I'm going to start off with this: the following template is simply an offbeat version of the main template, and is thus optional in its changes. Eluding this template will not automatically make it a hundred times harder for your character to be approved, but this is simply for new members to get acclimated with what should be kept in mind when joining the Brotherhood— or really, the site in general.
NAME:
Self-explanatory. However, be sure to avoid using canonical last names (e.g. Skywalker)
FACTION:
Sith Brotherhood, unless you're joining some other lame faction. :^(
RANK:
Most Sith start out as simply: Sith. However, anyone is welcome to bump down to an Acolyte, for storyline & training purposes. Do keep in mind, however, the prospective limitations this may carry. In addition, "Sith Lord" and "Darth" titles and ranks must be earned later on. For further detail, read this link, or message either myself or any other member of the Sith.
SPECIES:
Human? Miraluka? Gungan? (pls no) Go with whatever you'd like, as long as it doesn't genuinely meddle with the set canon of this site. You can find an approved species list here, as well.
AGE:
Self-explanatory. However, if your character is a human or something of the like, but is hundreds of years old due to some ritual or dark side power, expect some serious repercussions in your appearance, as the dark side essentially corrupts the hell out of any user.
GENDER:
Male? Female? Transgender? Robot alien?
FORCE SENSITIVE:
Are they sensitive to the force? Are they trained, or untrained?
APPEARANCE:
Members are more than welcome to use an image of the character rather than describing them with unnecessary literary rigor. If you decide not to use an image, it's highly preferred you describe their features (hair color, eye color, complexion, physique) here.
ATTRIBUTES:
Strengths? Weaknesses? Try to be balanced. You're more than welcome to include matters such as speed, stamina, intelligence, and surveillance. However, you are more than welcome to combine this into your personality or skills category.
PERSONALITY:
Go into detail over what your character is like: do they like puppies? Do they have trust issues? Are they egotistical and aloof, or humble and passionate? Though you need fifty words within this category, it is highly recommended you go beyond to at least a 150 words. Or a hundred, at least. This is just so you can get comfy in what your character might typically think, and for us to get to know them better.
BIOGRAPHY:
What's their backstory? How did they get into the Brotherhood? How are they here today?
Keep in mind that if your character has a past within the Republic or the Jedi Order, you must receive approval from the Jedi/Republic leadership after posting. For example, my Sith was once a Jedi Knight who then defected to the Brotherhood. Hence the need for approval.
SKILLS:
Is your character any good in medicine? Slicing (hacking)? What about their finesse in combat? Do they prefer speed over brute force? Do they like to be acrobatic and theatrical in their moves, or blunt and direct? Can they speak multiple languages? Are they a good pilot, or love to shoot things? If they utilize a lightsaber, what kind of technique might they use? Form I (beginner and wild)? Form II (balance and precision)? Form III (defense and deflection)? Form IV (swift and acrobatic)? Form V (defense to offense)? Form VI (moderation in all forms)? Form VII (aggressive and unpredictable)? Such forms are optional for you to describe, and you are more than welcome to simply say: "graceful, precise, and theatrical."
GEAR:
This is perhaps the main reason why I've decided to throw this template up. Gear is an extremely important tidbit for new members, especially if you plan to participate in open threads, or join in on legitimate conflict. However, it is often overlooked. Members should keep in that mind that gear is very often a contributor to a character's success within a thread. Saying that, here are some tips & examples.
Technology this timeline may be fairly digressed, since we're based a thousand years before the Phantom Menace, but there are loads of absolutely brilliant tech and equipment that can easily save your character from a tight situation. This guide is an absolutely amazing catalog to weapons and armor for your character to use, and I have cited it repeatedly for new members. Just be sure not to go overload on gear (e.g. a dozen guns), but don't just stick with a "lightsaber, comlink, and ship." Why not throw in an awesome stun gun? Or a shotgun? How about a grenade that combats against the use of the force itself? A can of pepper spray for people like @Richie B.? The opportunities are endless!
ROLE-PLAYS:
Titles, links, and whatnot for threads you've participated in can go here.
More Tips:
You can find tips for formatting here, and possible fonts to use here.
Sites like Pinterest and DeviantArt (heh) are great when it comes to finding a face-claim.
Scared of using a face-claim someone else has used? Check 'em out here and see if it really is.
If you need any help, don't hesitate to PM me, or the gods of character profiles: @Gamov, @Marf, @whatever.
Also, need examples? Seriously, they're all here. Just click one.
Need more tips? I bet other annoying nerds posted some below this post. Check it out.
