Shaukat was born on the Herglic homeworld of Giju as per the norm for his species. for all intents and purposes his life was fairly typical other than his parent's violent tendencies. both parents moved around in a nomadic life style from world to world that had significant ocean space. but at a young age both parents separated forcing him and his six brothers to spend time with both parents on separate planets from time to time which was stressful to say the least.
it was rumored that his mother's side of the family had been cursed by some off world. his mother acted foolishly when he was with her and sold not only Shaukat but also his six brothers into slavery. she had tricked them into coming with her and kept it a secret from their father. this was not the typical type of servitude he had been forced into nor were his brothers. they were purchased by a group of scientists that wanted specimens to toy with. thus he and his siblings were subject to numerous experiments, tortures and surgical changes at a young age. many of which involved trying to combine the mass of a herglic with the benefits with of the slim and agile Karkarodon species. the procedures changed them in appearance to things unlike their former appearance. originally they had appeared more predatory for a species of their kind but now they looked more like ocean predators meant for killing.
the Herglics were eventually able to break from their confinement. their father having found them attacked the laboratory and killed many of the scientists. some of the security were able to mortally wound their father. the Carcharo brothers didn't waste the sacrifice their father had made and escaped the imprisonment without risking being killed by the attackers as well or taken for their own projects and be sold again. they had only been confined for a year but the scientists had not completed their work making them all look hideous as unfinished products. they were all angry, not only at those that had taken their freedom but their own horrendous mother. returning to her home they found she had relocated to a more lavish lifestyle on a paradise world. the Carcharo brothers focused their efforts on tracking down and avenging their fathers as well as their own plight.
Shaukat led them despite not being the oldest, nor strongest. he had been the one that had brought them together and had been the primary one to get them all out of the facility they had been kept in. their father had seen that Shaukat had the greatest potential and had told him to take care of his brothers. following his lead they seven siblings arrived on Dorumaa. when their mother were alone the siblings caught her unawares forcing her to confess to her wrongs. she could barely recognize them due to the changes they had recieved from the augmentations and surgeries.
later the local authorities would state it was a wild animal attack that had killed a Herglic. the funds that Shaukat's mother had received from the scientific group were plentiful enough for his brothers to split amongst one another as well as what their father left them. they returned to their father's home until they were old enough and experienced enough to go out into the galaxy independently
A few years passed and as he gained enough money Shaukat found one of the best surgeons and medical teams to make sure he had some semblance of a natural appearance. it turned out better than he could have hopped and by some miracle he looks as naturally formed as if he had been born in such a way. his appearance was totally different than what it would have been if he had not been subjected to the experiments but he regained some confidences and started earning a reputation as a humanoid shark of sorts. as time went on he pursued jobs from anything to being a mercenary, a bounty hunter, bouncer or oceanic hunting guide. in this he shared with his brothers and helped them fit in a little bit better with the greater galaxy.

at a young age he learned how to deal with problems. one developed characteristic is his preference for introversion and self isolation. he is a picky individual when it comes to company and will get annoyed or bored with most people. Shaukat abhors slavery due to his history with imprisonment and all things that keep other's freedom. though he originally broke the law to get back at his mother along with his family he has since developed a reasoning for honor. this was developed when he was a bounty hunter for a while but he grew tired of all the boring work that came with dealing with laws. Though not the sharpest tool in the shed Shaukat is not a fool. for the most part of his life now he has known his place in the galaxy and has a fortified outlook as well as accumulated knowledge in his lifestyle that suits him. while he is not as smart as some citizens of the galaxy he is knowledgable when it comes to subjects that have to do with his sort of lifestyle and existence. so he might not know the different sports teams of limmie he does know extensive knowledge about street smarts and sweeping buildings as one example.
to the few that see a candid moment he is just an everyday citizen of the galaxy. he enjoys eating at public restaurants and seeing sights. not much one for the excessive metropolization of planets he dislikes worlds like Coruscant, Taris, Nar Shadda and the like. Shaukat much prefers worlds with expansive waterways and open oceans as well as the openness of space.
weighing nearly half a ton he is somewhat sensitive about his size and weight though he has become somewhat desensitised compared to others of his species. this is because he sometimes thinks its because of his strange appearance from what it would have been if he had not been artificially altered. now he can become somewhat somber at times while others he can fly into a frenzy and wreck havoc to everything around him. while this has gained him an admirable reputation in the underworld it is less so in a more civilized and social setting. while he is omnivorous as per his biology he has a liking for fresh meat and the enjoys feeling like a primal beast. it makes things simple then and sometimes if he's enraged he acts very much like a wild animal, discarding weapons and going berserk and taking down anything and everything in his path. it is a good thing that he is not easily bothered by most things.

though not an exceptional pilot he can fly most vessels without causing a crash and land safely. he cannot navigate as expertly as others but that is because on his own he usually has a droid chauffeur him about but otherwise lets any company he keeps do the flying. by no means can he outmaneuver a more skilled pilot even if he had a better starship.
now like most of his knowledge Shaukat has learned things that relate to his job and lifestyle. he has vast knowledge of oceanic zoology and has studied a bit about marine biology, and things that pertain to his own anatomy and those he might injure when bringing them in or help with taking them down faster. but that is only on a need to know basis more often than not and has knowledge of basic first aid that could save his own life or an individual who's anatomy he is aware of but otherwise is not very skilled in this department.
weapons are a must in the galaxy whether it be a blaster, a knife or your own appendages. Shaukat has developed a consistent understanding and skill with ranged weapons over the years though he prefers the more simple types of weapons that are reliable in hazardous environments. if a weapon gets wet it better continue to work. but these are not as easy to come by especially ones that fit his size comfortably. he usually engages people from close to medium range and more often foregoes ranged combat altogether for simple brute force in a berserk show of wild brawling.
despite his size and appearance of being primitive hand to hand combat he is actually particularly skilled in melee combat as a martial arts. he has studied echani arts as a way to deal with some of his emotional instabilities but is also primarily skilled towards taking down smaller opponents. though one might think his size is a problem when it comes to agility he can be somewhat bulky in non combat situations but otherwise can fight with swift strikes and actions especially in the water.
perhaps one his greatest drawbacks is his lack of knowledge regarding technological interfaces. while knowledgeable about greater scientific information such as physics to a degree and some engineering (for ship upkeep as well as opponent dismantling) he is not very skilled in the more common technological interfaces. this is because he has had limited opportunity to utilize such tech due to his large size and so has never pursued it studiously. what little he knows he had just picked up as little tips and tricks so he can craft a basic message and use the readouts of simple terminals. otherwise he types with only two digits over an extended period of time after staring at a screen.
stealth is just as much a tool as any weapon or utilitarian device. being too large to fit in many doorways tends to make one stick out in a crowd as well as look like a fiendish creature from the depths of the darkest ocean. but Shaukat learned to mask his presence when he wanted to fit in as well as not cause everyone to be lifted a centimeter off the ground every time he took a step. he realized that when chasing down bounties or game it would be easier if he could conceal his presence. this only goes so far but is usually enough to gain the upper hand on an opponent who underestimates him.
