In the vast plains of Correllia, Voka sighted a massive freighter ship out from distance while riding his speeder bike. He glanced down his datapad to make sure that gigantic warship was that of the Bounty Hunters Guild mobile HQ, “Jericho”, and not some Galactic Republic campsite that housed soldiers anxiously waiting for the end of the ceasefire. The numerous turrets on the ship would intimidate many passing transports in space. Surprised that his datapad confirmed that it was the “Jericho”, Voka fully thrusted his speeder bike directly towards the ship.
‘Wonder if they’ll start a private military company,’ Voka snickered at the thought.
Voka first heard of the Bounty Hunters Guild from a few crewmembers of the merchant freighter he hitched a ride from. Since fighting and apprehending criminals were his strong points, he figured that Bounty Hunting would be the perfect role to part take. He grew tired of the restrictions of standard law enforcement and figured that he could bring justice through his own flexibility. Still at the point of his youth, Voka also had an urge for venturing across the galaxy and what better way than to venture out while making creds capturing fugitives. Enticed by the job, Voka signed up for the Guild though his datapad.
As he approached the warship, he received a local comm. “We’ve been expecting you. Please direct your bike towards the hangar and we’ll take care of the rest,” a guard’s voice said through Voka’s earphone.
A tractor beam eventually took hold of the speeder bike and gave Voka some time to witness the lush scenery of Correllia. He had never seen so many hills in his life, the unfamiliar bumpy green terrain became an image engraved to his head. He looked back and thought of how diverse the culture was back in the city. Sure there were Rodians but even they seemed foreign compared to Rodians in his home planet. He appreciated the seeing different cultures but he felt discomfort for being a stranger to it all.
Inside the hanger, Voka safetly jumped off his bike and took of his goggles. He wiped the dust off his brow as he opened the storage compartment underneath the seat. Inside, Voka grabbed a long metal suitcase that could fit a telescope or pipe instrument. He walked towards a near bench to sit and regain composure after a long ride. A couple of crewmembers and security were there but Voka only received a few greetful nods from them.
‘A carefree yet cold crowd’ thought Voka.
Voka left his poncho hood over his head to hide notice from the crowd and took out his datapad to play some Pazaak and kill some time. It was a start of a new career for Voka’s new life as he waited on the bench for his trainer to show.
