[OCTOBER 29, 2013]
Good morning/afternoon/evening, my Rebellious little pretties! Welcome to the first monthly Newsletter for the Rebellion Faction!
As you're all well aware the timeskip has occurred and things are now in full swing! Our member base has already exceeded thirty (30) members in just over a week! That is excellent to see that the community has so eagerly adopted the Rebel faction and we're already hooning along with 6 missions already underway and several impromptu threads already firing off, but more on this stuff later!
The Team!
The Rebel leadership team consists of four people. Green Ranger, who we know as Boli, is our Admin Support guy -- let's face it, he's there to keep me in line, but I value his presence there nonetheless! Vencu is our leader of the Civilian Resistance sub-faction. And we also have SparTACus, who is working closely with the admins and myself to bring the Imperial Knights into the Rebellion's fold in a new, exciting and different way to complete the "unified rebellion".
Then there's me. Cassanova, I'm the guy who's job it is to make sure you all enjoy yourselves here in the Faction, to make sure that everything you see and read is clear, concise and confusion-free. I'm also the one you speak to if you have any ideas, suggestions or requests of me or the leadership team, and as many folk can attest, I do everything I can to help you out!
Where do we fit?
The Rebellion fits in a tiny corner of the galaxy. Having been formed less than 10 months ago (ICly speaking) the Rebellion is still in its infancy. There are no fancy uniforms, no divisions, no agencies. It's little more than a bunch of folk with some guns, and a bunch of space-crooks all working together to see to it that the Sith get what's coming. The Rebels have no friends in other factions: The Sith, at the moment, barely even register us as an annoying itch. The Jedi, most likely sticking their cowardly noses into our business as they try to predict the future from their self-imposed exile. The Hutts are a more interesting one. We literally have no idea whats going to happen with them, and that excites me to new heights!
As with any Rebellion we plan to grow, we plan to gain momentum and we plan to succeed but the best part about all this is that how these victories come about will be based on you. Your ideas, the way you handle yourself in RP threads, all contribute to the Rebellion's successes or failures. (I'm willing to put $5 says we considerably more successes!)
Key Characters within the Rebellion!
Naturally, a Rebellion doesn't operate without people to lead it. Even with our loose ranking structure, there are still individual characters who are at the peak of their fields, here is a quick summary of some of them.
- General Terrsyn Pearot is the leader of the Rebellion, the very man who united the Alliance Remnant, Defiance Squadron and Wes Tavik's Civilian Resistance. Everyone in the Rebellion knows this name well and respects the man behind it.
- West Tavik is the leader of the Civilian Resistance, a more rag-tag group of criminals who are dedicated to seeing the Sith ousted just as much as Pearot and the men and women serving in the Rebel Militia.
- General Kara Vaalki is one of only a handful of former Jedi within the ranks of the Rebellion. She was the leader of Defiance Squadron, the team that brought the Sith to their knees at the Battle of Manaan. She is often credited as being the catalyst for the Rebellion's birth.
What's new since the timeskip?
Despite the timeskip having happened just over a week ago, the Rebel Leadership team and I have been hard at work, keeping things happening. With the help of a few members the Rebel Missions page is overflowing with use and fresh missions! (If you have any ideas, PM them to me!) We've seen the implementation of Training Sessions for your characters to give and enter in order to better your character's skillset and further contribute to the Rebellion!
Being sneaky, I've even put up a teaser to the upcoming Bounty Board where Rebel characters will work together to bring in persons of interest or mayhem -- this board will be home to both NPC's and PC's! Watch this space!
Where are the Imperial Knights?
What happened to the True Throne?
What happened to the True Throne?
I'm aware that this has been the topic of much debate amongst many members, and equally so amongst Faction leaders and the admins. We've successfully nutted out a concept, structure and a story for the changes that will be coming. Some of you may like those changes, others won't. We certainly hope that the vast, vast majority will be as excited by the next step in the evolution of the Imperial Knights as we have been in its conception and creation. More information will be released on this matter later as these changes will actually form the basis of a very important story-piece to the site (possibly a [MAIN THREAD] event, although I haven't confirmed that).
Now for what you've all been waiting for...
How come the Jedi and the Bogan get a skirmish!?
What comes next for the Rebellion?
What comes next for the Rebellion?
Yes, yes yes, Boli beat us all to it by diving head first into the first Skirmish of the timeskip. Bully for you, Boli. Go home.
What you need to realise is that the Rebellion barely has two dozen ships to its name, barely enough people to man them, and absolutely no friends in the galaxy at the moment. So these are the places which we will start our journey from a speck of dust irritating the Dark Lord of the Sith's reptilian eye, all the way up to a verifyable threat to his very status and power that he so craves.
The Rebel team and I have set ourselves the task of planning out our next move. What we've come up with is exciting and opens up many new avenues for the Rebels, and upon the success of this first campaign, will be a whole release of new missions to better show the situation within the rebels!
Thanks for coming and having a read, guys.
If you have any questions, queries or suggestions, feel free to post here!
Cheers,
Cassa
