It feels so good to be surrounded by friends who accept him despite a glimpse of the darker aspects of his past. Roanoke tells himself that he won't even dream of messing up this connection he's forging with his fellow Padawans. He can't help but smile, realizing that Shaw, Caul, and Zessel make it easy for him to finally count himself as a Padawan, a Jedi. He's grateful, so damn grateful, for this experience despite the scare and tears just now.
With the last of his tears wiped away and a new kind of resolve in his heart, Roanoke's focus shifts back to the matter at hand. He looks at the compass Caul shows them, his brows knotting with curiosity. Can he feel the Force emanating from it? He does, surprisingly, but it's difficult to ascertain the essence that drives it. Light or Dark? The mohawked teen swallows, blinking with surprise when Caul asks not to tell Ordeen about the compass, about following the direction it points to, and of Caul checking it out on his own.
They've been separated earlier. If Caul thought that Roanoke would snitch and stay behind, well, the ex-Sith would be happy to shatter whatever misconception his silence would bring before it would even form in his mind.
Roanoke glances at Shaw and gives his friend a quick grin upon recognizing the quote.
"You heard Shaw. So, uh... let's go?"
He rises from his seat, a show of support to Caul's decision. Leaving without telling Terek gnaws at a part of him that was taught complete obedience, but what the hell. He's not going to let Caul and Shaw tackle this mystery alone. Roanoke glances at Zessel, waiting for the white-haired Padawan's decision and ready to support it should he choose to follow or stay.
