Malia was born into the Zygerrian slaver clan known as the Thanda which was one of the Zygerrian Slave Empire’s many slaver families. As a child Malia grew up wanting for very little and was often spoiled with expensive gifts, her parents wanting to coax the quintessential attitude of Zygerrian superiority. She was taught at a private academy reserved for the upper echelons of Zygerrian society where she was schooled in arts reserved for high class individuals such as fencing in addition to general studies. She graduated near the top of her class.
In order to further her family and clan’s business in profiting off of the forced labor of others, Malia was apprenticed to a wealthy slave master who owned an auction house once she came of age in order to learn the ‘art’ of being a slaver. At age 18 she was taught everything related to her clan’s trade; including how to properly use a Shockwhip and how to break slaves prior to putting them up for sale. The Thanda clan, and Malia herself, swiftly became infamous for its daring raids and brutal tactics in order to further their clan’s wealth. It was not uncommon for Malia to take part in a raid on a passenger liner and later be forced to space anyone who was not deemed fit enough to be worth selling into slavery.
As her clan’s tactics became more and more brutal she began to fear retaliation from groups such as the Republic, Jedi, or other militant anti slavery organizations. One day her suspicions were proved correct when the raiding party she took part in was ambushed by (two Jedi knights). Between the seven other members of the Thanda clan, herself included, and the Jedi the resulting fight was very one sided in the Jedi’s favor. After managing to narrowly escape with her life after the failed raid a disgraced Malia returned to Zygerria in order to metaphorically lick her wounds. Soon after returning to her home planet Malia was used as a scapegoat in order to distract from the fact that the infamous Thanda clan had failed a raiding mission. She was branded a coward by her clan and was exiled after a brutal whipping, being permitted to return once she earned enough capital to repay her clan for their lost equipment and manpower.
Personality:
Malia is best described as narcissistic, posh, and believes that she is superior to others; personality traits that were encouraged by her parents and are not uncommon among other Zygerrians who profit off of the slave trade. She is racist and finds most non near-human races physically repulsive and beneath her with the exception of the Hutts and any other race that is willing to pay her large sums of money for her merchandise or work. Malia hardly ever fights fair and uses every trick in her arsenal to give her the upper hand both on and off the battlefield.
