Xucphra City

It was always a pleasure to be talking to Lyra Durand, or most famous to the galaxy as Anat Asteria. Together her and Newton are two of the brightest minds of the century, bar none.

Newton was smirking as he was about to meet with his old friend again. There is business to take care of. There was some sort of wormhole in the Maw, and he sent Nye to investigate it. He reported back and the results of the expedition was something Newton was not prepared for. The wormhole who a new galaxy? Nye also brought back physical souvenirs, pictures .etc Nye also made a very detailed report of what he found afterwards and what happened. It all seemed very outlandish to him, but it was the truth.

This is very good news. This opens up many opportunities now that there is a way back in and out of what is called the 'Stygian Reaches'. Newton was starting to put things in motion, starting to mobilize elements of his mega-corporation and it's many subsidiaries.

Prior to the meeting, Newton sent data from this 'Linchpin Station' over to Lyra, so she can review it and have the full picture of what's going on before they meet, and discuss about it.

Newton would be at the local Blackwell Tech branch office in Xucphra City, he would be commandeering the manager's office. With his faithful astromech droid M7 by his side, the CEO would await the Chief Astro-Engineer. Checking his chrono, it's happening soon.

Tiamat had a feeling she knew why Newton was reaching out to her when he did. Her daughter had told her about the expedition and despite the awe of her child and the information she had to share, she was somewhat displeased that Theia had even gone. However, it was also when she learned Nye was there also, it had eased up some of her concern about her daughter taking high risk expeditions into the Maw. Even herself as experienced as a pilot and scientist would take such endeavors without thorough research, and not necessarily on a whim like Theia had. Though what was done was done and now to discuss further about what they had found so far.

The woman had hear talk among the astrophysics community about the Stygian Reaches, something clearly as ancient as perhaps the origins of the hypergate. Though it was unclear how this would greatly impact the wider galaxy now that a path had been open within the Maw. She reviewed the report once more before Newton would arrive, letting the details sink in since it was just so unbelievable that this has even happened.

The visit with Newton luckily took her out of the lab, which was a hard thing to do for most people who tried to get Tiamat to attend meetings. For Newton though, he was one of her longest and dearest friends and she happily met him at the Blackwell office where he would be waiting. When she would arrive, an attending droid escorted the woman to the office where she immediately noticed M7 and then nodded to Newton.

"I have to admit, this is probably some of the most fascinating data I have seen in a long while."

"Indeed." he said, with a bright smile, and a nod back at her. He would then stand up momentarily as his guest ha arrived "This is definitely the biggest, most significant event to happen this century. This will have big aftereffects going forward." he said, containing his giggling. "We knew there were other galaxies out there, a whole universe out there. But to travel into another galaxy? And the same vice versa?' He would answer. "Exceptional, truly exceptional." he nodded his head. "Not to mention with some of our physical evidence, this will literally change aspects of history as we knew it." in regards to the Sith, Hutts, and Tionese".

The attending droid that escorted Lyra would then ask if there was any sort of refreshment she would want. His astromech M7 would happily start beeping, he does like her. Newton would gesture for her a seat, there are plenty.

"A whole new galaxy out there. There are many, many unknowns. My company has dispatched probe droids into the Reaches. If we thought our galaxy was vast and full of wonders as it was, then who knows what could be in the new galaxy?"

So now is where Lyra's company comes in, that that is undisputed top-of-the-line in hyperspace/space travel related technology. "So with probe droids starting to survey the new galaxy as we speak, I just have to ask. Hypothetically, how plausible would it be to create starship drives that could hyperspace into another galaxy?"

"And second, how plausible would it be for a Hypergate - perhaps a specialized variant - to connect to the new galaxy?"
Right now, there is only one way into the Reaches. Via the Maw. It's a choke point that could be closed if the connection weakens, something goes wrong, or something else. If other means could be made, that would prove to be very useful.

Tiamat smiled when Newton emphasized the significance of this finding; it was known that other universes existed outside their galaxy. To reach them, even with current hyperspace technology was not possible in an average being's lifespan, let alone to have the necessary supplies and equipment to set an expedition that far to even determine if there were habitable worlds. However, with the Stygian Reaches there were pieces of history that could rewrite everything they have known about the older and long-dead civilizations. This was significant no doubt, and the idea to make technology to match would be daunting given they were already using the Maw as a portal. The energy threshold were off the charts with the astrological object, and it made it unpredictable because...well, it was why Newton was here.

"We would have to create new technology." Tiamat stated, but Newton knew that, and he knew if anyone could do it, it would be herself. "The current hypergates already needed a new power source to even run as they do today. So its not impossible, its just, do we have the materials and time to create such a thing." Tia spoke her thoughts out loud, pulling up holoboard to draw out what she knew already with the Maw. "And we need to find out what type of signal waves the spire had sent out, from what you sent and what Theia told me, there was some voodoo Force stuff with it, which might complicate things if its part of those religions." Though for Tiamat, she understood the complexities of the Force and the dark side, but perhaps she could let someone else do that work to connect science and woo.

Newton was well aware what he was asking for was something of a very tall order to put it lightly. To have a working inter-galactic hypergate, it would be a big undertaking in terms of time, resources, credits, and probably a whole bunch of other things. Newton was exploring the possibilities. If it was impossible, fair.

But she said it may not be impossible. "Blackwell commands vast amounts of credits, can procure resources that are either in our worlds, or we can purchase what is needed. I have no doubt this would be a project of a grand scale. In addition to funding and resources, I can get my company involved in manufacturing parts and providing droid labor to work with you and your experts, I have a shipyard location if needed as an assembly site." M4-78 has fantastic manufacturing capabilities. And between it and Blackwell's fiefdom of planets and systems in the Corporate Sector and elsewhere, they might just have ample material needed. This would still be a big effort though. Time is also a factor too. Although Newton isn't in a rush, he would be relucatant to go 'all-in' on a project that would be a massive time sink, therefore being more of finnical drain the longer the project is in progress. Time is money as they say.

The last part about what she said was a fair point as well. There were Jedi and Sith in the trip into the Linchpin Station and there was force weirdness involved. "Yes, that voodoo stuff does present a challenge." Unfortunately, the Force is one aspect that Newton is out of his depth in. "Any suggestions on this front?" he wondered. "Maybe Nye was able to play nice with some of the Jedi or Sith back there and he could reach out..."

"For certain we need to complete the research first and then we can start looking at costs." she explained, getting them both back on track to focusing on what needed to be completed first.

"My engineers can start looking at how such a signal is operated and begin translating it to where we are in our technology." Tiamat continued; she leaned back her in seat, arms folding as her mind clearing was also putting together ideas to get things moving. She was quiet when he agreed that the Force stuff was a challenge; the woman debated to mention her daughter as a resource. The idea of anymore than just the family knowing of Theia's training with the Jedi left her uncomfortable and didn't need the tabloids chasing herself or her daughter.

"The Jedi are a bunch of good-two-shoes, so he may have more luck with them." Tiamat suggested, her own inner sith nature found that statement odd, "The sith would probably kill him before he was able to report back to you. I hear they are a bit more... volatile? Of the Force religions."

"Right, of course" Newton said after being reminded they need to do the basics first.

Lyra did have a point about going to the Sith being a bad idea. They are a death-murder cult. Although Nye is just a clone - an asset to be used - was really time consuming to get a 'perfect clone'. Newton forgot how many attempts were discarded until he got the one that met his standards. It would be waste if he were killed. "Only just a bit more volatile than the Jedi?" he snickered and joked. It would be nice if the Jedi and Sith would just kill each other off once and for all, but evidently this so-called 'the Force' has decided the galaxy has to continue to suffer their presence. It's not all bad though since the wars they cause are good for the arms business.

Oh well. "Very well then, I will send Nye to make contact with the Jedi." It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Now with that. Newton would lean back in his chair. "Well now, at this stage is there anything else we would need to go over?" As she said, her scientists would be looking into the signal and technology and go from there. Then Nye will make contact with the Jedi.
