Caldric can come off as detached and cold, but this due to his upbringing as a soldier. Past the cold exterior is a good hearted man that cares for his people and those in need. He will often go out of his way to help others, especially children and those who are helpless. While his main love is for his people, he will not hesitate to help others.
While not the most learned man, Cal has the mind of an experienced tactician. His quietness that stems from a constantly calculating mind is often misunderstood as being closed off to others.
The Mandalorian is loyal to a fault and will do just about anything to help those who have gained his trust. He has few friends, but those he have are extremely close to him and he would die to protect any of them.
While Caldric family was from Mandalore, and his early childhood was spent there, he spent most of his time growing up on his families remote compound on Concordia. His earliest memories were his mother's schooling during the day and combat and weapon training with father in the afternoon. His life consisted mainly of two activities until he was just entering his teenage years.
As he grew older, he began spending more and more time with his father training. They would go on expeditions in the wilderness for days, Cal always having to find his own way to survive. It was during this time he developed a love for the outdoors. He became a decent survivalist, but these skills were nothing compared to his skills as a soldier. From an early age, he felt the call to be a warrior. It was a calling that was nurtured and constantly encouraged by both of his parents.
When he was sixteen, he opted to join the Border Alliance to help defend his home. He adopted the disciplined lifestyle of a soldier with ease and soon found himself climbing the ranks of the disorganised militia. Over time, the rag tag group of soldiers he was with was forced to become more and more organised until they were informed they were being absorbed by the formal military of the Republic. They had been given no choice in the matter. The Border Alliance had always been about protecting the interest of border worlds that often went unnoticed by the Core.
He shared a growing distrust of the Republic with many of fellow soldiers, many whom were Mandalorian. The Republic had ceased to become a collective group of plants who wanted to benefit from working together and was turning into an Empire. He left the military, returning home to family after five years. He spent the next years working as a mercenary, travelling the Galaxy. He knew of the rising tension on his home, and the growing influence of the Death Watch. While he had been approached several times by the group, he refused to join with them. He agreed with separation from the Republic, but Caldric was convinced the best way to accomplish the goal would be by peace.
As war came and Mandalore was forced to fight for its freedom, Caldric joined in the fight. As the dust settled and the Mandalorian Dominion was taking shape, he sought to join their ranks. For the first time since he had left the Border Alliance he felt like he was where he belonged, defending his people.
