"It's not like I enjoy Quesh any more than any of you other mucks out here, but you know it beats getting shot at on some planet you don't remember the name of or have some leather-faced weequay pound away on you for looking at him funny in the prison yard."

Kal turned to gaze through the window towards the toxic Quesh landscape while the bartender refilled his glass with the usual odd concoction. The refineries were crude Hutt designs and in stark contrast to the futuristic style of Systech's interior designer, crafting a somewhat surreal image to highlight the different levels of technological advancement.

"The only downside is the lack of women, I suppose-" his drinking companions all raised their glass in concurrence, "-but what we get in return is free drinks and no sobriety rule when we start work."

He took a sip from his spiced Bantha milk and re-read the message on his wrist-datapad; ::Please excuse my previous insistence that you pay back your debt to me, Mr Titch. Consider it a gift from me to your organization. I was good friends with Davik Lorso back in the day and I should've known better.::

The message confused him, for he knew Davik Lorso as being a former Exchange Crime Lord that died seven years ago, yet didn't understand what that had to do with him. Systech certainly didn't have this kind of pull on the Smuggler's Moon. Ofcourse, he didn't know that Commander DeWitt was using his name as an alias for his gang membership ruse and was busy climbing the ranks of the Exchange trying to climb the ranks of the Imperial Legion. Aside from his spice habit, this DeWitt would be the cause of a lot of headaches.

Kal was born in the lower levels of crime-infested Coruscant and came to know little of the liberties that to some were synonymous to the Old Republic. His parents were factory workers who paid heavy taxes to the local gangs and their continued poverty offered their only child very little opportunities of getting out. That is, until Kal found the nerve to rob a gangmember of his honestly robbed credits and boarded a shuttle headed up. Two days later he was a trooper in the Coruscant Planetary Defense Force. As a native to the roughest part of the lower levels, Kal was assigned to the unit of Commander DeWitt and became more of a glorified law enforcer than an actual soldier. The unit used primarily non-lethal weaponry like the Systech Corporation Knock-out Grenades and the Systech Aural Blaster and as such they never managed to keep the criminals from the street. Still alive, they always came back due to overcrowded prisons.

Even after the establishment of a single Republic Army, mistakenly named its 'Grand' army, the war raged further onward towards its Sith-favored climax when the Sith Brotherhood managed to make a great assault on the Jewel of the Core. In the chaos of this invasion, Commander DeWitt had suggested they took matters into their own hands and Kal heartily agreed. In a night of terror, Kal took to the lower levels and murdered the gangsters whose taxes had always crippled his parents.

But where most of his unit managed to escape to the safety of Chandrila, Kal got separated when the Brotherhood fleet began their orbital bombardment and missed the rendezvous. Alone and exhausted from the battle he was easily overcome two days later and imprisoned on planet.

The rough prison regime of a world transitioning between rulers was hard on Kal, who found himself sharing a block with many of the gangsters he had put away while a member of Commander DeWitt's unit. For three years he had to be on his toes, balancing time in isolation with prison yard scrummages, but at the end of those three years and a careful psychological assessment he was released to make room for captured insurgents.

Learning of the news that his parents had passed away and their possessions taken by the gangs, Kal had nothing to start his new life with upon release. Down on his luck and unwilling to stay on Coruscant, he replied to a Systech Corporation HoloNet advertisement and found himself a week later protecting Systech shipments.

Quesh.png
It's been three years since Kal joined the corporation and still he's nothing more than a security officer changing duties stations from deployments on cargo ships heading for Sith Space to protecting the perimeter of Systech Corporation HQ on the toxic planet of Quesh. For most of his colleagues it was nothing more than a quick way to earn some credits before signing up to the Imperial Legion or stepping up their game as security advisers in the Corporate Sector.

Kal, however, was content. That was to say that he needed the sustained flow of credits from Systech to be able to pay-off the credit he booked on Nar Shaddaa's casino's and brothels. Unfortunately the Exchange suddenly got it out for him and he went into hiding among the Mandalorians.

Life among the Mandalorians didn't suit Kal, however, and he soon found himself working for the Exchange. It helped, ofcourse, that the bounty on his head already had him working for them and their introductions were swift, yet complicated. Together with Talia Al'Saif he hunted down the Coruscant Exchange Boss, who then convinced him to leave the Mandalorians and seek his security with the Exchange.

Leaving the Dominion behind, Kal went to Nar Shaddaa and helped with the destruction of the Desilijic clan's assets and criminal organization. A feat where his training with the Dominion sure was helpful.

"CATSCRATCH"

Even though intended by Arakyd Industries to be the ship for general public, the Lethisk-class freighter was too costly for any but the richest Republic citizens. Some of the ships have found their way into the hands of crime lords and smugglers, but most were acquired by its target group: the wealthy families such as Sandral family from Dantooine, who kept their ship docked atop their estate. More than 30 ships were sold at significant discount to Exchange crime bosses by a group of Arakyd employees, who were later sent to the spice Mines of Kessel for that crime, including the Sector Executive of the Raioballo sector.

What makes this bucket so special is the places its been and the people that recognize it. Having been in the posession of the (now deceased) crime lord of Ryloth, the ship was used to transport him to spice and slaving deals across the Galaxy. Over the decade Davik personalized it, replacing the standard floors with Bandomeer yew and adding the second crew quarters to the main living area to create more room for his infamous parties. At the cost of storage for no less than ten missiles, Davik had secret storage compartments built in that can hide at least one adult effectively (tested) and in reasonable comfort. In its own way its been converted to not only a smuggling vessel for goods, but also certain individuals that either need access to a planet or need to get off without its security forces being aware. It has also charted many backwater planets and their somewhat secluded docking bays, making this particular ship especially valuable to the smuggling kind.

After Davik's untimely death the ship passed many hands to end up at the Systech docking facility on Quesh. It has since been used as a transport and diplomatic vessel by the corporation. Lately it finds its primary use as a glorified shuttle from Quesh to Nar Shaddaa. Due to finding excess to his many vices on Nar Shadaa, Kal Titch is one of its most frequent users and actually took it with him when he joined the Mandalorian Dominion.

A previous owner [surl=http://www.thestarwarsrp.com/forum/index.php?threads/crowning-achievement.71053/]stole the Crown Jewels of Onderon[/surl] during the chaos of the first Sith Invasion of the planet and these jewels are still hidden in one of the Catscratch's secret smuggling compartments. One night, when Kal had brought two handsomely compensated Twi'lek dancers with him on board, the particular compartment popped open. Being the only one that knows the Onderon Crown Jewels are on the ship, Kal has tightly locked them away in a smaller more concealed compartment.
