This seemed to be a long time coming and perhaps it was pretty much well over due, actually it was long over due given that it had been a good six or so years since she had left the Jedi Order - and in that time not once had set set foot on her true homeworld! Stepping up from the flight console of the Rim Hopper, the fiery haired spacer stretched out her arms as she rolled her head back and forth from each side, stretching out her muscles after a good few hour long stretch cooped up in the cockpit of the freighter. AS she stepped away from flight controls, the fiery haired female turned her attention towards the main power control switches, her metallic arm stretching up to toggle at the various buttons and switches to power down the engines and shift the ships systems onto the auxiliary batteries.

Stepping through the threshold of the cockpit and through to the corridor, Eisa stopped as she drew level with the quarters that had been set aside for her crew mate. With a quick rap of her cybernetic knuckles against the bulkhead door, the pilot knocked a few times to get the little sabotage droids attention - no doubt pulling her away from dissecting the latest additions to the ever growing scrap pile that was building within Curse's quarters. "Oi Curse, that's us docked. Wanna go explore Black-Spire? Hear there's a droid depot there" Eisa spoke out, pausing for a moment to hear for the droids response before heading down towards the cargo deck and over towards the boarding ramp.

With a slight sense of trepidation, the fiery haired pilot approached the ramp controls, her eyes closing as she took a deep breath. Whilst on her landing approach she had managed to get a glimpse of where she had originally grown up , before she was handed over to the Jedi by her parents when she was not but a babe in her mothers arms. But what ever glimpses she could make were brief and fleeting, the Rim Hopper was dinged up enough as it was, without adding in a few more scrapes from passing over the mountains a little too closely. With a quick punch Eisa hammered on the ramp release button, and watched as the door gradually ground its way down, revealing a bustling settlement that was broken up by towering black stone spires that reached out far beyond the height of the tallest building.

Taking a deep breath of the fresh air, the fiery haired pilot grinned as her bright emerald eyes took in the sight that was revealed to her. It certainly lacked the mass sprawl of the core worlds, but it was by no means remote and isolated like how it was on Ajan Kloss, a wild grin curled at the edge of her lips as the notion that this outpost would be the perfect spot to hide out if any of the motley pair's antics got a little dicey and they needed to lay low. Stepping down the ramp, Eisa shifted her attention to the star port's crew and tossed em the ship's docking card and a few credit sticks for her landing fees - before returning her attention back to the approach of her companion, holding her cybernetic arm out to the side for Curse to scramble up. "All set bud?" Eisa questioned before heading out of the star port and towards the outpost ahead of them.

The moment Eisa mentioned the words "droid depot" she would hear a sudden crash from behind the door, followed by a desperate scrambling and the sound of bits of scrap being flung about heedlessly. Finally something relatively small banged against the door, followed by a few inappropriate frustrated remarks in droidspeak, followed by the door itself sliding open. The clearly eager buzz droid hopped down from the door control panel and promptly scuttled after Eisa like an excited puppy.

// Droid depot? // She chirped out with obvious interest. // What kind of models are available? What are their function? Quality? General composition? Do they belong to someone who's things we're allowed to break? // She rattled off a series of questions like these as she followed her master to the loading ramp, completely oblivious to Eisa's clear anxiety about setting foot on this planet. Normally the perceptive little droid would have noticed such things, but the potential to cause havoc, especially against other droids, had stolen her full attention. She was designed for war after all. Though many would have been horrified by the line of thinking in her droid brain, it wasn't exactly something she could help. Disassembling machines was fun. Disassembling machines that could think was more fun.

As they stepped off onto the planet surface Curse drew a few concerned looks from the locals, though they paid her no mind after Eisa had tossed them some credits. As the fiery haired human offered her her cybernetic arm the buzz droid hopped on board at once, shell casings wagging excitedly as she fixed her crimson photoreceptors on her companion. // We are here to break things right? // She asked expectantly.

Nykoria closed her eyes and took a deep breath; a wide content smile of full of Jedi serenity on her face. Finally, she had reached her destination—Batuu. And more importantly, she was standing on solid ground now. The Serendipity was a great ship, but clearly not suited for a couple of weeks of travelling half-way across the Galaxy. The Council clearly hadn't accounted for that when sending Kori on a pickup mission. Alone, in the void of space, away from all the people, for weeks... The Zeltron would've gone mad at the mere notion.

Luckily, she wasn't alone. Well, not entirely. Although no other Jedi were available to join her, there was someone who did. BD-9, a little droid that had already been with Kori on a couple of missions. Even though the Jedi couldn't understand the little machine, it would still keep Kori company. The Zeltron would chat with the droid throughout the journey, just to pass the time. Occasionally, she'd even try to learn the old Droidspeak dialect from Beedee by asking him to say one word or another. Nykoria still couldn't tell Beedee's word for "stim" from his interpretation of the Huttese insult "sleemo"; there were some other cases that left room for errors in translation. However, the first steps were made.

"Hey there, little one!" Kori gave her companion a hearty smile, turning around on her toes to greet him. "I don't know about you, but it feels great to breathe the real air for a change!" In fact, Kori was so eager to get planetside, that the Serendipity had arrived early. The Jedi Order's contact wouldn't be on Batuu for a few more days. But it meant Kori would get to spend more time planetside, so the Zeltron wasn't complaining.

"How about we make the best of that extra time we have? I heard there's a droid depot here. Bet you wouldn't say no to some oil after a long trip, huh?" Kori would kneel to pat the bot on the head. "After that, we could team up with a few locals and go for a hike. This place has quite the views." The prospect was so enticing, and the vistas so great, that the Zeltron was radiating happiness as she said it. She'd stand up ant tilt her head with a mischievous smirk: "Race you to the Black Spire?"

Batuu is an unfamiliar planet to BD-9: the unfamiliarity only added to the little droid's eagerness. Are there ruins to investigate? Old data terminals to scour? With the time that the two of them had on hand, spending some personal time definitely would not hurt. His Zeltron companion's enthusiasm fueled the droid's bouncy gait as much as Beedee's appearance endeared the Jedi.

// This unit would greatly appreciate an oil bath! // the droid chirped happily as he nuzzled his head against the Zeltron's hand.

Given that Master Nykoria could not understand him anyways, she likely had not picked up that the droid was masterless some time after the famed Battle of Exegol, all the way up until he ran into a Jedi Knight on Geonosis. Oil baths were hard to come by in those times; Beedee was glad to leave the days of struggling with dirt and grime sneaking into his joints behind. Droid depots were often oases for him in those days.

// A race? // Beedee repeated the Zeltron's last question. // This unit would be glad to! //

The BD unit knew, and Nykoria probably knew as well, that unless the Jedi used the Force, the droid is far faster than the two. But the reality of the matter didn't stop the droid's eagerness to play along. As the Zeltron trailed him, Beedee would take non-conventional routes to spice up the trek, diving underneath street stalls or climbing up into the rafters (invading private property along the way), but at the same time taking care to avoid getting caught up with the locals going about their day.

Finding the droid depot itself isn't too difficult: particularly for Beedee. If the droid had an olfactory sensor, he would be able to smell the building all the way from the spaceport. Once he made it to the entrance, Beedee waited for Nykoria to catch up. It is best that he at least pretended to be someone's droid. Although recognized as a little helper in the Jedi Order, BD-9 did not consider any Jedi his master, Nykoria included.

Pursing her lips as her companion quizzed her over the droids that would be at the settlement's droid depot, the fiery haired spacer shook her head as her shoulders rolled into a light shrug. "Not got a clue Curse" Eisa offered, as she cocked her head to the side so to look at the buzz droid through the corner of her gaze. "Did hear you complain bout your tools dulling the other day, figured if anything we can see if they have any replacements in stock" she added with a light smile, though she wasn't quite sure whether it was wise to better equip the sabotage droid to continue wrecking destruction whenever her back was turned - then again if the two were ever in a pinch, it would be best to make sure that the little droid and all her functions were fully primed.

As the spacer continued walking towards the market streets, Eisa turned her attention back towards Curse as she expectantly chirped for confirmation that they were here to trash things, a slight murmuring escaping her lips as she mulled over the prospect of letting the buzz droid run loose - before concluding that at least for the time being it might be best not to. "Probably best if we behave" Eisa commented lightly, as a nervous smile crossed her lips. "This is where I was born, I've not been here since my family gave me over to the recluses when I was baby" she continued, her eyes panning away from regarding the crimson photo receptors of buzz droid perched on her shoulder, moving over towards the towering black rock like spires that seemed to burst out from the ground and reach up towards to the sky above.

It all seemed incredibly peaceful, despite there being lingering signs of being under occupation by the First Order. Even though all the heraldry and banners had been long since torn down, the give away from and function of the buildings they had constructed were the dead set give away - the organic stone work of the native buildings clashing hard against the cold prefabricated profiles of Imperial esq design. Yet as she continued to survey the surroundings of her proverbial home town, she couldn't help but feel a draw within the Force towards the centre of the settlement, not from a presence from an individual, but from a structure - if she was to try and describe it, it felt vaguely similar to how the Temple once felt on the rate occasions that it was unoccupied.

Shaking the thought off for the moment, figuring that they would undoubtedly either see for themselves or find out from the locals the history of the settlement. The spacer's mind turned back towards her companion, as a slight smile curled on her lips. "That and think we need to also scout out some places to hide and lie low" Eisa added with a slight smirk, as her emerald hued gaze returned to meet her crew mate's. "Just in case we piss off the Hutts again, need to get a few friendly hiding spots"

Curse nodded her head enthusiastically to Eisa's words. It was good to have the human around, because in her excitement she often forgot about the importance of self-maintenance. // Oh yes, some new parts would be much appreciated. // She agreed, holding up the dulled blades of her circular saw for effect. The tool wasn't completely useless yet, but she had been finding it harder and harder to cut through things over the last few weeks. Not to mention the droid depot may have some entirely new upgrades she could equip. If Eisa was willing to pay for them of course, since she generally didn't seem to agree with stealing from average folk.

The buzz droid tilted her head as her master smiled nervously and mentioned that this was her homeworld before breaking eye contact. The memories of her childhood seemed to be making her despondent. Privately Curse lamented that organics couldn't simply erase such unpleasant memories as a droid could. // Don't fret Eisa, my manufacturer sold me too! // She offered cheerfully, not recognizing her attempts at encouragement would probably have the opposite of intended effect.

At any rate it wouldn't be difficult for her to follow her master's orders here. Batuu, while interesting for it's unique landscape and architecture, didn't offer too much to do for a buzz droid. So the little Pistoeka would instead endeavor to spend her time trying to raise her companion's spirits. No matter how horrible at it she was. // My frame makes it very easy for me to find hiding spots. // She responded to Eisa's statement about finding a place to lay low. She then looked the human up and down. // You are much larger so it will be a bit more difficult, but I'm sure I can find something that works! //

It looked like you didn't have to ask Beedee twice to cause some harmless mischief. A couple of beeps, and the droid eagerly rushed off, giving Nykoria more than just a run for her credits. The Zeltron followed, amplifying her speed with the Force; but not to a point where someone would deem her speed to unnatural. For all intents and purposes, she was "a girl chasing a droid"... who preferred non-orthodox routes. The Zeltron didn't have that luxury.

A few narrow escapes from bumping into people, along with a few "Woah!", "Watch out!", and "Sorry!" were the only incidents worth mentioning. Other than that, the run was fine... mostly. The droid had proven to be better in that challenge. Though Kori condoned her failure to herself; with all the people around, the Knight couldn't use the Force too openly, nor could she trace across the rooftops.

Still, she caught up with Beedee about 5 seconds later, which wasn't a bad result. "Nice run!" she chuckled to her companion, wiping the first beads of sweat off her forehead. "I'll ask you for a rematch some day." Still, Kori couldn't be upset about her defeat for too long. The very ability to run around after weeks spent aboard a relatively small vessel was exhilarating. "Well, let's get to oil diving, huh?" the Zeltron commented jokingly.

On the outside, the depot building seemed big enough. But the inside, it felt... cosily cramped. There were droids of all shapes and sizes: humanoid-like interpreters, domed astromechs, bi-pedal gonk droids, small wheeled mouse droids, you name it. Active and inactive, they filled the room, were lying on maintenance tables, or taking an oil bath in a separate area further in the hall.

Nykoria headed over toward the counter, where a Besalisk mechanic was apparently working on a small MSE-droid. One arm held the magnifying glass, and two other were handling the microsoldering tools. "Hello," the Zeltron leaned on the counter and put a few credit chits on it. "Could my little friend here get an oil bath? I've got some business to attend to in the meantime, but I'll be back in 20 minutes."

After a grunt of confirmation from the busy Besalisk (who seized the credits with the last free hands), Nykoria knelt next to Beedee: "I'll go visit the market in the meantime. Enjoy yourself and try not to cause too much trouble in the meantime, ok?" She winked to the droid, reminding about his run through the outpost. "I'll be right back." With that, the Zeltron would head aside the depot, intent on seeing what else the place had to offer.

Huh? BD-9 was expecting the Zelton to hang out while he had his oil bath, but apparently that was not to be the case. He gave Nykoria a dejected look as the Zeltron headed out. When it was just him and the Besalisk mechanic, the room became oddly quiet as the two stared at each other. Without a word, the Besalisk put aside the MSE droid and cranked up the oil bath. It seemed like he wasn't much of a talker: simply gesturing for the little droid to settle in.

The bath itself was relaxing, like how organics would describe a spa, but the experience was... bland. The Besalisk went back to picking at the MSE droid after ensuring that BD-9 was settled in, leaving the droid alone. In the oil bath.

Beedee was conflicted. Should he follow Nykoria? Should he follow her instructions and stay? What if she needed his help? But would she be disappointed if he doesn't demonstrate trustworthiness? He debated with his personality matrix, trying to draw a conclusion. Logically, BD-9 would try to call Nykoria, but she will not understand him at all, especially without any visual cues that he could provide for her. He finally settled on waiting the allotted 20 minutes before he makes his move.

A bemused expression crossed the fiery haired spacer's features as her crewmate attempted to console her, a few rapid blinks of her eyes passed as she just cocked her head and stared at the droid in bewilderment at Curse's words. Her lip gradually curling into a light smile that lingered for a moment, before a hearty chuckle escaped her lips. "You droids have such a quirky way of putting things" the spacer remarked as she reached with her opposing hand to playfully tussle the droid's outer casing, her bright emerald hued eyes offering a wink before her attention was shifted towards the winding market streets ahead of them.

Her attention shifted towards an exterior wall that was covered with what appeared to be countless droid parts that were fastened to a large series of nets that hung off the wall, off the ground beside the exterior wall mounted scrap pile was a penned off enclosure with various droids sitting stationary, their lifeless photo receptors seemingly staring out into space beyond the planet's atmosphere. "Guess this is the place" Eisa commented as she nodded in the direction of the droids being sat out on display.

Stepping through the door, the pair entered the Droid Depot, the fiery haired spacer's gaze being pulled away from the shelves and racks focusing skywards as a seemingly large network of conveyors and pulleys whirred over head, transporting various limbs and chassis parts from what looked like the entire Astromech catalogue. After taking in her latest surroundings, and figuring that perhaps it would be best to not spend too much time looking over the various parts that were on display, anticipating that Curse would be metaphorically salivating at the array of parts and assemblies that surrounded them. Eisa moved over towards the counter, approaching the Besalisk mechanic who was running the store.

"Ya alright there" Eisa spoke out in greeting as she adjusted her cybernetic arm over so that her metallic hand set down onto the surface of the counter for Curse to scamper down off her shoulder if the little droid wanted to. "Looking for some replacement tool heads and blades for my crew mate here" she continued as she gestured to the buzz droid, figuring that Curse would be the better one to air what parts it was that she needed.

Whilst she left Curse to place her order, Eisa wouldn't help but let her gaze wander around the room once again, though this time her bright emerald eyes settled in on and focused on a small droid that was getting an oil bath. A curious expression crossing her features, as she looked the droid over, whilst she imagined that like most droids it should be enjoying it's little soak in the boiling oil - the spacer couldn't help but shake the suspicion that it was clearly agitated, like a little pup waiting for it's master to return. "Hang in there buddy" Eisa spoke as she offered the BD unit a quick wink before returning her attention back towards Curse and the Besalisk, waiting for a moment for Curse to finish with her shopping list, mostly so she could add in her own additions. "Also if you've got some arm actuators from a 3PO series I'll take those as well, and if you have any holo projectors that word work with this little scamp" Eisa inquired before gesturing towards Curse beside her, her eyes moving to meet the crimson photo receptors of her crew mate. "How else are we gonna have movie night? "

Curse was glad to see her consoling words were successful in improving Eisa's mood. After all a crew operated most efficiently when morale was high. She was much more interested however to get a good look at the parts on display within the droid depot, all kinds of would-be scrap just there for the taking. She would crawl from one of Eisa's shoulders to the other and then back again, taking the time to get a good look of every piece of machinery. The little Pistoeka restrained herself for the time being though, she could sabotage a few things on her way out after the owner had repaired her. That was just strategic planning.

As they reached the counter the Besalisk recoiled slightly at the sight of Curse, clearly aware of just what she was and how dangerous she could potentially be to his business. The buzz droid for her part paid no mind to this reaction as she crawled down Eisa's arm and onto the countertop. After doing a quick diagnostic she began rattling off a list of required repairs and maintenance to the Besalisk.

//I require a new blade for my circular saw and replacement drill head as well. Also my maneuvering jets require adjustments. Also my outer casing requires a new coating to shield against high temperatures. Also-//

"Alright alright, I'll take a look at you." The Besalisk cut the droid off before turning his attention back to Eisa. "Those I can get you. Got a holoprojector in stock. It's an older model though, might flicker on you a bit."

// I want to watch Hunter! // The buzz droid exclaimed enthusiastically, referring to an old action holo about a team of Sector Rangers trapped on a jungle moon and hunted by some advanced alien species from another galaxy.

Normally, Nykoria would've waited at the depot for Beedee. But after a week in space, she felt the urge to stretch here legs a little, walk around, and explore. In large part because she needed a bath just as much as Beedee did; but without oil, natuarally. And the sooner she'd get it, the better. That's why the Zeltron figured she'd save time and get her bearings while Beedee was preoccupied.

Still, a part of Kori felt off about leaving Beedee at the depot. That little machine was like a mascot of the Jedi Order by then, helping out more Jedi than one, and on multiple missions. If anything were to happen to him... On the other hand, they were on a peaceful planet on the outskirts of the galaxy. The outpost was big, and everyone knew each other. What could possibly go wrong?

Beedee watched as another customer and her droid entered the depot. He recognized the Pistoeka: a rare Clone Wars era droid model, much like himself. He felt a little weary, simply from remembering the Confederate droid model's role in that war. But the Clone Wars has long past, so it is not a big deal. As long as the Pistoeka keeps its saws and drills away.

When the woman gave a consoling side comment, BD-9 replied with a wag of his antennae, as to avoid splashing hot oil. He watched as the pair worked out what they needed with the Besalisk since there was nothing else notable going on. He perked up at the mention of a movie night.

A movie night would likely boost Nykoria's mood, though the droid would not know what kind of movies that the Zeltron would like. Jedi business generally did not allow for such personal time. He knew one of his previous owners was particularly fond of The Royal Bride, a similarly old holofilm with heroes, giants, villains, miracle men, and true love. An inconceivably good film, he would say. But that was nearly 131 years ago, when his former master was living in retirement on Vardos.

As BD-9 watched the exchange, he noticed the equipment that the red-headed customer had on her. Of course, she had a K-16 blaster on her, which is not particularly noteworthy for a planet near the edge of galaxy, but she had another weapon as well. Although not hooked on the belt in the same way, BD-9 was certain that the customer also carried a lightsaber. A fellow Jedi on Batuu? Beedee ran a quick scan of his databanks, but he did not come up with any matches. He would not say that his database of Jedi is complete, considering he spent most of his time on Ajan Kloss, but surely the Jedi Order would have just relegated the task to a Jedi already on the planet instead of going through the trouble of finding someone who can make the trip. Unless this was the contact that Nykoria mentioned?

After weighing the options, Beedee judged it safe to ask. Nykoria had not given him a description of the contact after all. BD-9 did not ask either, since the two technically still had several days before the actual meeting.

// Are the two of you meeting with someone in the next few days? This unit and his companion had just arrived on-planet to speak with someone. // Beedee asked the woman, paddling his way to the edge of the pool.

He was careful to avoid mentioning Jedi, since it can be hard to gauge how the Besalisk would react, or the customer and her droid if it turns out that they were not who he thought they might be. It should be an innocent enough question to respond to.

A light chuckle escaped Eisa's lips as the buzz droid reacted to the prospect of there being a movie night with the addition of a holo projector into it's list of parts and functionality, instantly citing a corny old action film. "Well we're gonna have plenty of long haul jumps to work through the entire catalogue of movies bud" Eisa remarked with a playful wink being directed to Curse, figuring that perhaps in the long run maybe implementing movie nights on the ship would be a good means of keeping the buzz droid distracted enough so that it didn't decide to trash the ship when it got bored during the week long hyperspace jumps across the galaxy.

As she was about to speak to the droid mechanic about how long it would take to get Curse fitted with her upgrade and replacement parts, the fiery haired spacer's attention was shifted back towards the small droid whose head was barely peaking out of the oil bath. A curious expression crossing her features as it questioned her whether She and Curse were due to be meeting someone within Batuu. "Sorry bud, it's not us" Eisa spoke out in response as she shook her head with a light shrug. "We're just here to visit the old homestead" she explained before offering a light smile,

Turning her attention back towards the Besalisk, as he continued to examine Curse. "How long you reckon you need?" the firey haired spacer inquired, causing the droid mechanic to shrug his upper set of arms, "Dunno, about half an hour or so" he grunted, to which a light smile crossed Eisa's features as she nodded in acknowledgement. "Ok then, I'm just gonna nip over to that Cantina accross the street" Eisa advised as she gestured towards the general direction of where she had spotted the cantina, before her attention shifted towards Curse. "And you missy, best behaviour otherwise i'm confiscating your AT-RT" she cautioned, before she took a few steps back from the counter, catching the briefest of glimpses of concern and confusion that had formed on the Besalisk's face.

When someone spoke up in binary Curse was finally alerted to the presence of another droid. The Pistoeka turned to face the machine sitting in the oil bath while Eisa responded to it's question, photoreceptors focusing in with interest. As her analyzation came to a conclusion she was immediately intrigued, jumping down from the countertop and scurrying over despite protests from the Besalisk that had been examining her.

The buzz droid scuttled right up to the edge of the oil bath, leaning in to get a close look at BD. //Wow! You're a BD unit aren't you?// She chittered out excitedly, scuttling from one side of the droid to the other as she inspected him. //You must be as old as I am. I've never seen one of you before.// Rather rudely she reached out with one of her pincer arms to grab BD's leg and pull it up out of the pool to get a better look at it. //Are all your parts still manufacturer stock? Or are some of them replacements?// Already Curse's programming was beginning to kick in, but a few words from her master caught her attention.

The buzz droid's shell casings drooped a bit with disappointment as Eisa insisted she not cause any trouble and even threatened some unthinkable repercussions should she not control herself. With a whir that was her best approximation of a sigh the Pistoeka turned around to face her master again. //Yes Eisa...// She said obediently, though the moment the red haired human exited the shop she immediately turned around and cycled through her photoreceptors' filters as she inspected BD once more.

"Don't even think about it you little womp rat." The Besalisk growled from behind his counter as he pointed at her. "I'll put a restraining bolt on you if I have to..." Curse ignored the mechanic. //My designation is K3-R5,// She informed BD. //What's yours?//

Kori had seen everything she needed to about the settlement, and already planned on renting a room at a local inn. Even if the next day weren't promising a lot of new experiences, it was great already. Mainly because the Knight wouldn't have to spend it confined to her small spaceship. Now all that was left was to get back to the depot and... "Firehair?!" the Zeltron exclaimed her surprise.

Of all the people she could run into, it had to be the unruly ex-Padawan who had left the Order years ago. Apparently, the Force always found ways for them to meet. Ajan Kloss was kind of logical, being the site of the Jedi Temple; Bretnaal could be seen as a lucky coincidence. But now they were at the edge of the galaxy; yet Kori would recognize those bright hair and a flashy prosthetic arm anywhere. Eisa. The Zeltron corrected herself mentally. She had done some asking around and remembered the ex-Padawan's name since their first meeting. It would be rather awkward if she had to refer to the woman only by nickname, Firehair.

"What are you doing here, now of all times?!" the Zeltron approached Eisa with a wide smile; stepping just a couple of feet away so as not to intrude on personal space. Getting to the droid was blown out of Zeltron's mind for the moment; BD-9 would be fine at the depot for a while longer. What mattered was that the Force definitely had to be at play here. "And what are the odds of us meeting here of all places?"

Although the Pistoeka approached him, BD-9 was cautious about the droid getting too touchy. Unlike K3-R5, Beedee did not have memory wipes. His recollection of the Clone Wars was as easy to access as what Master Nykoria had for breakfast yesterday. Regardless whether K3-R5's approach was by native programming or by honest curiosity, Beedee was not ready to take chances. Even so, he kept his spark projector retracted in its leg compartment, seeing that the Pistoeka's owner seemed to be truthful when she said she did not want trouble here.

He pulled back as the droid tried get ahold of his leg: that could be a disaster if K3-R5 started biting. Every inch of Beedee was packed with utility features that could be damaged by a sabotage droid. A solid wallop can easily cause equipment failures anywhere.

But that was not to say he was adverse to conversation. In fact, BD-9 had few opportunities for proper conversation in the past 100 years. It is quite hard to find anyone that fully understands Clone Wars era Binary in this day and age, after all.

// This unit is called BD-9. Usually ready for adventure, but currently under maintenance, as you may surmise. // BD-9 replied.

// Much of this unit had replacement parts over the years from wear and tear as well as environmental and combat damage. // BD-9 added, indulging in K3-R5's curiosity. // Only a selection of parts remain manufacturer original. //

Given his adventures over the past 155 years since his date of manufacture, from accompanying a galactic thief from the Galactic Civil War through assisting a doctor in treating Resistance soldiers wounded in their fight against the First Order on the frontlines, staying in one piece was certainly an impressive feat.

Of course, Beedee had to ask the question, as his own interest in treasures and the history involved played a role. // Has K3-R5 seen action in the Clone Wars? How does a Pistoeka survive wartime conditions? //

Stepping through the threshold of the cantina, the fiery haired spacers eyes immediately fell upon the large circular bar that sat at the middle of the cantina, a wide grin crossing her features as her gaze panned and snaked along the various hoses and pipes that hung from the ceiling and dropping down to the various dispensers that lay safely beyond the bar counter. It seemed in comparison to most of the cantinas that she had visited, particularly within the core worlds, that were all dark cramped and gloomy, this cantina was large, open and bright - not a seedy venue of the sorts but more of a social hub for the local settlement.

As she stepped closer to the bar, her movements stopped as the rather distinct nickname crossed upon her ears. Blinking a few times as she tried to determine whether it was just a matter of coincidence that one of her nicknames had been uttered or it was the Zeltron Jedi Knight that had let the words slip her tongue. The confirmation came quicker than it would have taken for Eisa to run her gaze over all the gathered patrons within, to play spot the Zeltron. Whom was approaching from her side, immediately questioning her about what she was doing on Batuu of all places, not to mention the odds - it was certainly a small galaxy after all.

A wide grin crossed the spacer's features as she shrugged initially in response to the line of questioning, before she turned to fully face the Zeltron as she lent against the railing of the bar counter. "Getting a drink?" Eisa responded with a light chuckle and an inquisitive arch of her eyebrow, part of her was tempted to drop the it's a free galaxy line, but she doubtled that Kori was going to interrogate her over her movements. The spacer's attention shifted away from the Jedi Knight towards the approaching barstaff. "Two Jedi Mindtricks please" the spacer requested, before turning her attention towards Kori and shooting her a playful wink. "I wouldn't worry about the odds, or whether its the will of the Force" the spacer resumed the conversation with the Jedi Knight, a thoughtful pout forming on her lips for a moment. "Otherwise you'd be loosing sleep worrying whether we are just pawns in the machinations of some group of high level sentience in the Force that is in control of our lives. " Eisa concluded with a playful wink, before turning her attention towards the barman who was approaching with two glasses of a neon blue bubbling liquid

Taking one glass for herself and handing one over to the Zeltron, with a slight nod as she raised her glass briefly in a cheers gesture before bringing the bubbling liquid up to her lips to take a quick sip. "We're just stopping off to have a bit of a break" Eisa revealed as she lowered the drink away from her lips. "Doing a shipping run from Jakku to Koda Station, fuel was starting to get a bit low as we neared the system" she continued with a light chuckle, before looking own to the neon blue liquid in her hand. "Figured whilst here, getting the ship refuelled, might as well see what my home town looks like"

Curse was a bit disappointed to hear that BD was mostly comprised of replacement parts by this point, although that wasn't too surprising. A century and a half was hard enough to survive for little droids like them, let alone in perfect condition. Still, she made a note that she would need to see if she could identify his stock parts from the new ones once she took him apart. BD's question was vexing as well. Having experienced multiple memory wipes Curse had no recollection of her initial use after manufacture. Although she knew her purpose, she had no idea what had happened to her between her creation during the Clone Wars and the last time her memory was wiped by her previous owner.

//Unfortunately that data is no longer available.// She chittered sadly in reply to BD's question. //My memory banks only hold data covering the last nine years, five months and twenty-two galactic standard days.// The Besalisk still eyed Curse with suspicion, but as he seemed to be getting a call he stepped into the other room to answer it, closing the door behind him as he began speaking to another apparent customer. Curse watched the mechanic as he left, then turned back to BD once more.

//What I do know is this,// She started. //After the Clone Wars I was repurposed as a repair droid, though apparently not a very good one as I was most recently sold for a relatively low price given my age and condition. Fortunately my previous owner saw fit to restore my original programming, so I could go back to doing what I do best...// With that she started spinning up her circular saw. //Speaking of which, you wouldn't mind terribly if I took you apart would you? I'll make sure to leave your parts in good condition for when the mechanic returns...// Something about her tone suggested she had no intentions of taking no for an answer as the buzz droid started creeping closer.

Kori leaned against the counter as well, mirroring Eisa's pose. Mostly, Nykoria was just glad to see a familiar face, let alone the drinks. And true to herself, Firehair was already making jokes about the Force. "Yeah, right," Kori winked back at Eisa. "Well, if those entities are hearing us right now, there's no harm in asking for a faster ship, or making some other wish." The Zeltron couldn't but keep up the joke; like it or not, Eisa's mood and attitude did reflect on Kori.

Then the drinks arrived. Even though a Mindtrick was associated with the Jedi, Kori had never tasted that one. With some hesitation, she picked up and studied the blue liquid before repeating Eisa's gesture and trying the drink herself. "Right. Total coincidence. I just came all the way here to pick up something for the Order." Then the Zeltron livened up, realizing something: "Wait, so you're a local? No way!"

After taking another sip, she leaned a bit forward: "Got any tips for a tourist? I've got a couple of days before a planned meeting." The purple alien made a friendly chuckle: "And probably a couple of days after that. I've had enough of my ship for a while. Not really looking forward to a week-long flight back home."

K3-R5's memory wipes was more of a disappointment than anything else. BD-9 understood the purpose of them, but he never felt the need to actually have his own memory cleaned. The thought of losing all of recollection of his past sounds... sad. But what the Pistoeka wanted to do next made the BD unit visibly recoil.

// This unit does mind considerably! // BD-9 answered with genuine concern.

He backed away from the sabotage droid, keeping in mind that any attempts to use his spark projector in the hot oil bath is likely to electrocute both of them, with Beedee more likely to get totally fried by such an attempt.

Instead, Beedee bolted out of the oil bath at top speed, transitioning to using his air jets to help him leap into rafters of spare droid parts to escape the buzzing saws that gave the Pistoeka its famed nickname. The clang of metal seemed to reach the Besalisk, given the low grumblings in response, but it seemed that he was on an important call since he did not come back to the front to investigate the sounds.

BD-9 poked his head out of the pile of parts to watch for K3-R5's approach, hoping that the droid would stop bothering him and leave him in peace. A slim hope, but probabilities have never bothered him.
