NAME: Jax Merrik
AGE: 20
SPECIES: Cybernetic Human

FACTION: The Sith Empire
RANK: Sith Marauder

HEIGHT: Tall
HOMEWORLD: Mandalore
HAIR COLOR: Jet Black
EYE COLOR: One Blue Eye, One Cybernetic Eye
FORCE: Positive

STRENGTH:

Born Mandalorian, Jax consistently pushed himself to be stronger, better and more powerful than his pears. Hailing from a house populated mainly with intellects and less confrontational Mandalorians, Jax pushed himself to train to be the strongest he could be. As a result, he is very strong

DEXTERITY:

Jax is not very agile, owed to the fact that he largely focused on strength training throughout his life. Jax never considered this a hinderance at all, as he would normally just use Jetpacks to supplement his slow movements.

CONSTITUTION:

Hardy and Strong, Jax is in great physical shape. He did not live in much hardship and trained rigorously as a child, so his stamina and general health is quite good.

INTELLIGENCE:

Jax’s intellect is mainly focused on specific areas. As a child, he was very uninterested with much of the history lessons he received, however he loved learning about technology. Being from House Ordo, he was able to enrich his interests. Jax, in addition to his combat aptitude, became quite an efficient Slicer.

WISDOM:

More than anything, Jax knows that one has to fight smartly, in addition to fighting hard. Being wise in combat is the difference between staying alive or dead. However, outside of combat sometimes this escapes Jax. He hates it when people dance around the subject, preferring to be direct. However, this attitude is not necessarily the wisest attitude to take.

CHARISMA:

Jax dislikes the needless dancing of conversation. When he speaks to people he likes to be direct and firm. As a result, this has left Jax with a seemingly callous attitude, as he finds most conversations to be a waste of time. In his mind, actions speak louder than words.

  • Jax Merrik was born to a small sect of Clan Merrik of House Ordo on Mandalore. He was the middle child of three siblings, and lived in what for all things considered would be the ideal family. A loving mother and father, amiable siblings, what more could one ask for.

Jax was born to a smaller sect of the Clan that had a large grudge against Force Sensitives. House Ordo held a staunch reputation for disdaining Force Sensitives. Jax’s own father was a reputable Jedi killer, having killed dozens of Jedi over the years on the Dominion’s path to emancipation. Jax’s clan happened to take that grudge to the extreme. Most force users that encountered a member of the clan were attacked the second they were identified.

For the most part, Jax’s upbringing was largely uneventful. As a child of Mandalore, Jax was trained as a warrior for the better part of his life. Warfare became his life, and Combat his purpose. Jax constantly felt the need to prove himself, beating many of his peers in sparring practices even at a young age. Though he enjoyed blasters and explosives, his true loves were bladed weapons. He liked getting up close and personal, directly facing the problem. As a clan within House Ordo, Jax was also taught much about technology. He gained a particular affinity for slicing, becoming quite proficient as he aged. Jax was always pushing himself for a challenge. He was much more physical than many of his Ordo peers, and always wanted to push himself through combat.

However, as Jax aged, he realized something different about himself. As puberty occurred around age 13, the Force began to manifest through the young boy. Initially, the boy was terrified of his powers, knowing the attitudes of his family. At first, Jax tried to suppress his abilities, but no matter what the Force would find ways to be made manifest. Typically in times of fear or anger. But as the years went by, Jax had come to the conclusion that his powers were a gift, and nothing to be scared of. So he tried to make this connection stronger, while still hiding it from his family.

Jax, using the academic resources of House Ordo, was able to procure texts and knowledge about the Force. His reasons that he told his family was to study up on the Force so he could learn to kill Jedi, but really he wanted to teach himself how to use it. However, this front only lasted so long. One day, at the age of 15, as Jax was meditating to try and enrich his connection, his older brother walked in on him. Jax, unaware that objects around him were levitating, was unable to hide his connection any longer. His brother ran away, to inform his father.

Word quickly spread of the “abomination” of Clan Merrik. People were scared and wanted Jax gone. Jax’s father, in order to save his own reputation in the clan, attempted to kill Jax in a duel. Jax was able to hold his own, but he knew he was no match for his father. Eventually he succumbed to his father’s superior duelling skills, but not before losing his left eye during the duel. Though in the end, Jax’s father wasn’t able to kill his own blood. Instead, Jax was exiled from the clan, after receiving medical attention for his eye. Stripped of his weapons, his beskar’gam and his status in the Merrik clan, Jax left feeling abandoned, sadness and hate. Even his mother made no move to protest his exile. Only his younger sister made any protest, not that her voice was strong enough on her own. All Jax felt was hate for his family and hate for the Mandalorians that rejected him. At that point in time, he was fine being exiled.

Around the same time that Jax was exiled, the Sith Empire had begun to solidify their hold over Republic territory and stake a major claim in the Galaxy. While still a member of his clan, Jax read of the Sith Order. He was fascinated by the tales or powerful warriors with no inhibitions, letting the Force flow freely and destructively. He heard rumours of the Sith destroying an entire planet through their mastery of the Force, and Jax was enthralled and fascinated at the prospect of such power. Jax admired the Sith Empire for their prowess in combat and their abilities to conquer. After his exile, Jax came to believe that the Sith Empire were the superior warriors in the galaxy. Having no more family, and no willing ties to his culture, Jax decided to pledge himself to the Sith. He wanted to learn more about the Force and also to test himself in combat.

Jax attained passage to the world of Korriban and was enrolled in a Sith Academy planet-side. Over the course of the next five years, Jax would train and fight and earn prestige in the Academy. Initially, he was held in suspicion by the instructors, some thinking he would be a Mandalorian double agent. However, he would go on to prove his commitment to the Sith and begun to embrace the Dark Side of the Force. It was through the Dark Side and through the teachings of the Sith that Jax finally found his purpose. His true test of combat would not come from the Mandalorians that had abandoned him, but from the Sith that gave him purpose.

Finally, after much training, Jax took his place as a member of the Sith Order, as a Sith Marauder. He was proud of of his place in the Order. He had found that the Dark Side of the Force was the key to power, and the Sith were his means to challenge himself. He would prove himself, and he would strive for Sith Supremacy throughout the Galaxy.

  • Skills:
    • Languages: Fluent in both Mando'a and Basic.
    • Marksmanship: Being Mandalorian, Jax was trained in the art of warfare ever since he was a child. He is quite proficient with most firearms and also knows his way around a flamethrower
    • Lightsaber Combat: Specializing as a Sith Warrior, Jax has trained himself to become a formidable weapon of the Empire.
    • Slicing: Jax is an incredibly proficient slicer. His upbringing with House Ordo gave him the means and the method to enrich his talents. Now he uses the technological expertise he learnt with House Ordo to serve the Sith.
    Gear:
    • His lightsaber. The one object he truly holds sacred. A simplistic hilt with sharper blades surrounding the emitter. It emits a Red blade.
    • A set of Sith Robes with armoured plating. Jax is incredibly proud to be Sith and likes to display his allegiance to all who can see. Especially to any Mandalorians.

  • Jax is a strong believer in rule of the strong. The Strong shall rule, and the weak will either follow or die. That is simply how things are. Thus, he is incredibly loyal to his superiors in the Sith Empire. Those who have proven themselves to be of superior power were to be given respect. Those who could not, would be superseded. If a Sith Lord proved themselves strong, Jax willingly serves. But he will not tolerate serving a weaker lord. Confrontation and challenge will keep the individual and the whole Sith strong.

Jax is very confrontational and direct. He does not like to waste time with pleasantries and prefers to get straight to the point. This goes well with his role as a warrior, as he is willing to do the job that must be done with no hesitation. Jax will always seek greater heights to his power and new challenges to face. He has adopted the Sith code in this regard, believing the Force will set him free to face any challenge.

As a member of House Ordo, Jax was raised to inherently dislike the Jedi. Ordo were notorious for fighting against the Jedi, and Jax was raised in that tradition. He does not hate the Jedi like most Sith, as he really doesn’t have a good reason. Rather, Jax sees the Jedi as another means of challenge. He views the Jedi with contempt for what he considers their inherent weakness. The Jedi are inferior to the Sith, in Jax’s view, and must be eliminated before their weakness infects the galaxy.

Fancy Shmancy.
I'm just gonna tag @Prudence so he can take a look at the Mandos from house Ordo, and whether or not they would shun a force user.

While it's on the more 'extreme' spectrum, it's totally within the realm of possibilities for an ordo. Prudence seal of approval :prudence:

My thoughts would be it was a very extreme Anti-Force section of the Ordos, which would give Jax a crisis of "Not-All-Mandalorians" later on as he goes up against other Mandos in service to the Sith. Maybe an interesting storyline or two to be had there.

But hooray, very happy to have the Prudence seal of approval :prudence: !!!!
