or torture.

Although chiefly found as one of the many players of Hutt Space, elements representing the Shadow Syndicate can sometimes be found in various points of the Outer Rim, such as the Labor Alliance and running their routine "recruitment drives" of slave hauling and trading.

Gavros Krauch

la-et-hc-jessica-jones-david-tennant-20150917

MALE / HUMAN / 34 / ORD ANTALAHA / SHADOW SYNDICATE / BOSS
Previously the Shadow Syndicate’s Boss in charge of spreading their influence and corruption in Christophsis, Gavros Krauch was captured by the Accord after an attempt was made on a Christophsian guild leader’s life. Having gleaned all the information from him that they can, he has since been imprisoned in The Reef.

The Skyline Cartel

wallpaper_dreadnought_02_1920x1080.jpg

RAIDERS FROM THE ACCORD’S PAST COME TO EXACT THEIR REVENGE

Laying low ever since their last major defeat, the Skyline Cartel has risen from the ashes, ready to retake their claim as the Rim’s most powerful naval fleet. Led by the ruthless Haakon Kvathral, they will stop at nothing until the Accord is destroyed and they see themselves ascended to power once again.

Haakon Kvathral

MALE / HUMAN / 450+ / SPACE / SKYLINE CARTEL / HIGH COMMANDER
Haakon Kvathral is a merciless and brutal naval admiral, surpassing nearly all in space warfare with his centuries of experience in naval stratagems. His anger towards the Accord and all those that associate with them is furious and unquenchable. Not blinded by simple passing desires for gold or worldly pleasures, his only wish is to see his enemies crumble before him.

[fancybox4=https://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/swtor.gamepedia.com/8/87/Training-Droid.png?version=87395d73c2a6c8b59777726ca822bdf6] Old, refurbished Czerka Probe droids wandered the four corners of the hospital grounds. Given their ragged rugged and modified aesthetic, the intuitive observer could note the rapid beeps of each probe's communication. A light red light was attached to a small antenna on the head of each droid - relaying information, but to who?[/fancybox4]

Building Exterior

Directly in the forefront of the Hospital courtyard was a vibrant, scarlet sign reading "Loureaux Medical Center." Those familiar with the Kolto industry would instantly recognize the name for its ties within the circles of Manaan. The courtyard itself was laid in concrete, expanding nearly half a block. Along the center of the hospital courtyard grew a small garden, meticulously maintained by a light-green-painted, female-programmed Czerka GE-3 droid dubbed "Betty", who often remained as a stationary, cheerful guard atop the staircase leading to the hospital's courtyard. Several modern benches and chairs were spread throughout the garden, granting it a peaceful veneer amidst the chaos of the Capital district.

The building itself was also modernized - with 4 floors vibrantly revealing the end of the hospital's interior corridors. Curiously enough, to the observant eye, light seemed to refract slightly differently when impacting the glass. Each four glass windows acted as a 1/4 of a moving image, often displaying the approximated wait in the Emergency Room.

Upon approaching the building, its ground floor was noticeably lacking in windows. The walls here seemed thicker than anywhere else along the hospital - indicative of a meticulously guarded emergency room and lobby.

Emergency Room & Lobby

Upon initial entry to the building's main lobby through the ground floor, one'd find themselves in a rather expansive, circular chamber. The ER walls were a polished, clean white, accompanied by an industrial gray floor tiling. Simplistic and plain in nature, dimmed cylindrical lights were embedded through the ER ceiling - granting it a rather darker level of light than the rest of the hospital, in hopes of accommodating to lifeforms with photophobia. Along the center lies several admittedly-cheap-looking metal seats, where aliens and humans from all over the Asteroid would gather and wait. Immediately adjacent to the glass entryway was a modern bench, attended to by a curiously observant medical droid with large red photoreceptors.

[fancybox4=https://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/swtor.gamepedia.com/5/50/Imperial_Medical_Droid_Imperial_Fleet.png?version=a98a98298f48dbf9ed48688bebf788c0] DT-44 was a bit of an anomaly within the outer rim. Though the Droid was clearly built with rapid analytics in mind given its photoreceptors, it led to the question of what it was analyzing?

Upon closer examination, one would notice a curious, soldered plate to the droid's right arm that struck as an anomaly. It was out of place and obstructive, signifying that someone had gone to lengths in order to make the modification for the droid. Given the droid's cold, observant demeanor and hidden compartment along its right arm, it was a given that the droid certainly wasn't monitoring for patient health, and it certainly wasn't there to act as a clerk.[/fancybox4]

DT-44, he was named. Upon check-in with the droid, an estimated wait time would be delivered, as well as a number. When the droid called, one would be attended.

The Emergency Room is more often where Dr. Kalgarova could be found. Here she was exceptionally thankful of the Crucible's vetted combat medics, who were often the first to physically assess a patient and respond to most injured who'd walk through the ER doors. For the more delicate matters, they'd call higher. Within the emergency room, the largest walled-off space in the circular ground floor, were 12 total adjacent, small bays for immediate assessment and treatment. Each bay encompassed of a small operating table, an overhead camera, as well as a metal cabinet fully stocked with supplies to aid the combat medics and nurses in their aid.

One room, however, remained distinct. It was far more spacious than the other bays and encompassed a local rarity - a fully operational kolto tank, supplied freshly from Manaan. Besides the tank was an elaborate operating table, reserved for Dr. Kalgarova's care. The Crucible's medics often wore gray scrubs and black slacks, having to have adhered to the hospital owner's imposed Dress Code; mirroring her own light-grey labcoat.

[fancybox4=http://i.imgur.com/Ej7F8NV.png] Doctor Kalgarova was most often seen sporting a light-gray labcoat, having grown a bit weary of the traditional white. More often than not, a collared shirt adorned her chest while accompanying a golden, pearled necklace, purchased several years ago during a now-bitter Alderaanian honeymoon. Her hair was combed to the side, with a close buzz-cut along the opposite side of her head. A pair of prescription-less, black-rimmed spectacles rested atop the bridge of nose, primitive in nature - though the pinnacle of current Alderaanian Fashion.

A rather deep scar hugged her upper left cheek, having been sliced during a Twi'Lek protest upon her arrival on the Void. Her eyes were an abyssal black, varied in expression in accordance with whom she addressed. More often than not, however, they carried a cold gaze - a must for any vetted surgeon that dealt with death on the daily.

[/fancybox4]

Upon the far eastern side of the circular chamber awaited a cubic steel box - an elevator leading to the higher floors.

Patient Quarters & Bays

The Patient bays encompassed the 2nd to 4th floors of hospital building, granting open care and treatment to those who required continual aid or time to recover after a procedure or injury. The floors were far more industrial than the ER's - the hallways were covered with steel grates to liquid ventilation should a spill occur. The patient bays were, admittedly, rather small - encompassing of little more than a bed that monitored their vitals and a small overhead terminal for recreation and communication. Each bay's door was a tinted light blue, the glass doors being automated to open upon approach.

[fancybox4=http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/7/7c/Drdprobe.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20051211072337]

Along each of the droid's center chassis was an embedded blaster, stored beneath two thick durasteel plates for additional protection. Someone had taken great care in the modification of these droids, extending the security measures along each floor of the patient bays. [/fancybox4]

A curiosity wandered the halls, however. A K-X12 Probe Droid floated in clear patrol of each floor's hallways, taking stock of its surroundings with its vibrant red photoreceptor.

Along the corridors, gray-scrub-toting medics and nurses wandered the halls, routinely visiting each patient. In each bay floor, an administrative desk could be found, headed by a GE-3 Protocol Droid with a male voicebox. The administration desks were cheap and industrial, though they were embedded with built-in holographic displays for the Clerk droid and personnel's use.

Along each floor were 6 Kolto Tanks - all lined across the far side of Clerk's Desk and adjacent to the elevator, leading to a total of 19 kolto tanks within the hospital. Admittedly enough, accessibility to one of the tanks was rather limited, having a firm mandate on the necessity of upfront payment and fees for their use, there-in limiting them from most of those who could not afford them and opted for cheaper, slower recovery methods instead.

Clearly, there was a limit to the Hospital Proprietor's sense of altruism.

BioChem Lab, Logistics & Cybernetics

The final floor atop the hospital building was keenly guarded - this time by Armed Crucible personnel. Upon exiting the elevator, one would be immediately questioned, save for two people. With security's blessings, the BioChem lab and Cybernetics wing could be reached. Given the Galaxy's growing need for cybernetics and prosthetic care, Dr. Kalgarova sought a small team of Engineers from within the Crucible's ranks, acquiring a small tech wing for her hospital. Most prosthetic issues, save for the nerve endings, were a technical problem and not a biological one. Excluding particularly complicated jobs, this small corner of the building was mostly unused. The Cybernetics wing was composed of 3 Engineers with a collection of rudimentary metals and electrical components to assist in the repair and maintenance of basic prosthetics. Each Engineer was given a workbench, appended with an overhead compartment for materials and resources.

The other 3/4s of the top floor, however, was Artemis' domain. The BioChemistry lab was focused on the development of off-shelf pharmaceuticals and adrenals. Here, everything from the hospitals basic antibiotics to a Soldier's combat stimulant was developed. The Doctor had abandoned her pursuits in Kolto research, having proven to exceed the hospital's current budget. The BioChem lab was a tight, brightly-illuminated corridor, with a small operating table at the end that had yet to see use. Along the walls of the entire corridor were chemicals and herbs from distant corners of the Galaxy, having been ordered along the Doctor's specific charter.

The BioChem lab was staffed by two droids - the only full-blown Medical Droids in the entire building.

[fancybox4=http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/0/0f/MedicalDroid-TOR.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100521163648]Morphine, kolto, antibiotics, painkillers - most of it passed 2-8T and 2-9T. 2-8T, the light-blue droid, was tasked with consistently managing and accounting for all the hospital's wares in and out, monitoring the hospital's supply expenditures and requisitions. Within the droid's mind lied access to the bank's continuously shifting funds, both in and out. 2-9T served as the primary Chemist, managing the production of goods as demanded by 2-9T for on-the-spot production, rather than continuous supply shipping.[/fancybox4]

One a light-blue and the other a dark gray, both droids served as Artemis' closest assistants, responding rapidly to any supply inquiries from the floors below. Effectively, the droid duo served as the logistical heart of the hospital, and were there-in the most guarded assets in the building excluding Dr. Kalgarova herself.

Kalgarova's Quarters

Upon entry to the hospital's primary elevator, one would notice a small curiosity - a light red key card reader. Upon activation, the Elevator would then descend towards an underground floor, Dr. Kalgarova's residential quarters. It was clear that great care had gone in making the small apartment as hospitable as possible. Wooden boards were elegantly laid across the ceiling and walls, granting the venue a traditional, yet modern, aesthetic. A large terminal awaited on the far end of the chamber. Three monitors laid atop a glass table, all encompassing a different purpose. The far left carried a continual stream of data shipped directly from 2-8T, overseeing the hospital's economy and, there-in, her economy. She'd invested nearly every credit she'd left Manaan with on this hospital, certain of its positive ROI after some time, given the hospital's exclusivity as the only health care center within the Asteroid.

The only one that wouldn't steal your liver, anyway.

The center terminal oversaw her own personal affairs and was connected directly to her personal comlink. The right furthermost was a personal nuance of hers - which relayed the vitals of every single patient directly to her display. Any sudden drop in heart rate or similar abnormality would lead to her immediate notification, and further investigation.

An oft-deactivated GE-3 protocol droid stood patiently within the apartment's kitchen, a short distance away from a mahogany wine cabinet. Though certainly smaller than she'd grown used to, the apartment carried a humbling simplicity for the affluent businesswoman. A refreshing change of pace, given her prior background of manors.

Oddly enough, the apartment was only for one. Her pony-tailed bodyguard resided elsewhere, though likely still within close proximity.

Here, she'd rest. Branding the hospital with the Loureaux name was a risky move, given the bullseye on the back of her head among Desajilic circles, yet she was certain she'd undergone every necessary security measure she could to guarantee herself a comfortable night's sleep.
