  History is dictated by the victor, but the flip side of the story always festers—surviving in damp shadows and long forgotten crevices. One such abyss of forgotten tales and banished culture exists on the fertile plains of Raxus, home to the disgraced and exiled Mandalorian House Genet. The Genet put survival above all else, a trait that kept them alive alive generation after generation—despite betrayal at the hands of the other Five Mandalorian Houses. Kara's childhood was no different than that of the other Genet children she grew up with. Those who were strong and capable were forged into warriors, meant to carry on the mantle of House Genet—those who weren't fell to the wayside.
  
  Life was cold and compassionless for Kara growing up. The importance of social roles were impressed upon her from a young age, and she was taught to hold her emotions in—living life in the shadow of Sith who could feel even the slightest touch of emotion in her. Her father was a Commander in the Sacred Band, and had a political career he was pursuing, while her mother taught at the Raxus Brotherhood Academy, later the Imperial Academy. Kara was given the best education that money could afford, both academically and combat training. Her fortitude and opaque demeanor carried her through the academy with ease, and gave a good start to her military career, just as the Brotherhood found it reshaping into the Empire.
  
  She pushed herself through the ranks of the newly formed Empire however she needed to. Officers that found themselves with the chance to extend her a promotion often found themselves visited in the bedroom by Kara. Her fellow candidates who out performed, on the other hand, often found themselves suffering horrid accidents that would leave the line to promotion otherwise unimpeded for her. This wasn't to say that Kara's military career was a bland or below average one, no she outperformed most during her rise through the ranks. She became known by many within the ranks of the Legion as the Hurricane, a driving force bringing chaos where it was needed, in preparation for sweet order to sweep in and take its rightful place.
  
  At the beginning of the cold war between the Dominion and the Empire, Kara lead an Imperial raiding party on Phindar, one of the worlds that, until then, had belonged to the Empire. The Dominion had ripped it away from the Empire's embrace, and forced the world into submission in its regime—but not without resistance. Their attacks targeted supply chains and garrison construction, costing the Dominion time and resources, though eventually they halted hostilities in order to prevent all out war from beginning... just yet. In the process, however, Kara was able to retrieve some of the supplies the Mandalorians had been shipping, including a set of their brand new CCT Mk II armor. The options within the Empire for Mandalorian armor were sparse, and few held the unique and undeniable look of proper beskar'gam. Kara claimed the armor for herself, and has since kept it in shape.
  
  Her success during raids and skirmishes, and her ability to shift the blame when said success was in short supply, earned her the position of Commander within the Empire. While Kara had often worked on the outskirts of the Empire, away from the more notable names, her promotion to Commander moved her under the command of well known General Alexi Petrov, and his corps of soldiers. This was yet another strategic move in Kara's snaking military career, an all too welcome stepping stone to bring her to the political, and military limelight.
