Dear ****ing God...

YOU WILL TAKE IT AND LIKE IT

The list is only getting rid of those few species. That is it.

Bans seem unnecessary to me, since people can and will make things that are even more broken with or without those, but I guess Im just glad that the list isnt larger, and that Gen'Dai are on it.

It's not a complete list. There may be more. These are just the most important ones of those that we have decided upon thus far.

I think the Ysalamir should be allowed. They're hard enough to get and were really only used in fitting circumstances AFAIK- attacking the Jedi Temple and during transfers of Jedi. Usually they didn't even play into the equation.

Yuuzhan Vong should be permanently banned just for being so completely retarded.

Can't take someone with a purple anime guy avatar seriously when he calls something retarded. :CStern

I still don't understand all the Yuuzhan Vong hate. If there had been less authors writing them (ergo less disparities in their interpretation) and they came from the Unknown Regions instead of another galaxy, they'd be just another species with new tech.

The whole thing with them being cut off from the Force doesn't sit well with me.

Oh, I'm pretty sure that will be retconned if the species is allowed.

If they wind up being allowed, I'm going to fight tooth and nail for their lack of existance in the Force to be removed. It's pointless for us to ban Ysalamiri if we're going to allow the Vong to be Force-immune.

OK, people, assumptions are being made in this thread and outside of it:

  • There was always going to be an in-universe reason as to why the Ysalamir were extinct. It was not simply a case of saying they couldn't be used.
  • The Vong will be altered. The Force issue is one of the biggest things that will likely have to be altered as we developed the Vong in the next few weeks.
There you go.

Wasn't the Ysalamir only effective over a couple foot radius?

Ysalamiri did not actually negate the Force; since all existence was infused with Force energy[2] this would not be possible. Rather, they projected a Force bubble inside which it was completely neutral and unable to exert any influence. A single bubble measured up to 10 meters in radius; groups of ysalamiri could extend this radius by kilometers, depending on how large the group was
