Beep..Beep..Beep..

"His life systems are showing stable, the surgery on his eye was minimal, he has severe damage to the tissue, his vision in the eye is practically gone." A Medical droid's voice could faintly be heard from the darkness of Oren's slumber. His eye fluttered and slowly light began to filter into vision, though it was only a partial vision, the right side was completely black.

The Jedi would find himself within a white bed, and clean white walls surrounding him. His hands, robotic and flesh would be fastened and cuffed to either side of the bed. He could feel his legs bound to the bed as well, and it seemed that someone had taken him in, for how long or by who--he wasn't sure. Everything had been blurry, he barely remembered the last portions of that fight.

What he did know was that he very well messed up, and possibly put a whole swath of Jedi in danger, depending on who took him in. His brown eye would peer towards the droid, gulping slyly as his dry throat cracked, "H-hello.." He would peer towards the door and the window, but couldn't see anyone there.

Trys made her way to the room as soon as she was told that he had been awake. She had time to go over all the footage from the Naboo incident, and also had the notes from the interviews she conducted on Coruscant.

Within moments, the Jedi would see Trys walk in wearing normal civilian clothes. She wore a jacket as usual, keeping her full sleeve tattoos out of view when she worked. Trys had a cup of caf in one hand, and she sipped from it as she looked at him. Her gaze roamed over all his injuries, her face not betraying any expression. If he attempted to probe her mind, he would have a difficult time doing so simply from how stubborn and headstrong she was.

“Welcome back,” She said as she pulled out her badge and flashed it, “Sector Ranger Trys Aran,” She introduced herself curtly before stashing the badge away again, “Are you well enough to answer a few questions?” Trys didn’t make it obvious whether he was in trouble or how deep in trouble he was. She was difficult to read right off the bat, but she didn’t take her gaze off his, always looking for any subtle gestures or signs.

This was not the first Force user she had come across, that much would be clear.

Oren would pull himself up as far as he could on the bed as the woman entered the room, she looked to be around the same age as himself, maybe a few years younger. A gentle smile would form on his face as she flashed her badge, and gave her name. Trys Aran..she looks like she's been through the ringer. His lone eye would drift down to his mechanical hand, I suppose I have too.

"Jedi Knight, Oren Zapan," his voice would crack, as his fingers gently tapped against the sheets on the bed, "But, I'm sure you already knew that." This wasn't his first time meeting with a ranger, he had helped a few during his time, but it seemed the situation was different, he didn't really do himself any favors with the stunt on Naboo, that was for sure.

"Please, ask away.." There was no malice or ill will in his words, he would willingly comply. He would wince slightly, as he felt a pain run through the charred side of his face. "I will do my best to help comply with anything you may need."

Trys took a sip from her caf before taking a seat in a chair near the bed, “I’ll cut through the bullshit,” She said tersely, not one to really waste time beating around the bush, “Not too long ago, I was interviewing some survivors from an altercation in the lower districts of Coruscant. They had missing limbs and were sent into extensive recovery, and everything points to you as the culprit.”

She paused for a moment to let that sink in before moving on, “This most recent incident...you were caught on footage working with a masked perpetrator that was also seen in the footage broadcasted by Durr the Hutt. The incident resulted ultimately in the death of a very key political diplomat,” Trys knew everyone had seen those footages by now.

“Curiously, you’ve introduced yourself as a Jedi,” Trys narrowed her eyes, “However, all of your actions have been violent and straddle the line between wanton violence and wannabe vigilante. In any case, you’ve completely disregarded the law and have been abusing the superhuman abilities you have.”

Trys had confiscated his saber and it was placed in an evidence bag, “I know there are Jedi and I know there are….dark siders. They are more of a terrorist organization of sorts, and they usually carry red sabers. While I understand you are allegedly different, I can’t help but fail to see any differences between your actions and those of a terrorist.”

Oren would raise a brow slightly as she cut through the bantha fat and got straight to the message. Her words were sharp and pointed, they criticized him for his actions on this planet and Naboo. While, they had purpose, she wasn't wrong. He took the law into his own hands, and caused a ripple through the force. He had made mistakes, that he could agree with.

He wouldn't cut her off, instead he would lay there in bed, letting her finish. "You're talking about those thugs, the same ones that nearly stabbed a young woman?" He'd tilt his head slightly, "I concur with your statement that it was rather brash of me to take the law into my own hands. But, seeing those men corner her...I had to act." He'd sigh, "Otherwise, you could have been looking at a missing persons case or a homicide. I'm not saying it's right, but I did it and I'll own up to it, and if I must serve time, then I'll do so."

He would close his eye as he listened to the rest. His mind flashing back to the half masked girl and the rainy night on Naboo. She mentioned the holotape of Durr the Hutt, and slowly things began to connect between the footage and the words she told him. "Then it's true, she is the apprentice of that masked man--the one that's started all this fervor." He would shake his head as he took a deep breath, "You're right, I was there that night, I was on mission from my order, to investigate signs and whispers of darkside users seeping in from the Unknown Regions of Space."

He would let the words linger for a moment, "She told me that a man named Nando Moor wanted that politician dead, why I don't know..I stopped her from killing five thugs, but I didn't have enough power to stop the death of that politician. She didn't kill him either, someone else did, who I don't know." He thought back to her blue blade and the lightening, "It was the first time I met one, an opposite within the force. I should have done more to prevent this situation from the start, I should have subdued that woman as the code demanded, but I froze, and I failed my teachings." He'd lean back against his pillow.

She mentioned the violence, it was true that he had brought it on a few people, his blade had torn limbs from bodies, but he only ever did it when he felt there was no choice. "You're right, I have straddled the line between vigilante and my actions have caused ripples across the force."

He contemplated the order and their teachings, he had read the history, when darksiders and lightsiders clashed, it would lead to countless death and war for those caught in the crossfire. It was a burden that weighed on him and his shoulders. "Our order has existed on and off for thousands of years, varying in form and scope., with our generation only coming into existence around a hundreds years ago. We're made up of women, children, men, alien, human...anyone that seeks to learn the ways of the force, we will teach."

His eye would focus on her, "We have a whole list of teachings, philosophies that guide us, help us connect with the force that exists all around us and even in you. We recognize the darkness, but do our best daily to reject the insidious allure that whispers to you. We do not seek death for others, and we only resort to violence if it's to protect the weak...I attacked those men on Coruscant because they were going to kill that girl. I injured those five men on Naboo so they could walk away with their lives that day...I'm not saying it's justified, if you want to lock me up, I won't resist."

Trys quirked an eyebrow as he explained that he attacked the thugs to protect someone, “And you couldn’t simply incapacitate them? You had to do permanent dismemberment and leave them wounded and bleeding without calling authorities to process them accordingly?” She wasn’t going to waste time discussing philosophies with him. By the end of his speech, he had all but agreed with all her observations.

“You have broken the law within both Coruscant and Naboo jurisdictions,” Trys said flatly, “Your ability to use the Force does not give you the right to wield it willy nilly and operate by your own set of laws. You do not get to decide what level of punishment others get. At most, you should have knocked them out and called authorities, but you didn’t,” She recalled his little story about ‘Nando Moor’.

“There is footage of you leaving after the woman dies,” Trys explained, “And there is nothing to suggest you didn’t already work with and know the masked individual. You were seen….embracing. Then I suppose there was a lover’s spat and they gave you a little makeover,” Trys sipped again from her caf. After a moment, she rose to stand.

“I will have to brief my superiors on all this,” She said, “Until then, you will remain under Ranger custody.”

Oren would raise a brow towards the woman, "Five to Six Men with blasters, it's easier said than done," he'd say with a huff, remembering the blaster bolt that struck his shoulder then. "You're right though, I could have called the authorities, and I didn't." He'd say in a calm tone. "So you got me there."

His eyes would narrow slightly, when she mentioned his own set of laws. It was true that the Jedi operated with their own philosophy, maybe they all were vigilantes, most of them had broken the law to protect another person. Maybe it was time for the Order and these Rangers to come to official terms with each other, to make it clear. "There are more Jedi than just me, they've met these darksiders and they've clashed blades with them."

They had held two separate conferences, and had collected a wide array of information on various targets, and some of the circumstances in their own investigations were grim and posed a danger. "You have no reason to believe me, so take this as a grain of Crait. But, we have several cases that could be of interest to you. The Durr investigation, this man and the woman I encountered we know are operating together, but their causation we do not know why."

He would pause, "We are also aware of the return of the Knights of Ren, a darkside cult that follows this idea known as The Ren. One of our own fought on the planet of Mimban after he found them tearing the life force out of every living member of a village..Knights are currently aiding the citizens of Ukio, after the knights devastated their planet and ecosystem, another Jedi has met a group of 'scholars' on the planet Mustafar, it seems this terrorist organization that you mention, is a whole mixture of fringe cults--what their plan is, could mean destruction of trillions in the galaxy."

He knew there was no reason for her to care, but he figured he would put it out there for her to contemplate. "I accept being detained, you're doing what you must. But, our order is looking to seek you out, we want to help, clear our names, and operate within an official structure--so we don't have incidents like my own on Coruscant. We can't be the police of the galaxy, but we can help you, and we can start doing things the right way--no more vigilante justice," he would sigh, "Just think about it..alright?" At the end of the day, he simply wanted to do right in the galaxy, and he knew there was a better way.
