Barr Wren

You know what? This fracking galaxy is a mess. For forty kessing years have I fought in the name of Mandalore and this so-called Border Alliance. There's just no way I'd choose to follow some fancy-pancy senator on Chandrila and their lobsided armchair philosphies on warfare. Grand Army of the Republic be damned, I'm having none of that. Want to know who I deemed worthy enough to follow? Viszla. Ral and Caedryn. Finest and most promising warriors I've seen all my life. I suppose, if there had been anyone worthy to become a true Mand'alor like old, then it was one of them. Without them, what's a free Mandalore worth?

My clan, Wren, were protectors for centuries and always at the front of every battle. Mandalorian warrior culture is our very identity, our blood, our sustenance. Nothing would stop me from continuing that tradition. Not Mand'alor the Unscarred, too weak to set foot on a battlefield and not this young wave of dormant idiots. Conflict encourages development. War causes progress. We, as a people, as a planet, are stalled in irrelevancy. Weakened and overtaken by bureaucracy. Typical then, that I've spend the last decade training other planet's militia's as an instructor on the former Border Alliance bases on Mandalore. We allowed ourselves to be befuddled. Our patrols barely entered Sith space while we watched from the safety of our bunker how the Jedi took the fight to the Sacred Band. How the Jedi fought and killed our sworn enemies. Mandalorians fighting for the Sith were still Mandalorians, perhaps with more gut than me, seeing as they preserved our most ancient culture in a way that was perhaps more brutal, but definately more pronounced.

Instead I watched how control over the armed forces was taken from us, and given to the Core. Fracking Republic and their power-hungry politicians, putting a lap-dog in power as High Commander instead of a more deserving and distinguished commander hailing from Mandalore. Politicians, kessing bastards.

There was just no way I'd answer to some sleazy fat bastard who never shoved a vibro-knife into another man's ribs and watched as the eyes faded to the distinct glare of death. No kessing way. I resigned my commission, no longer a member of the Mandalorian military. Viszla showed me another way. Their attack on the museum proved that they were serious, and I decided to put on my armor for more than ceremonial usage. I figured to let blasters ruin the plates and swords try to cleave their way into my helmet. Let blood flow, I said, as long as it flows for the good fight. The fight to reclaim Mandalore. Naïeve, I deem it now as soon Ral disappeared again and Caedryn retired in favor of a Kyramud proclaiming himself as Mand'alor. Death Watch, bloody dishonorable terrorists. I'd sooner have the exiled clans on Ziost take my homeworld than to see it fall in Kyramud's hands.

__PERSONALITY

Dissatisfied with Mandalorian government and the slipping away of the dominant warrior culture, Barr has over the years become a grumpy individual. He's a tough act to follow, always having expected the absolute best from his recruits whether they were Mandalorians or lazy Coruscanti. The career warriors that trained under him praise his toughness, but those who fail to meet his high standards often blame him for their failure. As a result, security officers often look at him in disgust, as on Mandalore if you failed to join the military as a warrior, you'd get to join ManSec.

__APPEARANCE

Barr has earned to travel the Mandalorian dominion with his back straight and his head held high. His mannerisms and eyes betray that he is a proud professional warrior to his very Core. His CCT-Armor is teal-colored and sports hold-out blasters in both wristguards, as well as an extentable vibro-knife in the right and a grappling hook in his left.. After facing the Jedi Lord in battle on Onderon, Barr has two prosthetics knee-down to replace the missing shins.

CHARACTERS OF INTEREST

Arkon Rall - former Warlord of the Sacred Band. I will reference him throughout as he's the face of the Mandalorian's former importance within the Sith Brotherhood. Arkon Rall is a PC whose handler went inactive early in the timeline, therefore Arkon will be referenced as if he's still around in case the handler will come back to activity and decides to continue with writing with the PC (in a lower rank).

Ata'ima Genet - former brother of the Sacred Band of Ziost and the head of the Exiled branch of Clan Genet, Ata'ima died in his duty to the Brotherhood. References to him will be done in past tense, though his sons, notably Mek and the new head of the exiled branch living on their Raxus farm will feature in certain stories.

The Sacred Band's War Council - As Sith AFL I canonized this group as the brains behind the possible invasion of Garel and the shift towards attacking Mandalore and putting a Mand'alor on the throne loyal to the Brotherhood. Both failures, and with the new Moff system also irrelevant. I mention it here because this council compromised primarily of Mandalorians from the Exiled branches of Mandalore and Concord Dawn clans and might still be ambitious enough to try and reclaim their old position of importance.

Arduis Wren - Arduis follows a similar mindset on Mandalore and its people as Barr. That alone doesn't make him a character of interest, what does, however, is that they're brothers. They served together in the Mandalorian military and both disagreed with the Republic's legislative power over their people, the weak Mand'alor and the acts of the Kyramud pretender. Arduis also defected to the Sacred Band of Ziost.

RAXUS

Raxus is a lush world at the edge of the Sith dominion. Parts of the planet have been overtaken by agriculture, which is used to feed the hungry mouths of the Sacred Band of Ziost and its affiliates. When the Tion Hegemony broke off from the Sith Brotherhood, Raxus attempted to join suit. However, Raxus was taken quickly back, and was used as a staging point to retake Tion Proper. Since then, the planet has increased in fortification, a bulwark protecting the Sith dominion from the Tion Hegemony and the Republic. Raxus has also served as a training ground to survival training for the Brothers and Sisters of the Sacred Band.

What you read above was the description of Raxus in the Sacred Band Worlds thread of the Sith Holocrons. Pretty neat, right? My thoughts exactly. I have since the start of the sixth timeline altered my personal canon for the planet a little, though, and as its Moff thought it important to include it in a somewhat personal write-up.

In recent times Raxus' lush wilds are retaking the outer agricultural fields as outdated farming technology is unable to keep up. Its fortifications were once a strong impregnable range of fortresses, yet they too suffered from economical and technological hardships after the Corporate Sector abandoned Sith Space. Despite these hardships, Raxus is still surprisingly relevant as a military power. After many of the exiled branches of Mandalorian houses migrated to the lush planet in order to be able to teach and train their children in the Mandalorian ways of old, the new and old generations together have made Raxus what some within the Brotherhood dare call 'New Mandalore'.

With Barr Wren as Moff, the Mandalorians on Raxus mobilized their forces and prepared for an imminent battle that ultimately didn't happen. Instead, with the rise of the Mandalorian Dominion, Moff Wren and many of the formerly exiled Mandalorians left the then Sith Brotherhood to join the forces of Prime Minister Almec.

Holy crap. That was brilliance. I like "Characters of interest" bit you added. He seems like a very cynical, outspoken, madly entertaining individual. I'll be looking forward to seeing him in action :D
