Ines sighed. The negotiations had been going on for hours and they still didn't seem to be going anywhere. Leaning forth over the table, she repeated "But sir, I really can't go any higher. I was just here to sign off on the deal that you had already agreed on with Mother" she said sincerely with both eyebrows pinched together as she truly didn't understand what had changed. The man spouted out another empty argument and an excuse for good measure causing the young noble to lean back in her seat with her hands clasped over her stomach. Shrugging, she raised her hands slightly "I'm sorry, I don't know what to say. I thought we had a deal" she said with a resigned voice. While somewhat frustrating, anger wasn't even on the radar.

Jumping to life in her seat, Ines was a little startled as the man slammed his fist into the table and stood up, casting a large shadow over her as his back faced the window. "My men have been fighting off pirates, captured stolen goods and then some! Do you truly expect me to agree to this?" he asked, putting both hands on the table between them and leaning in. Ines' eyes darted from place to place as her heart rate shot through the roof. Swallowing hard, she mustered a "I'm sorry" as she said.

The men she had seen walking in certainly seemed tough and the office they were in right now, on the highest floors of their building in Coronet City certainly looked impressive. Still, she knew that her bargaining space was extremely limited seeing as there wasn't supposed to be any bargaining at all. Mustering a slight smile, Ines spoke timidly "Perhaps we could add something as a show of good will? I could help run your books for the month and build relationships with your company, what do you say about that?" While the proposal might have been naive, she had confidence in her skills in regards to running his books. If he said no now, there was very little more she could do.

This was certainly an odd job to say the least. The fact that this was the best way to get to his target was just sad. But a job is a job...and with how much money Arden had riding on this, he wasn't going to let this pass.

He checked his gear. His twin WESTAR-34's were loaded and ready. His leather jacket was zipped up with the furry collar folded upwards slightly. All his gear was in place and the harness was fastened around him. With a sigh he slid his helmet on and stepped towards the edge. He jumped off and started to descend the building a bit before pushing off to kick in the window of his target's office.

Unfortunately for him, though, the reinforced glass wasn't going to budge. He slammed into the glass with a heavy grunt and a thud before realising he lost the element of surprise. Banking on the fact that he still had the element of bewilderment, he quickly stuck a grenade to the window and ascended before blowing out the window.

As soon as the window was out, he jumped through with both pistols drawn, firing two heavy bolts into the man's chest...though not before the man managed to hit the alarm. It was also only then that he noticed the girl in there as well...

Ines blinked hard - her eyes had to be fooling her: An armoured man just kicked their window, creating a low clonking sound. The man she was negotiating with didn't pay it any mind until she pointed at the one outside "Is he supposed to be doing that?" Confused, the guy turned around, only to see the armoured one plant an explosive on the window. As she saw the same thing and was just a little better prepared, the Alderaanian pulled his arm until he got the drift. After he hopped over the table. the two of them ducked down under it, shielded from the explosion.

Using every curse word in the book and a couple invented ones, the large human walked towards the window with a waving fist. Meanwhile, the teen stood on her knees and barely showed her head as she peered over the bench. Just as she stood up, she saw the businessman press a personal alarm button and the assailant drop down, practically blowing the guy she had just been speaking to open with heavy blaster. Ines wanted to scream, but no sounds escaped her as she just stood there looking like a fool.

Unluckily for her, a guard came in with one blaster in each hand. He quickly saw the girl staring at his dead boss and then the armoured man by the window "Murderers! You'll pay for this!" he exclaimed before raising both weapons, one to fire at the teen and the other to fire at the man. Not only did he pose an immediate threat, he had also informed the rest of the crew that there were two murderers. Paralyzed by fear, Ines just stood there, looking at the armoured one with doe like eyes, obviously terrified of what had just happened.

Arden stood there, watching as the man hit the ground with the help of his blasters. His gaze moved up when he saw two terrified eyes staring at him from behind the table. He blinked, not exactly sure of what to do about her. It wasn't like she knew his identity, so he was safe from a bounty on his head. But the fear in her eyes did make him feel a little bad for her part.

A guard came rushing in, screaming at them. Apparently she was now an accomplice. But before the guard could raise a pistol at either of them, Arden's own pistol moved up and fired another bolt. The blaster screamed and a heavy bolt collided with the guard's chest, shattering right through his armour and sending him flying out the door. Arden rushed to the door and slammed it shut, locking it as well to buy them some time.

He moved back towards the window and latched his harness to the ascension cable once more to get out of the building. But before he jumped out, he stopped and turned to look at the woman again. Those terrified eyes were getting to him. "I suggest you get out of here before they catch you." he said as he turned slightly to look at her fully.

Almost as soon as the guard had entered the room did the new arrival kill him. Just like a few seconds ago, the guy in the helmet had tipped the power balance in his favour. At this point, the Alderaanian wasn't even a factor in the equation. If the sudden death of her potential business partner hadn't been chocking enough, this certainly did the deed. Frozen, Ines just stood there with two shaking hands in front of her mouth, her fingers not even being able to cover it fully. What little training she had didn't activate - as she just stood there like a fool, not even prepared to pull out her holdout blaster or dodge behind the table.

Her eyes kept following his T-visor and kept looking into the spot where his eyes would be. She wanted to see who it was but had little to no success as the helmet maintained his anonymity well, not even giving her a hint as to who the man under the mask was. Soon, the door was locked and only Ines and the stranger remained inside the room, the two of them and two horrendous corpses, thoroughly ruined by the heavy bolts.

Still, her eyes followed him, back to the window which he had entered through. At least he recommended her to escape too whilst letting, according to what she thought, their eyes meet. Pulling her gaze away, Ines looked at the locked door and head faint footsteps clonking up the stairs and then looked at him - while he could hop out through a window and rely on his gadgets from keeping him a intact, she had no interest in becoming the first female flatcake. With both secnarios looking horrendously stupid, her eyes just traveled between the door and the gaping hole in the window "Where?" she asked timidly with a small voice, barely loud enough for the man to hear.

He was barely able to hear her voice. But even if he didn't hear it, her body language spoke much louder. He looked around again and realized she had a point, making him look like a bit of an idiot. He looked at her once more before giving a sigh.

He released the harness and walked over to her. "Come on." he said casually as he placed a hand on her back and ushered her towards the window. Once there, he attached his harness again and wrapped an arm around her to hold her tightly against him. "Hold on, it's a long way down." and with that, he jumped out the window and started to ascend the building once more. Just in time too, since the guards just reached the door and kicked it down. As he ascended, he threw a grenade into the room and cleared the window just as an explosion went off. "That should keep them busy. They'll be onto us, we'll have to move." he explained to her.

In no time at all they were on the roof and he helped her to his ship. The assault ship was already idling and ready to launch. He released the harness and the built-in winch pulled it back into the ship. He looked at the ship and then back to her. "I can give you a ride out of here." he offered her. "Just tell me where you need to go, I can drop you off." he leaned against the side of his ship, one hand on a blaster as he eyed the door behind her that led to the roof, ready to cover them if the guards caught up with them.

"Better call it quickly, they'll be busting through that door any minute now." he spoke, looking back to her.

Despite the deep urge to run, Ines' feet wouldn't move as she watched the helmeted man release the harness and approach her. He had shot the other two but showed no signs of wanting to shoot her - yet he was still coming closer. His voice was more calm and steady than what she would have expected from someone in his situation. Ines didn't move a muscle until his words were heard and his hand ushered her forth. The scared noble meekly complied with his prompt and the two were soon at the window. Despite being frightened by his sudden touch, the Alderaanian remained still and allowed her body to be brushed up closely to his as he made a cautionary comment.

She kept getting exposed to frights as the man soon jumped out the window. Regardless of whether he'd be able to carry her on his own or not, Ines wrapped both arms around his torso and her legs against his. Her eyes were shut tight as she pushed her face against the upper side of the killer's shoulder. At this point, the guy may as well be a Hutt - she was going to cling to him anyways.

Having completely ignored the explosion and what was said about it, the Alderaanian clung to the man a little longer than needed as she hugged him tight even after they got up to the roof. Slowly, she opened her eyes and saw the duracrete floor he stood on. With a great deal of care, she set down her feet on the ground whilst looking at him attentively, scanning for any signs for her to stop.

Whether he wanted to harm her afterwards or not was unknown to her, but for now, Ines was steadily starting to realise that the killer saving her from the thugs. Not hesitating for long, the teen soon scurried into his ship whilst he was guarding the door. "Anywhere you want. Just away from here!" she hollered at the same time as she looked around in the cockpit, waiting for him to arrive. While she was a pretty good pilot, having one on both one and two joy rides in recent days, operating an entirely new ship was a different story. Nervously, Ines sat down in the co-pilot's seat but refrained from touching anything. With the chair angled sideways, the noble was ready to either hop off of the chair or help him get the ship started quicker - whichever he preferred.

To nobody's surprise she scrammed into his ship, clearly wanting to get out of harm's way. He still stood by the door as she screamed at him, checking his pistol. "Alright, then." he said with a shrug. Just as he turned to enter the ship, the door burst open. To the soldiers' dismay, though, a grenade was tossed right in the middle of the group as they breached, sending them flying in pieces.

He boarded the ship, firing away at what remained of the group of guards until the blast doors shut. He climbed the ladder and took his seat in the pilot's seat, not even batting an eye over the fact that she was also in the cockpit with him. He dropped his pistol on the dashboard and took control of the ship, ascending and flying off. He didn't say a word as he worked or even looked at her. The T-visor just stared out ahead of them or turned to look at the dials and controls. Only when they were quite a distance away from the building and starting to fly upwards to break atmosphere, did he look at her. "See, luv? Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Now, should I drop you off a' the nearest spaceport or should I jus' fly you back to wherever it is you're from?" he asked her casually, kicking back with one foot on the dashboard and the other resting on the control wheel to keep it flying steady.

His hands rested on the back of his head as he slumped back into his seat. Also no need to keep starin' at me like some bunny frozen in headlights, what happened back there was pretty mild." he continued like it was a walk in the park...
