BIOGRAPHY
-
Vin is the daughter of Liam Pavan Organa, a member of a cadet branch of Alderaan's royal House of Organa, making her Alderaanian royalty by birth. Her mother, a Jedi she never knew, would have risked expulsion from the Order if her relationship with Liam became known to the Council and left her lover and child behind to stay with the Order. As Liam's only child she was the heir to his title and was raised with every comfort that a child could have asked for. Liam, considering himself to be partly at blame for not being able to convince Vin's mother to stay, pampered Vin and gave her everything she asked for. Vin was five when she visited the capital with her father and had her first encounter with a Jedi, who immediately sensed her strength within the Force. Though Liam was hesitant to let her go, he knew that he couldn't hold her back from her legacy. Upon encouragement from other members of his family, who saw having a Jedi in the family as a powerful bargaining chip, he let her leave with the Jedi.
Leaving her home and her father almost broke Vin, as her teachers quickly realized that Liam hadn't just pampered his daughter, he had spoilt her. Transitioning from a life of pure comfort to the ascetic ways of the Jedi was not an easy transition for Vin, and it took years for her to start adjusting to her new life. Ultimately, in a bid to help her move on from her past life, the Jedi sent her to be trained by Jedi Master Bo-dan Fey. Fey, one of the more reclusive and anti-social members of the Order, had exiled himself on a distant planet with almost no contact with the Order or the Galaxy at large. But eccentric as he was, he was also an exceptional Jedi with a stellar track record when it came to training Jedi.
It took some time, but Fey managed to get Vin to let go of her past and start seeing herself as a servant of the Force. Cut off as they were, Fey was able to protect Vin from the ongoing conflict with the Exiles and prepared her not to fight the Exiles, but to serve the Force as a Jedi should. Fey had made his home on the outskirts of a large forest, and the two Jedi spent most of their time traveling to the various towns and villages that were scattered around the forest. The villagers saw them as little more than wandering hermits, and mostly left them to themselves. They were considered weird because they lived so close to the forest, which almost all the locals were afraid of. Early on Vin would help Fey help keep the locals safe, stopping crimes when they could, catching criminals when possible. But soon she realized these were Fey's more mundane duties. The real reason he was there was to guard the forest.
She had thought the forest and the stories the locals shared over drinks were just that, stories. But when Fey finally took her into the forest and she sensed what lay within she knew that wasn't the case. There was a darkness within the forest, a darkness that hard to miss even for someone as untrained as her. The real protection the Jedi offered the locals was from the feral beasts that lived in the forest, corrupted by the Dark side and a threat to any that ran into them. Fey's training, along with dealing with the darkness within the forest and whatever it had to throw at them meant that Vin was constantly being pushed to the limit.
Vin didn't know it at the time, but Fey was preparing her to face the darkness that had consumed the Galaxy. For years he had fought the Council when they asked him to send Vin back, adamant that he would not be forced into rushing her training. While this helped Vin, it ruined Fey's relationship with the Council. So when the time came that the darkness within the forest grew too strong for the two Jedi to handle on their own the Council refused to send help. Left with no alternatives, Fey had to send Vin to the Council to explain their predicament in person and return with whatever aid she could muster. After more than a decade in isolation, the time has come for Vin to face the what the Galaxy had to offer. - To be added...
ABILITIES
-
Vin was born with a very strong connection to the Force, and over a decade's worth of training has given her a level of proficiency with the Force that is advanced for her age. She possesses raw strength, but still has a ways to go before she is able to harness her full potential and gain the finer control that comes with true mastery of the Force. Still, as a Jedi she is definitely one who relies more on the Force than her skills with a lightsaber.
Force Sense: Developed over the course of years spent on the alert for an attack by corrupted animals, this is probably her most refined skill. She is very skilled at sensing others around him, particularly other Force users, and being able to sense when she is being lied to.
Empathy: Be it due to her Zeltron heritage, or just some innate ability, Vin is very sensitive to the feelings of those around her, particularly those she knows well. Her fine tuned senses within the Force open her up to a sea of emotions, which can at times be overwhelming and could even be seen as a weakness that could be used against her. Danger Sense: Fey's teaching made her focus less on the more flamboyant applications of the Force, such as Force enhanced acrobatics or waves of telekinetic destruction, and develop a more refined connection to the Force. As Fey explains it, closing off all the loud noises allows her to better hear the whispers of the Force. These whispers have kept her alive through more than one expedition into the forest, giving her warnings about impending danger. This "luck", as she often calls it, is probably the single greatest gift at her disposal.Mind Trick: Another skill that benefits from her more subtle approach to the Force is her ability to influence others. The finer control she has over the Force makes it easier for her to influence others. Though she initially struggled with the morals of using the Force to influence someone's thoughts, by being selective about when she uses these powers she has made his peace with this aspect of her abilities. Vin mostly used these powers to calm people in the aftermath of particularly violent attack from the forest's creatures, or to prevent people from panicking during or before such attacks. The frequency of the attacks meant that she had a great deal of practice with her powers.Telekinesis: As a young Jedi Telekinesis was the ability Finn showed the greatest affinity for. While he was once very skilled, this is one of the areas where his powers have regressed the most. It is also the clearest reflection of how he has changed over the years, changing from a loud and exuberant teen to a calm and cautious adult. A lack of practice has left him capable of doing little more than floating fruits and dishes across the room, and that too requires some concentration to achieve. -
While Fey's training involved building and learning to use a lightsaber, Vin has only ever used her blade to fight animals, practice with a training remote, and the occasional sparring session with Fey. While her Force abilities might be advanced for her age, her skills with a lightsaber are very much at the level of a padawan.
Form II, Makashi: With the Jedi clashing against the Exiles for almost a century, Fey had mastered the second form of lightsaber combat, and passed on the same knowledge to Vin. She won't be accidentally stabbing herself to death, but she still has a ways to go before she is considered a good swordsman. -
With years of training and surviving off of the land, Vin is strong, fast and exceedingly nimble.
Hand to Hand Combat: As Fey did not want the locals to know that they were Jedi, any occasion when they were called upon to protect the peace in view of others resulted in Vin making use of hand to hand combat. -
Vin's other skills include:
Intelligence: While no genius, Vin is quite bright and a quick learner. Her naturally inquisitive personality serves her well in this regard, as she is always open to the project of learning something new. While her occasional absentmindedness may make people think that she is slow and dim-witted, she is anything but. She also has a sharp tongue, quick to speak up and more than often regret what she has said. She is
Pilot: Having spent most of her life in isolation on one planet, Vin isn't really a particularly skilled or experienced pilot. Having only used speeders and bikes to travel, she is decently skilled at piloting them, but that is about the extend of her skills as a pilot.
Technology: Vin hasn't had a lot of exposure to cutting edge technology, at least not since before she joined the Jedi Order. She is able to make her way around consoles, and isn't completely technologically illiterate, but she isn't really someone capable of slicing into secure records or bypass locked gates. She makes do with a lightsaber. She knows barely enough mechanics to maintain her lightsaber and the speeder bike that was her lifeline.

As a freshly knighted Jedi, Vin is just one in a sea of lightsaber wielding monks that the Galaxy couldn't care about. Neither does she have a reputation to be worried about, nor is she actively looking to gain one. -
The Scrubbiest
Despite being a Jedi, Vin can be something of a klutz at times. She has lost her lightsaber on multiple occasions, things had gotten so bad that for a while Fey only let her use practice sabers as it would be less dangerous if they were misplaced or fell into the wrong hands.
