Plot - When Shadows Fall

This will be a character plot of mine for Raylan Shawl to kinda push him in the direction of joining the Revanchist. On top of that I think it'd be a nice way to set up some character relationships through a shared tragic experience. I'll need some Jedi, Sith and possibly some republic characters to help me do this. So feel free to join if you find the idea interesting, I'd be happy to have you!

Thread #1 - Ask, CPvP, 1 Jedi and 1 or 2 Sith.

A small mining town isolated within the endless fields of Dantooine is known to harbor traveling Jedi. Having been a safe haven for the Jedi to stay for whatever reason so long as no attention was brought down on them. Recently this town had come to find a nearby Kyber Crystal cave which only strengthened it's value for the Jedi. Raylan Shawl, Jedi Shadow, has decided to stay there while he recovers from his wounds inflicted upon him by a Sith NPC he killed a few days prior.

The Sith find out about this town, their access to Kyber, the sheltering of Jedi and they discover Raylan is currently staying within the town. They will have none of this and set out to make a harsh statement to the Jedi. Dispatching a Sith (or two) and a detachment of troopers the mission is to kill or capture Raylan Shawl and subdue the town under Sith control. Thus they launch a surprise attack against the town. Before Raylan confronts the Sith he manages to send out a distress signal asking for the immediate assistance of any Jedi within the area.

This is a CPvP and will end with the town sacked by the Sith and the capture of my character Raylan into Sith custody.

Thread #2 - Ask, a few Jedi and I'll DM opposition.

A group of Jedi respond to Raylan's distress signal and arrive to the now ruined town. There they will find the remains of people who defy the Sith Order, a burned and hollow crisp of the town it once was. After searching for sometime these Jedi sense the presence of the Force, one riddled with fear. The Jedi find a young force sensitive girl who tells them that the Sith attacked and took her people away in chains. Along with the Jedi who was staying there.

A team of Sith troopers returns to the town looking for any survivors they may have missed. The Jedi will engage these troopers in order to find the location of the Sith encampment where they took the townspeople. I will DM opposition to this thread because Raylan will not be in it as he'll be captured. If the Jedi are successful they will find the location of the Sith encampment which will engage a rescue mission for the towns people and Raylan Shawl.

Thread #3 - Ask, Jedi vs Sith CPvP

This thread will consist of the attack on the Sith encampment. Here Raylan will be rescued from the clutches of the Sith. The Jedi who free him must ban together to fight off any Sith resistance. The goal will be to free the prisoners taken by the Sith. The opposition to this thread will be the Sith who took Raylan hostage in the first thread. On top of that I'm sure we can safely say, if need be, a few other Sith have joined the troopers. This is to make the thread balanced and fair as this will be a PvP. Because this will be PvP I want it to have the same amount of Jedi as Sith PC's.

If the Jedi are successful then the townspeople are freed. If the Sith are successful then the Townspeople become Sith property. That's just the way it is. I may split this thread up into 2 simultaneous threads, that way to make the PvP more focused on each individual task. 1 thread to free Raylan, the other to free the towns people.

Thread #4 - Ask, Jedi only

Assuming thread #3 is a victory for the Jedi this thread will consist of dealing with the townspeople. After safely repelling the Sith, freeing their prisoners and saving Raylan the Jedi are faced with one final task. They must convince the townspeople to still be loyal to the Jedi cause. The town once was a safe-haven for the Jedi, however after suffering such losses due to the Sith raid it's only natural for them to be reluctant to continue helping the Jedi. Thus the Jedi must convince them to remain loyal even after such tragedy.

On top of that the team of Jedi will have to decide what they'll do with the force sensitive child they found earlier in thread #2. Take her with them? Or let her live in peace away from the war that has consumed so many.

Are the PvP threads death disabled?

The CPvP will be death disabled because the ending to that thread has to be locked in for story purposes. However the PvP thread will not be death disabled. Your character, if engaged in a PvP, is not safe from death. I want the risks and rewards of those threads to matter. Your character really will decide the fate of the towns people, thus there has to be some kind of risk. Now, this is not to say that the threads must end in death, just that there is a possibility of character death. I much prefer it when two people come into a PvP for the purpose of telling a good story, not to claim another kill under their belt.

UPDATE:

After talking with people further on Discord I've come to the conclusion that this entire plot will be CPvP. There is no risk of character death. Due to this all fights between Sith and Jedi will have pre-determined outcomes. That being said, win or lose, you can still make it look damn cool on paper....or internet...whatever.

It certainly would, most Sith who have showed interest were higher up on the ranking ladder. It'd be nice to have some high up Jedi to balance that out. Even if they're not that tall...
