Children of Yahweh,
Becoming a Bendu requires the most profound commitment and an astute mind. First and foremost, you must have been born and raised on Kal'Shabbol to even so much as even be considered for acceptance into our sacred halls. We firmly believe that anyone who has experienced life outside of this world has been tainted by a plague of corruption that cannot be rectified. Therefore, if you are not of this world, please cease reading this letter now.
The life of a Bendu is one of sacrifice. Those who show an aptitude for the Force of Others begin their training in life no later than their eighteenth birthday in the Bendu Temple of Light. From the beginning, you will be expected to always keep a strong sense of self-discipline, knowledge, faith and prayer in your life. Emotions such as hatred, anger and fear are expected to be used only at the proper times. Emotions such as kindness, compassion and love are expected to be used all the time. Unlike our Jedi brethren, we do not believe these emotions to be self-destructive, but rather healthy when used properly.
As a Bendu Apprentice, you will be taught the powers of the Force of Others, the intricacies of the Ashla and the Bogan, the history of the galaxy and the philosophies that all Bendu live and die by. You will be taught the art of the sword, though that will come much later in your training. We feel that the more you know about philosophies and powers, the more naturally you will be able to perform with a sword. When you do reach that point, however, you will be required to use great focus in your training. Students practice the rubrics of swordplay against other students with soft blades. Due to the weight of the weapons, you will need heightened awareness to condition your attunement to the Force of Others.
At the end of your training, you will be faced with the challenge of completing the Trial of Wills and the Trial of Fear, a rigorous ordeal that will test you physically and mentally. Then, only then, will you become a Bendu Knight. If you feel you do not meet the requirements or cannot rise to the challenge, turn back now and no one will think any less of you. However, if you are up to the challenge, please provide us with your name and a link to your profile in this thread. You will then be added to the Holy Book of Names. Any questions can be directed to me.
In the arms of Yahweh,
Josiah Rendar
