"On the fringe a man with conviction will find blood and bullets are the rule of law."

Tecov Skirata (born in 7023 BBY on Ragith III) had the name Nammom as a surname before becoming a mandalorian. A former Special Operations officer he fought counter insurgency before and during the Great Schism. He earned only a mild reputation for his clandestine operations before being betrayed and put into a coma. Only now has he recently returned to a galaxy that is strange to him where he must find his place in it.

Biography

The parts of Ragith III that Tecov was born in was destitute. He lived there with an abusive father and a struggling mother. His father provided money for the family but only enough for some people to turn a blind eye to the abuse he wrought upon his wife. The tyranical anger his father brought home every day, and double on the weekends, left Tecov with many bruises but not as many as his mother. However the young boy made a diligent effort to study in school so he could be successful and get out of the slums. If his studies failed his father would beat him, or worse his mother would receive the brunt of the man's wrath.

Around the age of twelve Tecov came home to the house damaged. Chairs over turned, some cupboards smashed and various possessions in disarray. Tecov's mother was nowhere to be seen. The young boy knew in his heart that his father had killed his mother. She never came back but his father did. He was quiet and calm for the next few weeks compared to before. But eventually the impatience and anger returned to the man. There was not enough evidence to support claims of foul play and so the investigation had been dropped. No body or murder weapon. Instead it was labeled as a misssing persons case despite others knowing better. This would spark Tecov's mistrust of the law.

After his thirteenth birthday he started becoming more defiant of his father. The beatings became more fierce even breaking bones on some occasions. But what eventually pushed Tecov over the edge was when his turned his anger toward Tecov's sister. But this sparked Tecov's anger who grabbed a knife and stabbed his father. While the teenager had killed his father, the tyrant had undoubtedly killed his mother.

When questioned about what had happened he answered honestly. However what he did not know at the time was the ever expanding Republic reach was also making their forces thin. The special operations units were looking for promising candidates and a recruiter had flagged young Tecov. The teenager was then interviewed by the recruiter further. He would promise Tecov that his sister would be taken care of as long as when he became of age he would come work for the unit the recruiter represented. Tecov agreed.

Years would go by before Tecov was of age. In that time he was separated from his sister, being placed in separate foster care. He moved from location to location, usually stirring up trouble wherever he went. At the age of seventeen (7006 BBY) the Republic officer came back to bring Tecov in and have him make good on his word. That was exactly what the teenager did.

Cowls

"If we all carried out our existence with the view that what is belief is fact then we won't progress."

For the next eight years he worked in the black operations for the Republic. The name of the unit he was in did not have an official term but other people whispered and called them Cowls. He did the kind of work that does not get publicized after all. If it did it would be a scandal. But he was good at his job and since the whole point was to be covert he remained unknown by any who were not in a need-to-know position. Sabotage, wet work, assassination, espionage, torture, and more were what Tecov learned while working for the Republic. At least that was who he thought he was working for. During this time the Jedi Exiles seperated from the Jedi Order. The Cowls were primarily focused on counter insurgency and other covert operations. It would not be until 22 years old (7001 BBY) that the Cowls would engage the Exiles as targets.

Making his way up to Captain, Tecov was recognized in his unit as one of the best. He survived multiple engagements with the policing the Hutt Cartel and eliminating other threats to the Republic. He was leading missions and in charge of seeing his team survive. But the other members of his unit were not the typical soldiers. They were all taught to be hyper aggressive, empathy dampening training, make them cold hearted killing machines. Some of the other members of his unit were far more extreme in their tendencies.

At the age of twenty five (6998 BBY) while on a mission Tecov was in charge of recapturing assets for the republic. Upon infiltration he later learned that it was drugs and weapons they were taking back. He resisted the urge to ask questions but knew then that his unit was dirty. There was more, a verpine scientist that had been working for the republic on honing stasis technology. But the one guarding him was none other than Tecov's sister. They had nearly killed each other. But this was the hair that broken Tecov's loyalty. He turned on his fellow Cowls, knowing full well they would not have someone they thought was an enemy walk away from an engagement. Not willing to execute his sister he took both her and the scientist to escape the Republic.

The following weeks he found himself hunted by his ex-comrades. But the man knew their tricks and brought his sister to a backwater planet. Off worlders were loathed and the locals were all warriors. Any type of offense lead on the planet would get the force in deadly hot waters. Vatol, was the name of the planet and that was where Tecov and his sister remained for another three years. The people in charge of the Cowls knew it would be an outrage for a member of their organization to go rogue and kill numerous members so it was kept under wraps from even other high government officials. No bounty was placed, no arrest warrant, it was kept all in house.

Revenants

"The dead and I, flying side by side, the dead and I across the sky. Deep in the abyss we take on the damned."

In the time on Vatol the two siblings avoided the republic and the Cowls. At first the locals did not trust them. Tecov knew there was a cabal of warriors on the planet who had been illusive of the Cowls for a long time. They had been labeled Revanants for the fact that they seemed to evade death. That was why he had come to Vatol, to also use the cell to take on his old unit if need be. They found the cabal, or rather the cabal found them. At first they were treated as prisoners but the leader of the Cabal saw the potential in the two siblings.

The following two years were the group training and working on missions to survive in the outer rim. They hit republic targets, the Hutts and more. But the Cowls had not given up on taking out Tecov. The Cowls had a blacksite on Malastare. The Revenants and the Cowls conducted an entire shadow war with one another and the greater galaxy were non-the wise for it. This blacksite held intelligence and assets belonging to the Cowls.

Moving with the Revenants they moved on the operation. However there was an ambush set and the Revenants took heavy losses. It may have been fate or pure luck or total lack there of. Depending on the perspective the Revenants had the best or worst timing. This operation on Malastare all took place at the sime time as the First Battle of Malastare between the Republic, Jedi and Exile forces (6996 BBY) who laid down a bombardment of the area, blanketing the area with explosives. This trapped Tecov underground and mortally wounded. His younger sister was able to pull him out in an evacuation thjough Tecov had slipped into a coma. He was unaware of his sister's surival and would later assume her to be dead. The Cowls would believe Tecov and his cabal to be wiped out as well.

Reawakened

"I don't recognize any of this. I don't recognize"

Being in a coma Tecov would be unaware of the events that unfolded in the coming years. Tecov's sister would take him to a low key planet and set him up in a personal medical facility where the Cowls could not find him and he would continue to recieve treatment in his comatose state. His body would remain hidden as the rest of the galaxy moved on with the rest of the century of bloodshed and destruction. The Cowls, would think Tecov to have been dead as well as the rest of the Revenants for the better part of a century. The black operations unit would eventually be dismantled with the lack of funding and results towards the end of the Hundred Years of Darkness. The members of the group would spread out into their own paths and have died long ago. They would grow old, and their stories seemed like tall tales. The records of Tecov Nammon would be almost completely expunged. This was partially from their intentional removal of the traitor and also due to the lose of war assets and facilities. Data loss from war effort is not uncommon after all. The reason for his lack of aging was both thanks to the medical facility his sister had brought him to as well as his own physiology as a Sephi and Ragithian hybrid.

But with the ending of the Hundred years of Darkness in 6903 BBY there would come time for the cultural vultures to make their way around the old battle fields. All sides had suffered and much of the gained ground was abandoned. Scavengers, pirates, and all sorts of nifarious individuals would eventually come across the edges of any location in the outer rim. The one holding Tecov's comatose body was no different. They scrounged for parts, valuables, lost technology. They destroyed the droid skeleton crew. What they had not expected to find was an over a century man. The droid trieed to revive Tecov from his coma but were initially unsuccessful. It was not until they had taken his body, intending on using it for their own ends and selling it on the black market did he rise from his previous state.

The scavengers thought about enslaving Tecov and bringing him to a Hutt to fight in the gladiatorial pits but he turned the tables on them. Taking their ship he was confused by the times. A galaxy not at war was alien to him. Everyone, everything he had known had changed in what had seemed like a moment. He was unsure what the new galaxy had in store for him and what he would do now. He spent the next few months returning to his previous fitness and familiarizing himself moderately with the new times though he is still far from being fully adjusted. The whereabouts of his sister were wiped from the medical facility he had been placed at and he is currently unaware if she is still alive.

Personality and traits

Tecov is one among billions. He is not exceptionally handsome or bearing a seductive smile. His nose has been broken several times and has a worn and rough exterior. His height is likely what most people first notice about him while the rest of his figure is scarred muscle. But such things are easily covered up with clothing making him seem like nothing more than an above average height individual as is normal for a Ragithian Human.

The man is a stoic individual and is not phased by much. Cold and calculating both from his experiences and upbringing as well as the training from the Republic who bred things like empathy out of him. But he has regained a modicum of comradery and the capability of bonding with others. He has kinship with clan Skirata but considers everyone else opposition.

Having been released into a new time in the galaxy he is unsure where everything stands. As such he is more silent and observant than ever. Having learned of the time lapse he is coming to terms with the loss of everyone he knows. A different type of conflict existing in the galaxy makes him question all parties involved.

Tecov unknowingly suffers from mild psychosis and sporadic hallucinations when alone. A side affect of the stasis pod or possible trauma. Most frequently he will see people he has killed, his mother or his sister. They are often just conversations that lead down paths of self realization.

In terms of free time he drinks like a Quarren. Recreational drugs are not strange to him although he usually does them to forget his own self loathing. Survivor's guilt and a questionable will to live have him projecting an unhealthy care-free attitude that ends up with him just dismissing and shrugging off serious situations. His intelect provides him with witty remarks from time to time when he does speak but usually just points out the faults in other people's opinions.

Having worked on his own first, then lossing two different teams, one from betrayal, the other from tragedy, he has the urge to keep others from getting close. The prospect of losing anyone close to him is a fear of his since childhood and now he is utterly alone. That's why he even keeps other mandalorians at arms length and will alienate others to keep them from bonding with him.

Powers and abilities

As a teenager Tecov killed his own father. The harshness of his reality shaped him into becoming tough or lose. Ruthless in all facets of life he plays to win or does not play at all. Thanks to his training he is capable of gathering groups of people together into small effective units. Tracking targets down or getting others to do it for him is one of the many methods he is knowledgeable on execution.

Hand to hand combat is a necessary method of self defense and Tecov is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Preferring the quick and easiness of dispatching people with ranged weapons he is an expert marksman. A wide array of melee weapons were used for training and in the field thus allowing Tecov to become familiar with various weapons the galaxy utilizes.

In Tecov's world one needs to be strong on their own or else you get yourself killed. Due to this outlook he has become self sufficient in all areas of his life style. Navigation, mechanical knowledge, explosive creation and use, even cooking. All of these and more he has learned on his own though they were originaly meant for the betterment of the now dead Revenants.

updated a little. Originally I intended for him to be in stasis for only a century but then after some thought I came to the decision that one hundred years in star wars time is not all that long for things to change too much. So I went further back and did a whole thousand years.

If he was in stasis 1k years before current time, wouldn't his birth date be somewhere in the 7kBBY area?

Also, checking with admins about the sophistication in tech required to keep someone in stasis that long and if it's viable at this/that time.

current timeline started at 6903 BBY according to "The Story So Far" so add another 1000 years to that and that is 7903 BBY so you're right. His birthday, for the age I want him to be woulded then be 7933 BBY I think.

Yeah that's why I had that stasis be a "one of a kind" and also be destroyed in his biography.

After conferring with admins I'm gonna have to ask you to rework the 1000 year stasis portion of his bio. After reading it it doesn't seem super duper integral to the character as a whole so I don't think you'll have much of a problem taking it out. That kind of pseudo time travel/the tech it would take to actually accomplish it is just something we don't want to allow right now.

I want the whole “man out of his own time” and since 100 years is nothing in the SW universe I went to the extreme of a thousand years. Could I still do something like 500 years or something along those lines? I was planning on adding/developing psychosis as a side affect of the stasis.

1,000 years isn't all that much time in Star Wars either. Maybe a suggestion to give you a"fish out of water" feeling without "time travel lite" is have him be on an undiscovered world (would probably need a writeup) that is just being found and all the sudden he is thrown into a Galaxy of space faring people.

Going to go with changing his species so he shares the genes of one that is long lived. He will have suffered injuries in a battle on Malastare (during the battle of malastare 6996 BBY) and essentially be put into a coma. I have and will continue to highlight dates with the following format ( 0000 BBY ) so they can easily be picked out.

With this in mind he won't have any "Stasis" in his history and will be revived by someone who finds him and treated for his injuries. That way he can be "out of place" in the new galaxy having been a part of the Great Schism while also not touching the delicate subject of stasis. However I'll also add to his Personality section to indicate the ramifications of his coma. Various details that mention the stasis and other changed facets of his history will also be done and I'll post here, tagging you Relent when it is done.
