Denon. That one world that everyone was making a big fuss over. An ecumenopolis in the Inner Rim, a major world in it's own right. Not as big as Coruscant but still a big deal and has make headwaves in the Holonet. First the SIth took it over, then there was a Republic blockade and bombardment, and the blockade was blocking and was isolated from the galaxy via sanctions, then was liberated by the Jedi and fell back into Free Worlds hands. All that, yet there are still reports of crime, skirmishes, and economic problems caused by it's place in the conflict. This is a good opportunity for Blackwell Technologies to make lots of credits.

In one effort towards that end, the Blackwell Executive Newton Arden has set up an appointment with a mayor of a city sector. The mayor was looking for ships, weapons, and droids. They are all Blackwell products so of course they are high quality, but the mayor was skeptical about the price and was wavering in resolve to accept the offer from Blackwell. And thus a quick weapons demostration was set up as part of a pitch, if this goes well then the mayor will be glad to make the purchase.

Right now Newton would be in a nice suit with the mayor, in a nice safe remote area, while a outside contractor (@Fine Dining Set)for him is going to test the weapons for the benefit of the the mayor. Blackwell Munitions-made weapons were made available to him, not only that a contingent of some Deneb and Vega droids would accompany them. The droids abilities themselves are on display here as well.

The goal, there was a criminal syndicate that holed themselves in Denon, taking advantage of the conflict to make some easy credits and to grow them selves. They will be put an end to.

Newton would then get on his comlink and ask his his associate is ready, he has eyes on the field via a datapad with a link to a flying droid with a camera. "Braprag, whenever you are ready to move out, you are ready" he said, then he would look towards the mayor, knowing he's going to be impressed. If all goes well, Braprag will have a nice payday and Blackwell will make a nice amount of profit.

The Blackwell man did hear that there were officials that lean towards Sith or FWA, but honestly Newton didn't care to ask where their true allegiances lie.

Braprag was not just a bodyguard, today. He was head of security for Newton Arden, bringing a presence of the Untamed to the warfront as well. They had decided to invest in this little expedition, in part as an advertisement to the officials of Denon themselves. If the Untamed proved to be effective in getting Arden across the warfront, it would be possible. But there were challenges.

The Sith-armed guerrillas had taken to the outskirts of the megacities, and had occupied some of the heavy anti-air equipment. This had effectively locked down any civilian air transit from region to region; the safer path was to take an armored ground convoy. With anti-Force extremists protesting in greater numbers on the streets, and the usual suspects of armed gangs and militias that crop up in any war zone, even ground transport was not guaranteed to be safe from the spaceport to the administrative office.

Braprag wore his armor, perhaps less strictly professional than a suit but situationally appropriate. "Yessir." The Untamed were renowned for their casual attitude compared to regular military forces, but he wanted to be respectful while he was client facing. "Think our best route is taking the main roads. Side streets will be too . We have an armored convoy: four trucks and twenty Untamed ready to move out now." He pulled up a datapad that had the map highlighted. "Bad news is - you're gonna be bunking with us for the duration of the trip." He chuckled, lightly. Maybe if Arden knew his way around a keg, he'd have a good time.

"Let's get a move on." He took his slug rifle from his back, holding it at the ready as he raised a fist. "Untamed! Let's move!" He extended the fist into a chopping motion, as the fiercely armored techno-barbarians ran to their TN-K Speeder Trucks. Rather than store cargo in them, more warriors hopped into the cargo bay. These vehicles and troops flanked the actual VIP, Arden, and his own personal vehicle. Braprag hopped into an Armored Marauder with Arden, and their convoy began to slowly yet steadily crawl towards the elevated highway that led to their destination.

So the convoy is starting to move, good. Newton did some reading about the Untamed before hand. Interesting group he thought, they have a linage that goes back along time as well, worth the generous pay he will give assuming all goes according to plan. Any rabble that would stand between them and their goal wont have a chance, especially with the droids that Newton has brought as well.

"That's no problem. More interesting than being in the office atleast" he replied back in response to him having to bunk with them for the trip. Hardly the worst thing he had to endure.

The mayor was being silent, not having much to say, but he still looked uncertain. But Newton knows that will change by the time they are done.

Newton would look towards his head of security, he had some questions. "Do you have an ETA on when we will reach our destination?" Also "And hmmm, you have anything good 'refreshments' or anything stashed in here by any chance." he would glance here and there in the vehicle. If this is going to be a pretty lengthy trip, it might be a little nice to have a little something.

Anyways, so far so good. They just started not to long ago, but the situation on the planet anything could change quickly of course.

"We're about, uh...four hours out." Should they proceed without any delays, it would be an easy half day drive. He checked his data map again - moving, red blips represented their convoy as they charted across the streets of Denon. At the request for a drink, Braprag sighed nonchalantly beneath his mask. Was he going to be one of those types - a VIP who couldn't just take it easy?

And did he have anything to drink? From a pocket in his armor, he produced a small, worn metal flask. He grabbed a disposable cup from the floor of the vehicle - only slightly dirtied by mud and grass. He wiped out the dirt, and poured two fingers of Bandomeerian Moonshine into the cup. "This should tide ya' over." With that, he relaxed back into his seat to watch the minutes tick by. Sentries reported no sign of snipers, and government-aligned militias helped to sweep the main highway of mines. It should be a safe trip. One could never be too prepared, though.

"Know any good road games?"

.................................................

A little over halfway into their journey, Braprag heard startling new info from the recon bikes ahead. There was anti-Force User protest taking place on the main stretch of highway. An Untamed member radioed the warning ahead to Braprag, who sighed deeply in turn. It was supposed to be a milkrun. Now they'd have to change paths.

"Alright, these types probably won't let us pass without a fight." As they approached, Arden would be able to take in the full scope of the protest. Hundreds, maybe thousands, flooded their speeders to shut down the highway. Many were armed, yelling about some perceived slight The Jedi had done, or some wicked sorcery of The Sith. No way they were going to get past that, and it wasn't worth it to arouse their ire. If only they had been warned about this farther in advance. But hey, that's war.

"I'm going to suggest you put on a basic combat vest. Should be one in the locker underneath your seat." Braprag popped his helmet off, quickly, to take a swig of the moonshine. He shook his head and returned his helmet to its place. "You, uh..." He looked Arden up and down. Would he be the fighting type? "You know how to use a blaster? No, forget that, just keep your head down. We're gonna be safe." He passed the flask back to Arden.

The caravan dipped off the highway, pulling onto narrow passageways and streets that sat shadowed beneath the massive highway itself. People were scarce, likely hidden behind boarded up and shattered homes as the caravan continued to tick by. Packs of wild animals disappeared, scurrying back to their holes, at the sound of their movement. It was good so far.

But then, there was the strange, sunny glint from a mega-skyscrapers window. Braprag had obsessively stared at the skyline for most of the ride. This caught his attention - it almost looked like....

Shit.

"Get down!" Braprag leapt across the vehicle, tackling Arden to the ground, before a blaster shot soared into the windshield of their vehicle. The windows were built to be blaster proof, but heavy blaster fire could stress even the strongest windows. Glass shattered, as blaster fire began to ring out from the vehicles.

"Shots fired! One in the window!"

"Thank you." Newton would smile take the drink from his good host, and take a sip of it. "Mmm, fine stuff" he said, tasted rough, but fine. Maybe he should ask what the name of his beverage.

Now on the topic of roadgames. That's a tricky one... he would try to remember something "Well, my parents and I would play `I spy` while traveling over Courscant." Newton would look outside and think of what to spy. "I spy with my eyes, something... ruined." Looking at some of the ruined cityscape on the side, pretty obvious. "It's been a long since I played this game" he shrugged it off.

Things were going smoothly, but it was perhaps inevitable given the state of the planet they would start running into problems. Protests, they were forced to divert paths.

When suggested to get on a basic combat vest, Newton would pound his chest a few times "Already got one" he said. He started wearing a blast vest after that time he got kidnapped by a Hutt agent and dropped off on a old factory in the middle of nowhere. But Newton would look towards the mayor would would indeed put one on. Newton would get his head down at the suggestion of his head of security and makes sure's the mayor does the same.

Well, at least this won't be too boring, he grimaced.

There was then the glint of light in the distance. It only took a split second to process. 'Sniper' then a bolt hit the window. He was then tackled. That sniper will be an annoyance, there could be more as well.

Newton would then on his commlink then order. "HW units, deal with that sniper over on top of the buildings." HW units from Newton's personal guard droids would then activate and take flight, gaining altitude and advancing with speed. It would be awkward to deal with the sniper holding the high ground with ground units, so he is hoping the sniper will be flushed out.

But then a sniper from a different building would take an expertly made shot at one of the HW droids as it's flying, shooting it down. Newton while he was on the ground, caught a glimpse of it being destroyed.

Well, this will be annoying... He still has four of those flying droids left though. Still annoying.
