DESCRIPTION​

The ZU-9 Gorocco heavy repulsortank is an armored ground combat vehicle manufactured by Mobquet Swoops & Speeders. One of the company's more popular military products, the ZU-9 is named for a tenacious, ape-like predator from the planet Koboh, it is the heaviest such vehicle in Mobquet's catalog, and is often paired with their lighter ZU-5 light repulsortank. Armored to resist anything up to medium cannon fire, the ZU-9 often acts as the spearhead of an assault on fortified enemy positions, and can also be used to repel massed infantry and light vehicle attacks using its array of independently targeting turrets.

The Gorocco is much larger than its lighter counterpart, being some 18 meters in length. Operated by a crew of 7, including 5 gunners, a driver and a commander, the vehicle is equipped with an array of turrets, including two forward-mounted dual light laser turrets, a pair of side-mounted quad light laser turrets, and a centrally mounted single heavy laser turret. With these, the Gorocco can fire in nearly all directions at once; each turret is equipped with a dedicated gunner and targeting computer, allowing all turrets to pick and track targets independently. Although more than capable of destroying enemy vehicles and bunkers, the type excels against infantry, with basically no safe approaches for anti-tank specialists except possibly from the rears, which is not as heavily armored and not directly covered by any turrets.

In general, the ZU-9 Gorocco has been a success for Mobquet, and is typically sold to planetary defense forces.
