Namadaii
Ancient Sith Colisseum
1400 local time

The clashing voices of the roaring crowds welcomed him as the elevator slowly climbed up toward the floor of the arena. Cinere was in darkness, his armor blending in with the shadows, his hands at his sides, idle. He was doing a breathing exercise, getting the adrenaline pumping, though that clearly was not necessary as he reached the colisseum and was thrust suddenly in front of tens of thousands. A holo drone zoomed around him, taking him in.

"And now, on one side of our arena--Sith Champion Cinere Autem of Dathomir!"

The audience cheered for the Sith, whooping and whistling and objects thrown into the arena. He just nodded, more concentrated on getting into the right state of mind. The darkness around him flowed freely, emboldening his confidence as he waited for the arrival of his opponent. It was anyone's guess, and he had not been able to watch the other matches--as no one had been allowed to--instead opting to train for the hours leading up to the fight.

Cinere was ready to prove himself to the Order today, regardless of his opponent.

Adjusting his set of Matukai gloves, an imposing figure stepped on the other side of the arena, white mane flowing freely as the glowing eye tattoos on his face looked forward, a smile on his face as he stopped on his side of the arena, putting a hand on his shirtless shoulder as he cracked his neck while the crowd reacted...He didn't like to admit it, but he did missing fighting in arenas, specially now that he could do it out of his free will...and against opponents that could give him a run for his money for once.

Of course, he wasn't here just for fun, while he would certainly try to enjoy himself, there were multiple reasons as to why he joined...The first reason, of course, was gaining experience against lightsaber wielding force users, since they had allied themselves to the sith, that meant he would eventually have to fight jedi...And probably sith once they eventually try to screw the syndicates over, it was just a matter of time, really.

But he also thought it would be a huge flex to have a Zaa Fenn win a sith tournament, a good way to add some more respect to their name, Gareth knew Preef would certainly love it...Even though he didn't respond at his last message holo-message in which he asked him to watch closely...But eh, Preef would probably watch the fight eventually, it didn't really worry him, the Rodian was probably busy leading the gang like usual.

"On the other side of the arena--Gareth Gin, the White Lion of the Zaa Fenn!" The audience cheered for the Matukai...Even though there was some booing thrown in there as well, but that didn't matter to him...What mattered right now was fighting the guy in front of him and winning, the White Lion of the Zaa Fenn would do his best.

The White Lion of Zaa Fenn??

An absolute unit of a creature stepped onto the arena, allegedly a Matukai but more closely resembling an ancient mountain troll. Cinere wondered how they had let this seemingly non-sentient beast sign up then resigned it to just being an attempt to liven things up. Cin understood.

But then the creature's name was announced and he realized that it was a man. An absolute devil, but a man. His blood pressure dropped and rose back up in a brief moment as he watched the introduction of his opponent.

Oh, this would be fun. Cinere had spent the past few months rigorously training for just this sort of thing. From underground brawls on Nar Shaddaa, to training sessions by himself or artifact hunting, he had thrown himself into as much conflict and combat as possible and absorbed every piece of information like a sponge. The man may have a size advantage, but Cinere had knowledge, agility, and the Force, both from close and from afar.

He stepped forward until he was about 20 meters away and then stopped, raising his fists into a guard.

"FIGHT!" the announcer roared as an ancient Sith gong was rung.

And as soon as the gong was rung and the announcer said the word, Gareth Gin sprinted forward, a smile on his face as the glowing eyes pierced the sith with a stare that one wouldn't expect from a guy with fake eyes, it would not take much for Gareth Gin to close the distance between him and his opponent

Of course, he wasn't just charging in recklessly, as he got closer to his opponent, Gareth started calling upon the force himself, but while the other sith could sense that happening, it would never be released in the form of an attack...at least not from so far away, the Miralukan was just preemptively calling upon the force to defend himself against whatever Cinere would try to pull off while he was closing that gap, making sure his sprinting would not be interrupted too much and that he would be in a good position to strike him head on in close quarters combat.

So, if he managed to reach Cinere, Gareth would have his arms raised at his chest's height, using a low stance as he crouched to make himself a smaller target and be able to block better all around with his Matukai gloves, ready to play...Some people called it the crouching tiger, hidden Krayt Dragon technique...but that kind of people were nerds that didn't have a clue about what they were talking about.

It was a tense few moments as the gong was rung. One would have expected for both fighters to get their bearings when the fight begins, but the Matukai had other ideas. The man charged in, gathering Force to himself like some kamikaze bomber flying at him.

But Cinere didn't fall into the man's dangerous game. Rather than try his chances close range, the Sith elected to step backwards from the first moments the man started to move, echoing his charge. His steps were quick and nimble, the SIth tapping into the Force simply, a 360 view around him ensuring he won't trip over anything.

If he didn't attack, he'd let the Matukai keep running until they reached the wall of the arena, and then he'd pivot and begin running along the other side.

The Miralukan did, indeed, not attack from range and just kept running after his opponent, who seemed very intent in running the opposite way...Gareth doubted the man was a coward that didn't wish to engage him in a fight because...Well, he joined a bloody sith tournament, that just didn't make sense

The reason as to why he wouldn't come towards him could be two: Either the man was buying time for something...Or he was getting himself in a better position...perhaps getting to the wall would give him an edge somehow? The Miralukan would rather not play into his enemy's hands, which meant he had to play into his own strength.

Gareth managed to close off a bit of distance between the two of them at the start, before the other man reacted and started running in the opposite way at enough speed to not be caught up by the Miralukan Gareth would be around ten meters away from him...And so, he redirected the force into a great burst of speed forward instead, the Miralukan would be almost on top of the sith in the blink of an eye before they got close to the wall, as physical augmentation with the force was his forte.

While the other man would be able to turn around before the former Matukai managed to land a punch on him, chances are he wouldn't be able to catch him in the middle of his speed burst, by the time the Matukai got too close to him he would be ready to defend against any lightsaber force shenanigans the sith would be able to pull off, it was time to get close and personal.

Oh, so he wanted to play speed? Cinere liked to play speed.

The Sith had received formal Sith training, and had been learning to use the Force for years and making use of all the teachings of the Sith. He doubted the Matukai had received that much training despite his innate skill at physical abilities. So rather than stoop to his opponent's level and just charge in like a barbarian trying to punch things, he took a more refined approach. He went forward.

But incredibly faster. His feet pumped into the floor of the colosseum, leaving craters where he stepped, and kicking dust up in a direct line. He ran right past the Matukai, lightsaber ignited in his left hand, and they passed each other like two comets. In the brief moment they passed each other, Cinere would be ducked as low as he could get, the Matukai on his left side but out of melee range. He tried to get a hit in, a simple slash that would cut the man's feet off at the shins but he didn't stick around to see if it stuck or how the man managed to dodge it mid-charge. Trying to punch him in that short moment would be difficult, but Cinere's lightsaber was raised to parry blows regardless.

And another brief moment later, he would be 20 meters away from the Matukai and thus come to a tentative stop.

Well, Gareth had to admit, he had been a little bit too careless.

He didn't expect the sith to come towards him after running away like a scaredy cat at first, but he had to admit, Cinere actually had some cojones, and could've probably ended Gareth right there and then if not for two things:

First off, he had been actively been running backwards before, using the force ever so slightly to keep the distance between them, in order to come at him like he did, in order to charge at Gareth like that, he had to stop his momentum and change it, even if a trained force sensitive would take almost no time to do so, another force sensitive would be able to notice and be able to react better at the sudden change of direction.

The second thing was, of course, the fact that Gareth was maintaining a pretty low fighting stance for a reason, he crouched so much because he understood that his legs were vulnerable when his arms were the only stuff able to block things such as lightsabers.

And as such, when the sith bolted towards him and attacked his left side, Gareth was more or less ready and in a good enough stance to have his left arm block the simple slash, tilting his body ever so slightly towards the man as he could while going as such speeds just so he could block the hit...Obviously not able to retaliate with another punch of his own at that moment.

The clash between the gauntlet and the lightsaber at such speeds would, however, mean that, just like in a jousting match, both warriors would most likely lose footing by the impact, tumbling and barely keeping their footing as they were done with that short boost of speed provided by the force, Gareth would turn back towards at the sith as soon as he could, concentrating once more, the force and the dark side both coursing through him as he felt a mix of anger and excitement, a smile on his face as he let out a small chuckle
"Hah! back to the start...let's try again!" And so Gareth started running towards the sith once more, ready for round two.

Like two jousting warriors, they rebounded off each other like clashing meteors. Cinere found himself running and sliding across the dusty floor for a good distance before skidding to a stop. The crowd roared the loudest it has so far, objects thrown into the outer edges of the arena, ranging from Sith knives to broken blasters and discarded drinks. The Imperial audience was riled up now.

The Matukai spared no moment to recollect or plan. He was right back at it again, charging toward Cinere. The Sith was already growing tired of this barbaric fighting, but he remained silent. Instead, he gathered the Force to himself, preparing himself for the barreling opponent to arrive. He didn't run forward. Instead, he stayed put. As the Matukai reached him, he stepped to the side and then reached out with both arms, grasping for his opponent's leg. If successful, he would cause the Miralukan to soar through the air without legs to land on, causing him to crash like a freighter into a moon.

Of course, Gareth was a very direct person, charging into action and fighting head on was what he liked, what loved...But he wasn't as dumb or reckless as he looked, he acted that way because he knew his strengths. Cinere was literally pulling his leg, but if he thought he could just step to the side, trip him and then stab him like if he was some kind of bull, then he was in for a surprise.

Gareth would let the man pull his leg, he could have used his focus to try to defend himself against that...But instead Cinere would be at the receiving end of a force blast, his leg pulling trick leaving him vulnerable as the blast would hit him square in the chest. Gareth was all power and no range, the force blast would only prove effective because he got close enough...Of course, it wouldn't be something that would end the match, seeing how Gareth didn't concentrate or spend his time on it for that long, but Cinere would certainly feel it as it knocked the wind out of him for a few seconds and launched him backwards a few feet.

However, Gareth would not end falling to the ground as badly as the sith probably thought, the Matukai were one of the best acrobats in the galaxy, their rigorous physical training allowing them to do pretty incredible tricks without even the direct aid of the force, so Gareth would roll over his shoulder as he fell down, going with the momentum to reduce considerably the impact of the fall, he landed as well as anyone could've in his same situation and got up almost immediately using a bit of the momentum to propel himself up, looking in the direction of the sith who would either be on the ground or also getting up from a fall once again before quickly approaching him...Not as fast as before because of the short distance between them, he wanted to control his movement a little more so the sith couldn't just get out of his way that easily.

Cinere was not playing the long game here, and he knew that when he was Force blasted, it was time to go. He had tripped the Matukai, which was enough for him.

The Sith welcomed the blast, but did not leave without taking something with him. As he and the Matukai broke contact, he reached out and snagged his hand on the man's robe--the one around his waist covering him. As Cinere fell on his ass and his opponent rolled away, the Miralukan would find himself feeling a breeze in his nether regions as he stood. The cloth remained in Cinere's hands as he raised himself back on his feet as well.

The lightsaber found his palm again, but this time another came. He was dual wielding, and as the blades ignited, the crowd gasped. One of the lightsabers was blue. It had been taken off a Jedi. Cheering followed, and Cinere simply stood, waiting for the inevitable next charge--and how the man would fight naked.

Cinere turned the mood for the fight in a radical way as he took the robe covering his waist...And also accidentally tore off the man's underwear because of the speed and the acrobatics...Gareth would indeed be naked in front of cameras that would show him in all his glory for all the galaxy to see.

"Could've bought me dinner dinner first, y'know?" The Matukai jested as he didn't seem to really care, a combination of the fact that he was five syndicates scum and a person blind in the traditional sense meaning that his sense of embarrassment when it came to nudity, not like he was ashamed of anything under that robe, really. The Matukai just wondered if the sith wanted to keep this gladiatorial fight pg and if they would actually censor him if that was the case. Regardless, Cinere wouldn't have much of a rest before he found himself being approached by a big naked man that wanted to give him some kind of fisting.

Once he got into range, Gareth would start with something simple, a quick but powerful right jab to the jaw of the sith with his right hand, his feet nimble, his stance still very low and the other hand ready to block any attack that came from his left side, all while making sure to keep alert from any funny tricks or force shenanigans.

Cinere cast aside the robe the moment he found himself in its possession, a laugh bubbling up in his chest that he fought back. The man pranced away, and the crowd roared in laughter as he found himself naked on the floor of the colosseum. If the Matukai was embarrassed, he certainly didn't show it but Cinere doubted a blind man cared much for what others could see. He barely heard the guy talk over the noise of the crowd, but this time the Champion allowed himself a chuckle.

"I had to make sure it was a worthwhile investment first!" he shot back. He liked his opponent--the man had a sense of humor. The fight was definitely more fun than he'd expected from a Sith tournament.

The Matukai approached again, this time at a more sensible speed, and Cinere did not falter as he blocked the blow with his lightsaber, turning it into a parry as the fist connected with his blade. A second hilt flew to his left hand and another lightsaber ignited. A gasp fell over the crowd as they saw it was not red--no, the Champion was wielding a Jedi's lightsaber. The implication as to how he had gotten it was clear, and he secretly basked in pride as he heard the reactions.

With his right blade, he jabbed at the Matukai's chest intending to impale him through the sternum. Anticipating a block--should it happen--he was planning on slashing the man's arm with his left blade, cutting it off at the elbow as he moved to block his jab. He wasn't sure whether the opponent would fall into his trap, so he remained vigilant and ready to block regardless, Force gathered within himself.

Gareth didn't really know what Cinere was planning in case he tried to block the stab, but thankfully he didn't really try and do it regardless, mostly because he knew that trying to block something that was not a sweeping motion could be complicated. Instead, the Matukai took the chance the parry of his own attack gave to him and took a hold of the arm that would try to stab him as the blade hit his forearm but gave breathing room for him to reach with his hand. Cinere would find it difficult to move the lightsaber to take a jab at the Matukai as Gareth used his raw strength to pull that same arm away to avoid danger.

Meanwhile, the arm that was not parried would do something else, a small sweeping motion that would call upon the force to push Cinere's free arm away, leaving him open for his next attack as Gareth's right knee flew towards the sith's stomach (which also meant he would probably inspect Gareth even more closely), all while he stomped Cinere's right foot with the other one to not allow the sith to back away from that, he was a fallen Matukai, he didn't mind playing a bit dirty...By the time Cinere would have the opportunity to attack with the arm that was pushed away using the force, Gareth would be back to his original position, all of this done so he wouldn't be too vulnerable while kneeing an opponent, after all.

Cinere didn't waste any time as the man attempted to mount a very diverse offensive. The moment the Matukai grabbed his forearm, he already swung into motion. He pressed the button on his lightsaber by his finger, and the lightsaber doubled in size.

The Force converged in his left hand, and he extended his fingertips as a burst of lightning erupted from his fingers and toward the Matukai's waist as the man readied the knee-kick. If things went according to plan and his opponent did not ditch the attack, that meant that the lightning would enter his body through his knee, halting the attack and sending waves of white-hot pain into the man's body while his defenses were low. Unlike the Miralukan, Cinere was not using the Force for much--just one attack. He was also not doing many things with his body--unlike the man, who was performing a whole bunch of different actions at once and had been running around the arena since the beginning of the fight.

Should the lightning not hit, that would not be a problem for the Sith, because one flick of the wrist--even if his hand was pushed away--would cut the Matukai's leg off at the knee as it came toward him, due to the blade's length.

Of course, it was true that Gareth was doing a lot of things, but most of them were relatively small, easy to do things for someone trained, stomping on someone's foot being just a small measure to make sure his knee would land and the knee itself would be a fast attack, the most straining thing he would do would be the push aimed towards the arm that started to gather energy for a force lightning attack.

Just like the sith could flick his wrist to get the lightsaber in the way, Gareth could twist the man's arm as he was pulling it away to force the lightsaber into a safe position, making sure that, at the very least, his knee wouldn't be harmed by that weapon, it was something that he had already taken into account beforehand, even if the lightsaber doubling in size did catch him a little by surprise.

What he didn't take into account, however, was lightning suddenly coming his way, and he would certainly feel that attack hit him...However, some things had to be taken into account, the sith had to concentrate and release that lightning in the time Gareth threw the knee, taking into account that he would need to aim it once again since his arm was pushed away, combined by the fact that he wouldn't be able to use the force as proficiently as usual with a lightsaber on that hand, the lightning wouldn't be at its strongest and the knee would be almost hitting the man's chest by the time it reached him. It would get a scream of pain from the Miralukan as it hit him, of course, but Cinere would probably let out a scream of his own as a well thrown knee hit his chest regardless, while weakened by the lightning right before it landed, the area that was hit by the knee had also been hit by a force blast not long ago and so Cinere would really feel it one way or the other.

Of course, a knee hitting with that force would knock Cinere backwards and having his foot stomped would mean he would be falling on his back, Gareth just quickly went back to a normal battle position without letting go of the one arm and before Cinere had the opportunity to swing while he was wide open thanks to the force push from before...He was hurt and tired, but so was his opponent, and now he had the position advantage.

In the Matukai's flurry, he did not stop to consider that others had cooler heads. Cinere was not overexerted by anything and thus had the time to concentrate on the lightning before channeling it, so it's potency and accuracy were top notch. His opponent managed to get the knee kick in, but the lightning had hit and that was mattered. Cinere only increased its power as the knee knick came closer and hit. He channeled the pain into his lightning, gritting his teeth, the slashes of electricity only growing more intense.

He fell backwards and stopped zapping at the Matukai for a brief second, though his defenses were now down. The previous hit had been enough to daze for a brief moment, a blast like a lightning bolt. He had felt the knee kick and knew for sure he'd feel it later, but now adrenaline and the Force were flowing through his body and it was hard to feel much of anything. It had given him pause, but that was only followed by a burst of lightning even stronger, one coming from a trained Force user.

His display of lightning would stun any opponent in a short period of time due to its intensity--if unsuccessful, he would feel very tired, but success was without a doubt his. It was clear they were in the final moments of the fight.

The Miralukan was many things, strong in the force, strong when it came to a fight, experienced in dealing with other Matukai and many gunslingers, thugs and warriors...But he never fought a sith in the past, and dealing with sudden lightning was not something he had been trained for.

The lightning made Gareth let out an audible roar of pain, letting go of Cinere's arm as the man was propelled backwards by the kick, unintentionally letting go of the grip but also creating some distance between them, with one knee now on the ground, the Miralukan was a bit dazed, hurt and tired, but the time that the knee hit gave him before the lightning continued was something he could make use of, after all, even though Cinere's lightning was at his strongest, it just hit him for a very, very short moment, enough to give him the edge, but not enough to keep the lightning going afterwards without some resistance coming from the former matukai.

Unfortunately, Gareth's Matukai training gave him many advantages over jedi and sith training, but using force barriers to defend themselves against lightning was not one of them. There was no way Gareth would be able to set up a barrier that would withstand that lightning in time after just being hit by a burst of it...However, there was something he could do.

Force enchancement, it was what the Matukai had perfected, what he had been taught since he was little, if he needed to be faster, the force would make him faster, if he needed to break a neck, the force would give him that extra boost...And if he needed to tank a hit from force lightning, there was one way he could do it, and there was only one way .

Trusting his pain and his energy to the force, Gareth got up with shaky legs as the white light from where his eyes should be stared at the sith, arms open as he waited for the attack "BRING. IT. ON!" And the lightning hit just as he said those words, the White Lion of Zaa Fenn screamed in pain as the burst of lightning hit him once more, the arena witnessing how the man was still up for a few seconds after that...but then he got on one knee once more, breathing heavily.

Enchancing his durability, Gareth was still conscious after the lightning...But it took a toll on him, even for someone that specialized into using the force in such a manner, the energy and concentration required to use it to tank lightning like that made an already exhausted Gareth a lot more tired...He couldn't fully get up, he wanted to keep the battle going, but he didn't have the energy for it, at least not right now.

"Heh...I fell in the eyes of my people so long ago...Yet I don't really tap into the dark side as much as I could...This serves me right, I should've tried to get my hands to let out cool lightning, GAHAHA- *cough, cough*" The Matukai tried to get up...and failed, he knew he wasn't going to win, not like this "...I oughta learn a few of these tricks...this has been enlightening...If you're gonna knock me out do me a favor and throw my waist wrap over me once you're done, will ya? The galaxy doesn't need to know just how excitin' a good fight is for me...Or don't, I don't mind flauntin'!"

Electricity burst from his fingertips as the man stumbled, and Cinere ditched the lightsabers, instead focusing all of his attention toward the lightning. His eyes flared orange, the air turning static and cold around them. He felt a million emotions course through him at once, then exit as lightning, the dark side empowering him.

He stopped after the man collapsed, and the Matukai lay in a heap when he spoke. Cinere let him finish, then moved toward him, ready to deliver the coup de grace. He didn't want to, but it had to be done. His opponent had fought well, but to finalize the fight he needed to knock him out.

But he stopped in his tracks. The Matukai had passed out, a hulking figure covered by soot--by ash and cooked hairs, skin covered in ash. There was a blackened crater around him.

The crowd roared. The holonet drones came in closer. Cinere raised his arms in the air.

"AND OUR WINNER IIIIISSS - CINERE AUTEM, SITH CHAMPION!"

Cheering erupted, objects thrown into the ring again. Cinere roared along with the crowd as medical teams burst in and cameracrews. The Miralukan was carried away, and Cinere was called over for a post-match interview.
