DESCRIPTION
The WESTAR-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol can directly trace its lineage to the WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistol in terms of its grip, barrel position, and material components. However, the designers at Concordian Crescent Technologies found their usual model-one that was made popular by the notorious bounty hunter Jango Fett little over a Century ago-to be lacking in terms of stopping power. While they did have the WESTAR-35 as one of the best, it still couldn't be exactly counted as a Heavy Blaster pistol. So the engineers at CCT looked back to the 34 and particularly on the modified ones owned by Jango Fett. With a hollowed out grip and a rather skeletal design combined with Dallorian Alloy, the WESTAR-34 would be excellent in heat control. The downside with the current design was that it didn't pack exactly a whallop at long range like Heavy Blasters do. With the specs in mind the blast-smiths at CCT worked tirelessly over the course of the Post GCW* to produce a Heavy Blaster with the custom 34s benefits yet pack the punch of a Heavy. The Result was the WESTAR-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol, a good balance between intense punch and quick firing. The skeletal barrel and handle, along with a more effecient power cell, makes it a reliable weapon that surpassed the 34 and 35 respectively. However, due to the fact the pistol doesn't exactly kill on hit like real heavy blasters (without Illegal Modifications) they are technically classified as Medium Blasters. The WESTAR-44 in more recent variants are modular, and can be equipped with a plethora of loadouts ranging from the standard pistol to a carbine to even a long range rifle variant depending on the parts. All WESTAR-44s are equipped with a robust Electroscope for improved accuracy and a beefier powercell to doll out a charged shot, made possible due to the insulation of the Dallorian alloy and the skeletal barrel and compensator springs.

LEGALITY
Unmodified versions of the WESTAR-44 are legal almost everywhere (as long as you have the right weapons permits). Modified variants that convert the Medium blaster into a Heavy Blaster are HIGHLY ILLEGAL and punishments range from fines to prison time and forfeiture of the weapon.

INTENT
Two Intents: The First will be to provide a durable, reliable, customization, and powerful pistol for that smuggler/fighter/traveler who wants to make sure that whatever they hit..stays down. Secondary (and not really important) is to provide my character Rowa an alternative to his blaster in the near future...once he get's it.

No. It is a fairly new piece of weaponry though it can require a thread or two to upgrade or illegally modifiy the weapon.
