Yvon nodded at Lissa's thanks wordlessly as the slicer snapped their own gloves on. Glancing around, they spotted a location by the door where the man likely left his keys and phone. They dug through his pockets, depositing the items in their 'homes' before helping drag the man upstairs.

"You should do that, if you can't incapacitate someone by hand." Yvon agreed factually. The lift up the stairs and to the tub was obnoxious but easily enough done with the pair of them. Yvon regarded the man in the tub as Lissa asked whether they should tie him up, noting a little bit of blood trickling down from his ear and into the tub.

"Unnecessary. He's not waking up any time soon." Or at all. The thought went through their head but was left unvoiced. Nothing for Lissa to concern herself with. Yvon followed Lissa downstairs, checking for signs of struggle or blood as they went, finding none.

"I think his size will fit me well enough." They said before examining Lissa's much smaller frame. "Throw one of the uniforms in the dryer on high for an hour. Maybe it will shrink a bit. I'm going to reprogram these cards." The slicer said as they pulled out their rig and the card they had, taking the other one from Lissa. They just had to reprogram them so that the IDs would scan as them and give an all clear as they went they went through any security checkpoints or doors. No sweat... Right.

Despite not drawing attention to it, as Vance was heading downstairs, Lissa did look down and notice the blood, turning his head and see his ears bleeding. All at once she felt a great swirl of pity and regret settle into her stomach. He may have been a sleazy piece of bantha poodoo, but he was still innocent in all this, they just needed his uniform and card.
"Frack...sorry Teddy," She muttered, her face morose as she left the room and made a mental note to buy a stun stick as soon as the job was over. She couldn't afford to get torn up though, she had work ahead of her.

She placed one of the uniforms in the dryer as directed, sticking it on high for an hour. In the meantime, she did anything Vance asked and disassembled her blaster to clean it, as well as pass the time. She was silent for most of it, her mind still musing on the man bleeding out upstairs, assuming he wasn't dead already. This was a messy job alright...

The time passed quickly for Yvon as they sliced the ID cards, making the necessary changes and adding some ride along code that should get them through the door. The job was already messy from the start and they were worried about how things would go moving forwards. Plus there was the matter of cleaning up the mess up stairs.

"Take the uniforms and his work bag to this address." Yvon said, sending Lissa the address of a new motel room. "I'll meet you there. I'm gonna sweep the building real quick for evidence."

As soon as Lissa was gone, Yvon would head upstairs. Standing in the bathroom staring down into the tub, Yvon felt... Nothing. There was no sadness, guilt, or empathy there. Just a vague annoyance at the mess. They breathed a sigh before getting to work, stripping the worker down and throwing his uniform in the wash. They returned to the bathroom and checked his pulse again. Still there, barely.

It was a shame for the man, being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But as far as Yvon was concerned, all he was was a witness. They turned the shower on, dumped a bit of soap over the man where it would sud up under the water and wash down the sink. They kneeled down, looking at his barely breathing face for one more moment before taking his head by the hair with their gloves hands. And slammed his head against the tub again for good measure.

He wouldn't be waking up.

Yvon proceeded through the house, wiping away whatever evidence of their presence might remain. It wasn't ideal, but it would have to do. They then made their way to the hotel room where Lissa would be waiting and knocked.

Lissa took the bag and left without a word, placing the gloves in her pocket. There was rush of air as the door opened and she left the house, it didn't wash away the dirt, just like how the sounds of people going about their business and living their lives didn't silence the doubts creeping in - if anything, it only made them worse. She first became a mercenary to provide for Dad, she did what she had to, broke fingers, smashed windows, made people fear for their lives and, yes, she killed when she had to...it wasn't like this though. Nar Shadda was full of criminals, very few people were innocent, but even then, she only killed the serious criminals; rapists, gang members, murderers, and even then, only as a last resort!

Now...a man woke up, had breakfast, showered, went to work, slaved for a corporation all day for his pay. He went to a bar to enjoy himself because he had just spent a day doing something he probably hated just to get by, who could blame him for getting more than a little drunk? Then he decided to try his luck with a lady seemingly by herself, and it got him killed. The man probably had such dreams, aspirations to leave the planet or move up in the ranks, maybe find a family for himself because his Mother won't stop nagging him to give her grandchildren. Maybe he had none of those things, maybe he was hollow and empty inside and just drank to feel something. It didn't matter anymore, all he was and could have been was dead.

It was her fault.

Lissa had barely even noticed she'd reached the hotel room until she was opening the door, walking in and dropping the bag on the bed before sitting down. She barely moved, barely made a sound, she simply pulled her legs up and wrapped her arms around them, tears beginning to form.

--------------------------------------------------------

She looked up at the knock, wiping the tears away and quickly shoving every thought back into the ether before getting up and dusting herself off, opening it when she saw Vance on the other side.
"Everything's in place?" She asked, face completely neutral.

Yvon stood at the door, waiting for it to open. A moment passed. And then another. They looked around a little bit, starting to get anxious when the door slid open. Lissa stood at the door and asked her question. Her tone and face were neutral, but something was off. Yvon examined her face for a moment, standing there in silence. Her tone was neutral, but her cheeks and eyes were all puffy and red.

"Everything is in order." Yvon nodded and stepped into the room, the door sliding closed behind them. They looked at Lissa again. Had the woman been crying? There was a moment of silence as Yvon turned her attention to the room, scanning it. The bag was placed on the bed, and there was a small mussed section where the woman had clearly sat. The rest of the room looked undisturbed.

"Is something amiss?" They asked, looking at Lissa again with a cold detachment as they cocked their head slightly.

Lissa walked into the bathroom and ran some cold water, splashing it against her face. The cold was sobering for the moment, but it only alleviated her feelings temporarily. Vance seemed to have picked up on it too, given their question. She looked at her cold gaze and thought for a moment. Should she be honest? If she is, she might be seen as a liability, but if not, she might be seen as suspicious for keeping secrets - either way wasn't particularly preferable.
"...it's the first time a civilian died on a job for me. It wasn't pleasant, and it wasn't clean, so it offended me on two levels." She said softly, staring her down. "No time to dwell on it anymore though, there's a job that still needs doing, can't let my feelings interfere."

Yvon watched Lissa leave for the bathroom, heard the water run and splash for a moment before she returned. There was still water droplets clinging to her hair and face when she finally answered Yvon's question, holding the slicer's cold gaze.

There would be no indication of the thoughts that turned in that mind behind the blue contact lenses. An unpleasant, unclean death of someone who hadn't been involved in the job except for the fact that they conveniently filled a need. The woman's soft tone seemed to quaver before she got a grip on herself, steeling herself for the job ahead.

"Noted." Yvon said simply, a short word and a short nod the only response the woman got to bearing her soul in that moment. The job still needed doing after all an the clock had started ticking. If Lissa's emotions got in the way, well... Yvon was the one that carried the dataplague, they could do it themselves.

"The evening shift starts in an hour, we need to catch the tram on time." Yvon said, moving on without a second thought. "Put this on." Yvon grabbed the shrunken Czerka uniform that had once been worn by the man who now lay cold and dead at the bottom of a running shower. They grabbed their own uniform and proceed back into the bathroom where they closed the door behind them.

Lissa nodded in acknowledgement and grabbed the uniform, stripping down to her scants and slipping the uniform on. It fit surprisingly well, though predictably it was a little tight around the chest. Well, if worst came to worst, maybe she could screw her way out of prison. Smelled fresh too, thank the Force for that - she wasn't sure how she'd react if it still smelled like stale drinks and armpit stains. The die was cast, only time would tell now how Vance would react to the information, and if it came down to it, it was possible only one of them would survive this mission. Hopefully, it wouldn't come to that.

She waited for Vance to re-emerge before grabbing the bag and her ID Card, clipping it to the jumpsuit, and opening the door for her partner.
To the tram then, lead on," She said, gesturing for them to go first.

Once in the bathroom Yvon locked the door behind them. Proceeding over to the mirror, they checked the wear on their epidermal disguise. It was still holding up well but given another day or two and it would definitely start to degrade. It was a good thing they were doing this tonight.

Stripping down and changing into the Czerka uniform, they checked the fit of it. Just a little baggy, making them appear slightly larger. It would do. There was the issue of Lissa to consider, but they were pretty sure the woman was in it for the haul. Moralistic regrets or uncertainties aside. If not...

Yvon would do whatever they calculated that they needed to do.

"Ready?" Yvon asked as they came out of the bathroom to see Lissa also dressed. They examined the fit of her disguise for a moment. "Perhaps an hour was too long." They commented before moving on and leaving the hotel room. They led the way to the tram station where Czerka workers were lining up to get aboard, each scanning their IDs before boarding.

Moment of truth, Yvon's turn in the que came up and they scanned their ID.

Vance Kesh

The screen read, signalling them the go ahead. Yvon breathed. This was just the first step though. The real question was if it would get them into the facility where security would no doubt be tighter. That would be the make or break. If it was break, well then Yvon would likely be plotting their own prison break next. Taking a seat, they watched as Lissa made it aboard behind them.

Lissa couldn't help but frown slightly at the sight of Vance's uniform which, while not a perfect fit, seemed far more comfortable than hers. Of course, Vance was quick to call out the obvious, to which Lissa only nodded in response.
"Evidently," She grumbled softly.

Following Vance to the tram station, Lissa was hit with another unwanted train of thought - they had killed the man these uniforms belonged to, now here they were about to carry out something akin to his morning routine. Put on the uniform, take the tram into the factory, all normal, all routine, except he wasn't the one doing it now. The ghost of the routine outlasted the man himself, that had to be some kind of commentary on big business and how it uses these people up like the resources they mine. She placed her ID to the scanner, then a moment of tension where everything seemed to heighten, her own heartbeat pounding against her ears until it was drowned out but a chipper beep.

Eisa T'Varnus

Ok, good, thank the Force for that. She hopped on the tram alongside Vance and nodded toward them, moving next to their seat, grabbing a rail and holding tight.

So far so good. Yvon kept their eyes to themselves as they rode the train. They kept quiet for the duration of the ride like the rest of the Czerka workers, though one or two gave them an odd look. Nobody raised the alarm though and soon the tram had arrived at the factory.

The tram car was a bustle of movement as all the Czerka employees got up at once to exit the tram. The tide of yellow uniforms left Yvon little choice in the matter as they were separated from Lissa and pushed near the front of the pack. Queuing in line, Yvon stepped ever slowly towards the security desk as the line moved one by one. A man sat behind the desk with a pair of security droids flanking the entrance.

Yvon stepped up to the scanner and swiped their card. There was a moment of silence after scanning the card, followed by a loud error noise and flashing red lights.

Yvon's eyes flicked to the security droids that moved to grab them. Stepping back only to run into the Czerka employee behind them, Yvon knew they were fucked. They slipped a hand into the pocket where the dataplague was stored, pulling it out and attempting to, what? The iron vice of droid hands grasped at their wrist and there was little option as they tried to fight it.

They dropped the dataplague to the ground, attempting to stamp on it with a heel only to be lifted up off the ground by the droid. The guard behind the desk stood up as the droids held the infiltrator, pulling a blaster and aiming it at Yvon. There was a brief flash of blue that was all Yvon saw before the world went dark and the slicer slumped over in the grasp of the droids before being dragged off for detainment. Unconscious.

Roll to spoof IDs: 1/20
Roll to destroy dataplague: 5/20

No plan survives contact with the battlefield.

Lissa knew this to be true and she had accepted it long ago. When a plan went awry, she adapted, and when it went swimmingly, she was highly suspect. Here and now though, this was potentially the biggest example of a plan going up in smoke she had ever seen. It all happened so quickly; Vance and her were separated, only for Vance to end up in front, handing off their ID Card. Something must have been faulty in the spoofing process though, alarms blared, they struggled and kicked and fought until a single stun round rendered them a heal of meat on the floor.

Their partner was down, the data-plague was lost, the mission was a failure.

She couldn't get caught here, she still had a chance, she needed to get away. Lissa pulled back, trying to slip back into the crowd unnoticed, and thankfully she was able to return to the tram in time. Given the looks she got though, she was almost guaranteed to be picked up at the next stop. When the tram stopped, she wouldn't be found though, having slipped out a maintenance hatch that led onto the track and crawled out from under the tram. Sprinting to an alley, she returned to the secondary hotel room and grabbed her clothes, burning the Czerka jumpsuit and anything else of import...

-------------------------------------------------------------------

She could almost feel how liquefied her body had become making her way back to the ship with the city on alert. The cargo ramp felt like a blissful doorway to nirvana that she was all too happy to limp across. She couldn't get into the cockpit and into the air fast enough, plotting a so she could jump to Hyperspace in the atmosphere if it came to it, though thankfully it didn't. As the blue gave away to black, and then blinding white as the stars stretched and zoomed past her vision, she finally exhaled.

"...frack."
