DESCRIPTION​

The YT-3000 Medium Freighter is a much newer model in the popular YT series of freighters. Built at a massive 70 meter length, it easily could swallow up other vessels in the YT series. It has been armed with two twin medium laser cannon turrets, two fore mounted medium laser cannons, one concussion missile launcher, and two tractor beams (though they are designed for lifting cargo, they can be used for self defence). They not only have the standard YT-series arch engines, but also four additional boosters on the sides of the craft for further power.

The craft was initially designed a few years before the rise of the First Order as CEC began to see the need for larger and more heavily armed freighters. As many companies around this time had to deal with pirates, raiders, and now the First Order harassing their convoys, the initial sales of this ship were rather solid. This has kept on going throughout the life of the line, though most of the buyers now aren't large companies. Bounty Hunters, Pirates, and any other scum of the galaxy who wants a strong and stable ship buy these up. Much like other YT-series ships, this craft is very easy to modify. This gives the user ample opportunity to make this craft their own, though almost always the first upgrade to this ship is an even beefier drive system. Even beyond the possible ways to unofficially modify them, the YT-3000 has a total of seven hard points: with three on the dorsal face and four on the ventral face.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. The YT-3000 is just a standard medium freighter, but it is built with serious armaments mostly for self defence. Though the line itself is known for being able to be heavily modified, many legal forces most likely will not take to much note of these craft due to their more defensive nature. Though, if it is quite obviously modified, it may be given a second look over.

To introduce a widely avalible medium freighter and to add a new instilation in the YT line.

As for weapons, you generally don't find blaster turrets on anything besides atmospheric vehicles. Blasters wouldn't be effective armament for something this size. Those look to met like dual medium laser turrets. Also, I'm not sure why a ship like this would bother with fixed cannons or concussion missiles, at least not in its stock form. If you want something like the Millennium Falcon, which has been armed to the teeth, that's the sort of thing modifications are for.

Finally, you don't have to list the sensors in equipment, all ships are assumed to have those.
