Personality: Bardan Kryze can be summed up in two words: Smart Ass. Despite being a former Jedi Knight the Mandalorian enjoys being snarky, offering a sarcastic comment or wise crack when the situation calls for it; which is almost always. He's a very laid back person, who enjoys a good drink and a fine look woman. This has led to several casual encounters and one night stands he often brings up in anecdotes to his friends and his companions. Having learned how to woo and womanize from his master, a Twi'lek, Kex often has a flirtatious or suggestive comment up his sleeve for when he's in the company of the opposite sex. After being rescued Bardan has become quite indebted to his rescuer, Ral Vizsla, and the two became a close team as he learned about his Mandalorian heritage. Now, Bardan is a rarity, a Force Sensitive Mandalorian who uses his connection to the Force to help his friends and help bring his newfound culture up from the slum it had fallen into.

Biography: Born on the Mid Rim world of Antar, Bardan Kex was born to Sera Kex, a young Mandalorian woman, who in truth was Sera Kryze, youngest daughter of a prominent House Kryze noble who had grown bored with the structured life of the Warrior Nobility and has set out for adventure. Her lover been a man named Crix Maldor, a Jedi Knight originally from Corellia, who after years of adventuring with Sera under the pretext of an investigation had been called back to the Order before the young woman had discovered her pregnancy. Fearing her families response, the young woman elected not to return home to Mandalore, adopting the false last name. The young mother sought out an old friend, a Toydarian by the name of Zorik, who helped set her up in an apartment above his dinner and found her work with a Planetary Security firm. The first three years of Bardan's life were relatively uneventful for the young family, aside from one or two early clues to the child's force sensitivity. At the eve of his fourth year tragedy stuck the young family, as Sera was murdered in a gang retaliation against the Antarian Rangers, whom she had come to be working with. After the discovery of the fact Zorik reached out through the Antarian Rangers for Crix who, along with Myles Jarrus, came to retrieve the boy for training.

Growing up in the temple, Kex was eventually taken on by a Jedi Knight who was known to be a bit of a maverick, as his father had chosen to distance himself from his son's training. She was a purple-skinned Twi'lek named Laitha who was in her early twenties. Instead of meditation and contemplation, Laitha took the young Kex out into the field, showing him how to fight and solve issues without a lightsaber. When he was old enough she also taught him how to speak to women, and how to use his own charm and good looks to become a bit of a lady killer. The older he got the better he became at smooth talking.

Finally, Bardan was given Knighthood by his master at the age of nineteen when she felt that she had taught him everything she could. He was an able knight, if not the strongest or adept in the many fields of study. After a little while he was finally given a Padawan, a female Zeltron who was as difficult as he was as Padawan which reminded many of his former master. The young Jedi Knight did his best to give the girl the proper training, unfortunately, when he was twenty-three, while on mission they were attacked and captured by the Sith. After many days of agonizing torture, Bardan's Padawan died, an event which both changed and traumatized him as he listened to her dying screams. He himself lost an eye to his captors before a Mandalorian by the name of Ral Vizsla found him following up on a lead he had been looking into regarding Sith. Through a harrowing struggle both managed to escape, worse for wear, but alive.

Feeling betrayed at what he viewed as being left to die at the hands of the Sith, and for sticking a Padawan with him when he believed he was not ready for such a duty, Bardan chose not to go back to the Jedi, but to join Ral in his travels. Over the next six years the pair shared in many adventures, and it did not take long at all before Ral realized the truth of Bardan's mother's heritage. Giving Kex a crash course in Mandalorian culture and history, they eventually made Bardan his own set of armor. Eventually, Ral decided to return to Mandalore to start a revolution which would see a revival of their culture and the old ways, and he asked Bardan to join him. An offer, Bardan accepted and in recognition of the action finally adopted the Kryze name of his mother.

There were initial complications with the Rebellion, namely it failing to take off, which lead to the subsequent foundation of a Merc Company with Ral's cousin and a number of Comrades. During this time Bardan would manage to reconnect with the family his mother had long ago abandoned in search of adventure, encountering bounty hunter Talia Al'Saif who he discovered to be his cousin, Moira Kryze. He would also find himself entangled with two members of the Jedi order, an encounter that would see him pulled into an event that would ultimately lead him away from his people. The two Jedi, along with a number of their Jedi friends ended up calling on his assistance in an attack on the Jedi Temple at Tython. His initial part in the attack, done along side the only other non-Jedi of the group, ended up centered at the Temple's cafeteria. A brief struggle errupted as they went about planting their charges, which left two (he had assumed two only one was confirmed) Jedi Knights dead in their wake. He never actually discovered how many others were lost in the bombing it's self. After this act the man began questioning himself, not over the killing as he'd done that numerous times prior, but how quickly he'd found himself drawn into to the dark fervor of the former Jedi.

The Attack on Tython along with some actions undertaken with the Mercenaries lead to something of a crisis with Bardan as he tried to piece together who he was in his mind. Then shortly after Ral had disappeared and was presumed by a number of his fellow Mandalorians to be dead. Then to top it off one of their number had wrested control of the Chosen, kicking out the old leadership and then setting them on a sort of fanatical path. It proved to become more than Bardan was willing to handle and so with out a word he set out, departing for what could be considered frontier worlds. Worlds with little in the way of law, and little in regards to concern for the greater galaxy.

It's upon those worlds at the edge of civilization he'd spent the past five years, for the most part barely acknowledging the changing of the Galaxy beyond what would filter in. Of particular interest was the collapse of the Republic and the rise of the Sith Empire, though only some fallout from those events had seemed to spill over, mostly an influx of people wanting to get away, and Soldiers with out a cause. This caused no small shortage of work for Bardan who'd again taken up bounty hunting and Mercenary work, the only kind of work he'd discovered himself to be cut out for as he found himself caught up in many conflicts and skirmishes to small scale to be noticed by the Galaxy at large, or sometimes even what ever planetary government some of these worlds possessed. His foray into the Outter Rim would not be only in the company of fellow lowlifes and Mercs, a chance encounter at the start of a bounty hunt three years ago had introduced him to the Jedi Knight Maja Fir. After explaining her interest in his target, Bardan had quickly agreed to work with the woman and the pair rather swiftly brought the criminal to justice. Shortly after the hunt the pair, realizing a mutual attraction, entered into a relationship. Before he knew it Bardan had found that he'd fallen in love with the woman, a first for him. The couple would be together for nearly two and a half years before the past struck back, Tython reared its ugly head as he'd decided to come clean about his part in the incident. It didn't go well and once again Bardan found himself alone.

Then near six months later the unexpected happened, he'd learned Ral was alive and not just alive but Mand'alor, he couldn't believe it. The man who'd told him was Kalan Ordo, Duke of the House Ordo who he'd encountered in a bar. Shortly after he'd asked to return to Mandalore with Kalan, and along the way accepted an offer from the man to join his resurgent Death Watch in exchange.
