Lightyears away from the core, far out of sight of the busy cities of Coruscant and Chandrilla lays a small farming planet in the Mid Rim. By all accounts, were someone unfamiliar with the state of affairs in the galaxy, Mandalore, and any young farm girl born on the back water world, should be insignificant in the grand scheme of events - however that is not how history played out. Instead the world gave birth to the greatest warriors this galaxy has ever seen, and allowed a back-water farm girl to take hold of her own destiny.

That young farm girl was named Karissa Fett. Born to a farmer and a warrior on Mandalore, Karissa lived a fairly typical Mandalorian life at an early age. Though she was born on Mandalore they moved to a different world within the system, to where her Mother's family lived. Her family owned a sizeable piece of land, and when she wasn't in school she would work on the farm with her Mother. Born into the warrior culture of Clan Fett her childhood was a tug of war between her parents. Her father
constantly sought to educate her about Mandalorian virtues, ideals, and the principle of warfare. Her mother, on the other hand, wanted a peaceful life for her daughter, tending to the farm and staying home. This should have been expected, however, as her father had married one of the farmers of their world. Not a warrior as those of Clan Fett had been for centuries, her mother had no desire to ever leave their world, and thus led to a marriage full of turmoil for the two.

Karissa ultimately chose the life that her father wanted for her, breaking her mother's heart. Her dad, Gelen, knew that warriors were the founders of Mandalorian society, and a bloodthirst ran through all of their veins. Some chose to ignore it and stay on world, but the call for war had picked Karissa.
Her mother was less accepting of 'destiny' as Gelen always called it, and the disagreement often led to hellish fights between the two of them. The young girl was put through the best education they could afford, though it still paled compared to richer children. The family would take yearly trips back to Mandalore for her father to see his parents and homeworld. During this time she developed an on-again off-again friendship with a group of Mandalorians, including Ral Vizsla, Moira Kryze, Prudii Kyramud, Bardan Kex, and others. She often found herself getting into mischief with the group, but when Prudii seemed to disappear the group dissolved, with smaller friendships forming and Karissa found herself cut out. When she came of age Karissa passed her Verd'goten with ease and was became a grown woman in Mandalorian society.

When she was still a teen she joined a group of likeminded Mandalorians that called themselves the
'Keldabe Protectors'. The group strived to be like the Mandalorian protectors of old, but without oversight or clear rules they ended up lawless vigilantes unsure of how far was too far. Karissa was never one that had worried too much about rules, collateral damage, or morals when it came to warfare, but the lack of any organization in the group bred chaos - and that wasn't what she was interested in at all. Karissa served on the Mandalorian Planetary Defense Force until the Republic puppet Mand'alor disbanded the group - sending the troops to the Border Alliance instead. Karissa refused to take part in the Alliance, and instead became a Bounty Hunter and hired hand. She took on high paying contracts and became one of the most acclaimed Hunters in the galaxy, though her reputation fell far below that of Talia Al'saif & Diva Tumi. It was during a televised press conference with the BHG when she learned that the name, Talia Al'saif, that she had heard so much correlated to a face she had also seen a lot of. The face was older, and harder, but she definitely still recognized the girl she had known growing up - Moira Kryze.

Though working for hire satisfied her desire for warfare, it still left her unfulfilled. She wanted to better Mandalore, to fight for their independence and power, and instead she was just padding the pockets of the richer individuals of the Galaxy. She stuck with Merc & Hunter work until she heard about that
Ha'rangir's Chosen had made their return and were rising to prominence. Immediately upon hearing about it she cancelled any contracts she had and joined their ranks. As she would later find out, she joined onto the fighting company in its waning days. Karissa never found herself in the inner circle of the mercenary band, nor did she ever find herself working directly alongside Caedryn or the others that she'd known. When the tidal wave that was Death Watch washed over the group she found herself out of a job. The branch of the Chosen she had been with had either thrown their support behind Caed, or disbanded. It wasn't until months later that she heard the initial reports, that Prudii Kyramud had taken the remains of the Chosen and resurrected Death Watch. Reactions among Mandalorians varied vastly, ranging from horrified shock, to smoldering pride. Karissa found herself somewhere in the middle, dubious of their methods but hopeful about their success.

When Death Watch was able to topple the Republic regime on Mandalore and bring independence to the world Karissa made up her mind, her support was with Death Watch. However like the Chosen, soon after Mandalore the group was 'disbanded' and 'disavowed'. It hadn't been a surprising move, Death Watch had done a number of horrible things to achieve freedom, and any intelligent regime would have done the same thing. What had surprised her was the disavowing of Prudii as well, he had been their Mand'alor and it poised a question as to where the historic title would fall in a modern Mandalore.

Karissa is a swirling pool of impatience, ambition, and pessimism. When she was still young and lived on Mandalore with her parents Karissa was never content. She was never happy to stay at home, or just go to school like other girls. Karissa is extremely confident and forward, and is never afraid to take what she wants. She will blurt whatever is on her mind before thinking of the ramifications, and definitely subscribes to the think first ask questions later philosophy. Karissa was quick to mature but slow to develop friends, leading her to live the life of a loner during much of her early life. She learned to work well alone, and working on a team requires more work for her.

Karissa's morals are loose and pliable, often easily bent for whatever mission or objective she has in mind. Ends always justify the means, and collateral damage is a tragic necessity. She is one that will fight and die for her cause, but isn't blindly loyal. Instead she questions everything and trusts little.
