There was a shift of power in the Kibilini sector. Several smaller criminal organisations had decided to group up and try to control the flow of crime in several systems. However the attempt did not last long. Due to the greed and mistrust often rife in the criminal underground, the organisations eventually tried to take sole control of the others and a bitter criminal civil war erupted. The struggle was fierce but discreet as such things tend to be but as no one faction gained obvious traction all of the smaller parties fled, spread and capitalised on the chaos. This caused a sudden increase in criminal traffic on Socorro. In particular there had been a marked rise of Doonium heists as wayward marauders and bandits were ripping off whole shipments at a time. The local syndicates on Socorro had stayed neutral in the attempted take over and subsequent crime war. Now that the dregs and deserters were showing up in their territory they had decided to brutally stamp them out. A local bounty was placed on the heads of anyone operating Doonium dreg gangs, as they came to be known. It was an alive or dead open contract on anyone caught raiding Doonium without official syndicate clearance. Suffice to say, it brought a fair few low level hunters to Socorro looking for easy scores or just a simple thrill. Many of them would wind there way across the Arid surface and through the biting Desert winds to the city of Cjaalysce'l.

Cjaalysce'l was a walled ring at the centre of a valley of dust storms. At the peak of the season the winds were so fierce that the city needed massive Doonium-alloy walls to protect the city from destruction. Despite this it was the second largest city on Socorro after the capital Vakeyya and as such was home to both rampant commerce and crime. It was here that Hirojani Andro now found herself.

She had spent the better part of the day on her speeder bike. She'd been enjoying the sudden shifts in the wind at flight altitudes. It was almost enough fun to distract her from her mission here on Socorro. She was here to hunt. It was all too infrequent to find open bounties where you could kill the target. Hiro's mother had trained her as a hitman but she had been lucky enough to work for a crime family, where slights got personal and vendettas turn lethal. As a freelancer people always wanted someone caught, caught to retrieve stolen goods, caught to stand trial. Always alive only. So Hiro would always jump on the chance to keep her skills sharp with entry level hits when she could find them and from the sounds of things it was pretty open season out here. When she was done with the aerials she touched down outside Cjaalysce'l and bartered her way through the gates. The entry fee was higher than she'd have liked but she imagined that the crime wave was taking a toll and those with the opportunity were going to take advantage. From there she rode though the city at a steady pace. The streets were close in, every inch of space used as efficiently as possible to avoid brining up the idea of expanding the walls. It took Hiro an hour or two before she felt like she was starting to find the right part of the city. The edges of the city were all too seedy to acquire reliable info and the main centre was far too gentrified to have the right kinds of establishments. As Sokor began to set over the city and the shadow of the walls spread inky-fingered through the streets Hiro found her self parked up outside a place that looked just right for her purposes. Dancers, liquor licence and an adjacent hotel. The kind of place where you could buy nearly everything, for the right price and right conversation. Hiro locked up her bike and walked in.
