Dull senses Excerpt · Known applications Dull senses was the name given to an incapacitating Force ability commonly used by members of the Jedi Order to capture rather than kill their opponents. It was also popular among dark side Force-users as well. _ ▵Known applications Dull senses was an ability used to slow down the target's body functions until they effectively were rendered unconscious. This ability did nothing to harm the target, making it popular among members of the Jedi Order. At the most basic level, this Force power made its target suddenly drowsy. If the target provided resistance or broke the focus of the caster, this effect was only temporary. However, prolonged use of the technique would begin to make their eyelids heavy and, eventually, would render them unconscious, allowing the target to be successfully captured (if that was the intent of the caster). Higher level Force-users needed far less time and focus to use the ability's full effects. The weakness of the technique lay in its range. The further the caster is from their target, the more time they need for it to fully take effect. However, this could also act as the technique's greatest strength, as, at close range, the technique is far stronger and takes effect more quickly. This closer range, though, means that the target would need to have their movement restricted to be cast effectively, as being at such a close range could put the caster in harm's way. To effectively counter the technique, a sufficiently powerful Force user might be able to reverse it: increasing their heart-rate and cognitive resistance to prevent themselves from falling completely unconscious. ▵Intent To expand the number of light side Force powers on the site.
