G'day gang! Vinny at your service. I'm a cranky old rp vet just looking to take one last shot at forum rp before he hangs up the towel. I love the look of the forum and the ease of navigation is refreshing to say the least. I've already got a three ideas for characters. Erm... about me... I'm 27 working on a Masters Degree and I live in Indiana (don't judge, the weather's nice) with my wife. I love star wars and have been travelling rp forums related to the setting for years.

That's about it, it's a pleasure to meet you all and I'm really looking forward to hopping in on this refreshingly flexible looking rp.

I actually did have a question if you all did not mind offering your opinion. I've got 3 general concepts for characters lined up like I mentioned at the beginning of this thread. I want to pick one for now and run with it. Perhaps some suggestions from you all as to which of these three would be best for a starting player to get more involved;


1. Wake - A philosophically minded human sith apprentice with a love of knowledge and a viciously short temper towards those who use the dark side to "act like animals". His views on the dark side and sith tradition often put him at odds with other sith. He has a talent for mental manipulation and knowledge stealing.

2. Nimarra - A graceful but secretly intense miralukan jedi padawan with a love of nature, animals, and natural beauty, despite her heritage. She has a deeply rooted desire to see others succeed and often pushes too hard to the point of being abusive. She has a talent for telekinesis and lightsaber combat.

3. Paya - A short tempered twilek ex-slave who has a bone to pick with the hutts. She wants to get started as a smuggler and retail operator in the outer rim. A scoundrel with an itchy trigger finger, a talent for crime and business and a serious drinking problem.

That's them, my three ideas for the time being.

Main faction characters are by far the best way to get your proverbial feet wet.
That said, I'd say go with all the ideas since we have three slots for PC per member.

Personally, I prefer Wake; your Sith. He sounds like the perfect trouble maker.

I really love the concept with Wake, its a unique take on the usual Sith character. Plus almost nobody plays acolytes.

On the other hand I have a weakness for scoundrels and smugglers.

So why not both?
